The comments on Schwab relate to his meddling in the footy dept. This was complicated by Connolly (who has also been remarkably and uncharacteristically silent in the past 12 months). Schwab wasn't doing his job properly AND was rubbing people up the wrong way, particularly sponsors who were aggrieved that the CEO didnt pay them much attention. I personally saw CS at games sitting by himself, taking notes on players and the game plan rather than sitting with and schmoozing sponsors. The former isn't part of his job the latter clearly is so IMO he was failing on several levels. My assumption is he used those notes to try and change what the footy dept were doing and they didn't like it.

Just to be clear these were CCs words in a conversation with you? Or were they publicly pronounced?? And on Molan, people can understand if a player breaks down. It doesn't mean we didn't stuff up but it's not exactly avoidable.

I would actually prefer Tarrant to Cloke. 90% cheaper, could provide a solid player for 1 yr and give us time to develop Davis and Tommy Mac further.
-
Do people not realise we picked him up because we got rid of Warnock and needed a big body defender???? He has been very serviceable in his role. Probably wouldn't have got as many games had we not had injury but far from the worst on our list. We can't have 22 Wayne Carey's. Stop looking at deficiencies and look at what he does right which is quite a few things.

Beams signs for 3 ... Cloke edges closer to Dees?

If contested marking os what you want we have the third highest contested mark in the league playing for us, why do we need Cloke?? (J Howe) -
Ha ha great quotes!! Says Howe is a very accurate kick for goal!!!!!!!

Carlton's ruckman of the century was 188cm....
-
Careful. You'll be investigated for tanking......
-
aren't we still trying to play like Geelong?? or was that last season....
-
Sadly he is contracted for next year. Dream on...
-
tee hee. Careful. There will be an investigation if that sort of talk goes on...
-
Would rather him than CLoke.

well then, they would want to be handing around 349 of these each week I assume, Mostly to Lindsay Thomas and Ballantyne.

Then the player doesn't know Melbourne that well then because Moloney has no defensive skills, Jordie can't kick and does no damage altho he can negate an influential player. Jones is really the only decent one. We need mids who can win a ball and play both ways.

I thought you were talking about Sylvia..

We undoubtedly will see a massive cull. I think you are off the money there. neeld is a first year coach and what he has seen has shocked him. He is not going to sit around and wait for improvement. He will go out and get it. The Swans have shown it is possible at the trade table and this year will be a revelation with FA. We will be aggressive. As for sellar I don't get the animosity towards this bloke. He is a role player and has actually done his job well. We lost Warnock and had no-one to play on the 'gorillas'. Who do you think is going to do that?? Rivers, Garland, Frawley? Its laughable. Have a look at the history of players like Cloke against us. Sellar has been OK.

Yesterday we were beaten on the contested possessions and clearances by the worst side in history. It's a fact guys. there is no gilding the lily over that.

How would you know?? By all reports Junior was exemplary on field and off field. Well regarded Captain although my reading of it would be not in the league of Kirk.

Well at least he is one of our players that tries to physically intimidate (even if the mo makes it laughable). None of the others can do it except Clark and possibly Jones. We are so soft it ain't funny.

Morton Bail Evans Bennell Bartram Ricky P Spencer Green (ret) Davey (should ret) Moloney (should trade)

Can he hit a target from 20m away?? If so he's in.

Neeld has stated in his press conference that the media has 7 day goggles on and that the Dees have made much improvement in the second half of the year with their ball movement and clearance work. I am struggling to see it. Yesterday against possibly the worst side ever fielded we lost the contested possession count AND the clearances. How is that possible?? We seemed to dominate the game in terms of time in our fwd half but without putting it on the scoreboard. Missing goals form 30m out all day might have just been a result of the wind but frankly I though it was pathetic. But even allowing for the strong gusty winds yesterday was such a poor effort from our team - there was little intensity, they looked like they were just going through the motions and for a team with a chance to smash a pretty hopeless newcomer to the comp we were undeniably soft. GWS were allowed to collect the ball at will and had little pressure applied. our guys seemed to be content to let GWS turn it over (which they did regularly) and rebound it off half-back. Contested possessions were a hallmark of the first half of 2012 and follow on from Neeld's 'we want to be the hardest team to play against' mantra when he took over as coach. Yet we seem to have left this behind. The last quarter against GWS showed how little we wanted the ball or to win. Its nearly done me in. I really lament for our team. They are incredibly difficult to watch. It is downright embarrassing a lot of the time. Their mistakes are those of a junior team, their intensity and commitment to the contest is sometimes non-existent while their skill level is simply deplorable. Has anyone seen any improvement this year? Because I haven't. We have gone backwards. The only thing that has been demonstrated to me is which players don't want to be there. And there is quite a few of them.
