  1. Well we are short of positives ATM so I'll take this as one....
  2. Wow. Bi-polar comes to mind....
  3. Can I have my thread back. You guys that want to argue about inane crud go and start your own thread.
  4. Different competition for PA. Not relevant. I guess the CC was the forerunner to the VFA and AFL.
  5. Thank God we didn't take Lewis Johnson. Maybe we just had too many Johnstons/Johnsons ......
  6. Ok I have calmed down... You can have your opinion of course. I can't agree with it though. Pigs ear silk purse.... You can't shine a t&*(....
  7. Would that be the game where we got the ball into our 50m zone 30 times?? One above our all time low? Yep crucify him. He's a hack. Imagine if we got it in there 15 times a quarter? Imagine of we had midfield that could deliver the ball to a forward?? Good grief.
  8. Just to make it really clear for you I think it is neither. It's group think.
  9. How exactly did we tank genius? We were ahead when the siren went. Or are you saying we stuffed that up as well ha ha.
  10. There would be 38 separate groups.....
  11. Hey why don't we trade him to GWS for a 2nd round pick. Ha ha ha ha
  12. I saw something similar but it was with Daniel Jackson. We had three in the centre and a Melbourne player (forget who) raced into the middle and left Jackson free on the wing. Before you know it Jackson had it and was streaming fwd. Rabble on field organisation.
  13. What a ridiculous statement. I started this thread to seek out a discussion. I imagine every club is different due to the personnel they have. And IF I was coach I would want the ultimate say in who gets drafted BUT coaches tenure is notoriously short so a club can't rely solely on a coach otherwise you could end up with a new coach coming in and throwing out the previous recruits. But he has to have a key say as his is the most accountable position of all. BP on the other hand can walk and say syonara and we are left holding the baby
  14. Hey here is an idea. Why don't we gift them some games. It's done Morton the world of good...... Ask Dean Bailey his thoughts on it...
  15. Neeld is not teaching us to kick to a contest (face palm). He is trying to teach us that it is risky to kick down the corridor as turnovers kill you. It is more prudent to kick down the line to a teamate. The problem is our teamates don't run and spread thus the kicker has no option BUT to kick to a contest as it is safer than the corridor. Big difference.
  16. I asked DB directly once about not hitting targets and his response was if they are not fit enough they miss targets. I personally didn't buy it then and don't now. It's such a basic skill I don't know ho w you get to elite level without being able to do it.
  17. Its an interesting point who has ultimate say. There is no doubt a heirachy but it seems clear to me in the corporate world the CEO of a small company (substitute Coach) asks his HR Manager (substitute recruiting manager): 1. who is out there 2, What do we need 3. What is your opinion on each Before ultimately making the final decision. I can see the coach having ultimate authority in a line ball call when the footy department is genuinely torn between two or three players. If I was coach I would want that authority but then someone does need to keep an eye on the future because the coach in all liklihood wont be there in the long term.
  18. The EW jumpers re collectors items. Must have gone up in value....
  19. Don't get caught up in semantics. Watch it again and you will see Jackson is out of bounds turning, looks at Grimes and then makes a second aggressive motion to slam Grimes onto the ground.
  20. One thing I have noticed is that Beemer often sits at the feet of Jamar. Many times the ball falls straight to ground. Ablett does that a lot as well but he can get out of traffic, Moloney can't most often and handballs out. When Beemer is not there most of our mids hang around the outside rather than go inside and get it. Just a thought.
  21. Was trying to ascertain whether he had been given the cold shoulder from Neeld, whether he saw the writing on the wall, whether he jumped etc. Either way he is not around to see whether his choices come good or not. Maybe he thinks the picks are no good and he better find another job, I don't know. Just testing to see what is out there..
  22. According to the The AGE last week we have recruited poorly and/or the evolution of the press defeated our recruiting. Barry P slunk off rather quietly and I wondering whether this was a Neeld driven situation after arriving and assessing all of the draftees of the past 5 or 7 years? Or did he see the writing on the wall? It's clear there has been a lot of clearing out of the footy dept (with the exception of Mahoney and Royal) so has anyone heard anything concrete on BPs departure?
  23. DB was unlucky to be there when the concessions were in place for GWS and GC. Trading or clearing out the list wasn't a realistic option.
  24. That's why we have had terrible turnovers in the first few games. We are trying to move the ball quickly. INstead of being composed, assessing the options quickly and pulling the trigger. Frawley I reckon has become like a frightened rabbit when kicking in because he is thinking too much. It's a delicate balance and one that is incredibly difficult when devoid of confidence as we are. The good teams are composed and don't second guess themselves. We are clearly not there yet. I am sick of waiting....
