It's a blister. He'll be right,
-
I presume he's on an IV to ensure that any infection is nuked well in time for the game.
-
He plays well in the wet [Ah, beat me to it!]

How does this scoring system work? Petracca gone from 125 to 143 Gawn gone from 50 to 53 May gone from 17 to 30 Round 11 v Freo 127. Clayton Oliver 125. Christian Petracca 50. Max Gawn Jack Viney 40. Brodie Grundy 38. Angus Brayshaw 33. Trent Rivers 30. Jake Lever 23. Lachie Hunter 19. Jake Bowey 18. Ed Langdon Kysaiah Pickett 17. Steven May 15. Tom Sparrow

Sparrow? LOL.

And if we do watch the commentators say " oh they were due for a loss, they have been up for so long, you can't keep up that pace all season, De Goey missing has cost them" blah blah blah.
-
You can really train for finals type game. You have to experience them. We want to play in big games and we train as best we can for big games. Thats why I think they set themselves for this.

He is banned for life after his comments on both Freo and Collingwood.

No way they drop Smith. Goodwin is primed for Collingwood and bringing Smith in as a defensive fwd on Moore is what will happen. It's the same role he has used Petty for previously. And they won't let Daicos take the kick ins and run and receive the hand off either.

I am sensing this game is similar to the Melb v Geelong game last year. Geelong were traumatised by Melbourne in 2021 and set about revamping their game plan to combat Melbourne. Everything about the changes was designed to combat melbourne who Chris Scott thought had changed the game and that Geelong would inevitably play in a finals game. So they went about putting huge pressure on Gawn when May kicked to the left hand side of the ground. They made Lever accountable and chip kicked their way through our defence. They revealed their plan to have Stanley take the ruck contest and then drop back to support their defence. The had Blix tag Petracca and take the ruck contests in the middle of the ground with Hawkins taking the ruck in the fwd half. They then parked that combination until finals and the rest is history. Goodwin has set us up for this game. He knows they are the benchmark and they have had the wood on us (although last year's game was more a case of our injuries mid-game costing us big time). As visually poor as our game was against Carlton, Our defensive work and stoppage work was first class. It was a whole of team performance and goes a long way to how we are planning to beat the Pies. The Pies swarm the contest and then run and carry the ball. We won't allow that to happen. they will be put under pressure and will have to kick sideways and backwards in order to maintain possession. But they are not used to having to backtrack and will be out of position everywhere. And if we can get the ball out of the congestion or turn the ball over, they will be way out of position and outnumbered down back. I think this will be a very tactical game and the Dees will come out on top. We have let Oliver rest up and even rested Hibberd to be cherry ripe. Grundy will be fired up. I am excited for this one and starting to get very positive about our chances.

True but its no coincidence he popped up last year when Petty when down, May was missing, Gawn injured his foot and Turner went off concussed. Our defence was hugely compromised.
-
Simply cannot let Cox run and jump at the ball. Must get body on him.

Its a garbage award, who cares. The players nominated after about round 10 have zero chance of winning the award. It started as a rising star award now its a best first year player award which is totally different. And genuine stars sometimes dont get nominated because of the ridiculous rules around nominations.

Let me introduce you to Brittany Higgins....
-
Silvagni has a surprisingly good record against us. I recall he kicked 3 against us recently when playing ruck/fwd. Setterfield, Docherty also seem to play well against us,.
-
Smith is not a defender against the Charlie Cameron's of this world. He is better if we play him fwd.

Last 5 games Melb +5 Melb +26 Melb +1 Melb +5 Melb +109 (!)

Two points 1. post more often 2. Umpires have always been the subject of frustration But in the 'old days' with one umpire you knew what you were getting and adjusted according to their particular biases. That changed slowly with the addition of another umpire and then another. Consistency was lost. And that ideally is what we all are after. Nowadays we have four giving inconsistent interpretations, rules of the week, letting certain things go like throws or push in the back and even standing in the wrong positions. Frustration in the extreme, A lot of this started with the attempts to speed up the game. Interchange being the main culprit. All for TV.One of the beauties of our game was that players got tired and couldn't run as far or as fast as the game wore on. Contested footy was the norm. And good teams stood out after half time. Now its a mad scramble from start to finish. Its hard on players and umpires. No other sport has umpires run as far nor require them to have skill - like bouncing a ball. We have the worst of all worlds it would seem and longstanding watchers are fed up with the 'product' and the entrenched biases like fixtures and MRP etc.

Couldn't argue with a single point. Spot on. Should end it to the AFL although they wouldn't care. They would just point to the Broadcast rights deal and attendances. And then pay themselves a gazillion dollars more.

The Vin Catoggio Cup
-
Not sure I want to be friends with you then
-
Its part of it but I would't say the major part unless there is a major correlation as Geoffrey Rush and Rebel Wilson tried to argue.
-
They are part of the money making machine. You get tossed aside pretty quickly if you dare go against it. Ask Dale lewis or Michael Warner. Why do you think TV commentators don't criticise umpires and decisions? Very rare when they do.
-
oh dear, I think you are missing the point. If there is no midfield pressure where balls are kicked high and quickly into our fwd line its difficult to intercept.
-
You are doing an excellent impersonation of one of the mindless whiners Pro tip. If you don't want to read opinions contrary to your own suggest you don't read footy forums.
