Not sure how you can say Oliver is this year's crop.

Great. About time.

Just sickening that the AFL are fawning all over this mob like they are returning heroes rather than the stinking drug cheats they are.

Chris Dawes is a somewhat limited footballer but a ripping bloke that gave his all to our club at a very much needed time. He provided much-needed leadership off field, pushed strong training habits and on-field leadership in terms of his tackling, pressure acts, development of younger players as well as providing much needed physical support. If he is let go I will be saddened for him as a person and wish him nothing but good will and respect.

Gibbs is not the problem per se. Its his missus that wants to go home.....

Thanks Jack. Great clubman. Solid warrior in dark times. Heart and soul player that we love. If he could hit targets he would be a gun.

We get pilloried for our drafting but GWS are able to have their ineptitude ignored because of the sheer volume of top-end draft picks they have had. Silvagni is a dud list manager

not much incentive to finish in the top 4

Both teams with the week off lost this year.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MICHAEL HIBBERD

And we paid pick 23 for melksham and pick 29 for Hibberd. Its just the way it is sometime. You have to break an egg to make an omelete.... -

This is true but their game plan is based on pressuring the opposition to turn the ball over and they are devastating by foot. You are irght though, they have to find someone to ge the ball for them and Mitchell might but O'Meara is a huge risk for them. -
None of the Hawk players want to go to the Suns.......

Maybe a better way of putting it! I like to think of our back six, fwd 6 middle and 10 mids. It is looking like we are starting to form a good template with age, experience, key positions etc The two big areas that are a worry for me are back up ruck and a key position back that's reliable. The lesser issue is outside speed with clean delivery. Maybe Stretch and Salem can fill those spots.

I liked your post only because it evens up your posts and likes

The best team discussions are irrelevent. I can't recall the last team we had our 'best' team on the park. There are always injuries and suspensions etc

I just did. I was responding to a comment that pick 29 has a 50/50 strike rate. I say its worse than that. If you want to have a discussion about whether you would prefer Michael Hibberd OR have pick 29 and be able to choose from a pool of 500 to find someone better good luck. I'll leave you to it. It was about whether Hibberd is worth pick 29 which I happen to think he is. He is exactly of the age, hardness, experience etc that we need. -

I think its more like 20/30 chance of being a poor pick............ 29 Eric MacKenzie West Coast Claremont 2006 29 Tom Clurey Port Adelaide Murray U18 2012 29 Byron Donnellan Geelong Donald 1990 29 Touk Miller Gold Coast Calder U18 2014 29 Matthew Connell West Coast Subiaco 1991 29 Ben McKinley West Coast Northern U18 2005 29 Todd Curley Western Bulldogs West Perth 1995 29 Lewis Roberts-Thomson Sydney Swans NSW-ACT U18 2001 29 Adam Hunter West Coast Swan Districts 1999 29 Luke Shackleton Collingwood Tasmania U18 2002 29 Scott Lycett West Coast Port Adelaide (SANFL) 2010 29 Jack Gunston Adelaide Sandringham U18 2009 29 Tim Schmidt Sydney Swans West Adelaide 2003 29 Jason Torney Richmond South Adelaide 1994 29 Brendan Whitecross Hawthorn Zillmere 2007 29 Craig Walker Melbourne North Hobart 1986 29 Sam Phillipou Western Bulldogs Woodville-West Torrens 1992 29 Nathan Turvey Hawthorn South Fremantle 1996 29 Andrew Pascoe Collingwood Norwood 1987 29 Dayne Beams Collingwood Southport 2008 29 Marc Woolnough Geelong Southport 1997 29 Alex Forster Fremantle Norwood 2011 29 Rory Lobb Greater Western Sydney Swan Districts 2013 29 Scott Mollard Essendon Central U18 1993 29 Alex Morgan Essendon Oakleigh U18 2015 29 Wayne Campbell Richmond Golden Square 1989 29 Matt Rosa West Coast North Ballarat U18 2004 29 Tyson Stenglein Adelaide Subiaco 1998 29 Jamie Charman Brisbane Lions Northern Eagles 2000 29 Tim Allen St Kilda Mornington 1988 -
Ha! that's gold Wasn't trying to be mean about it. I liked Dunn and am disappointed that it hasn't worked out but you did mention one game where he stood out and I thought in the interests of balance.......

Well he did leave. We offered him a big whack to stay and he chose a bigger whack. Imagine if he had have stayed? Our situation would not be anywhere near where it is now. -

Agree. I think the club was planning to secure another rd 2 pick that they might be able to use but the Lewis scenario came out of the blue. Loathe to use this year's pick now. Will be interesting... -
Great news.............
