  1. Haven't seen this posted anywhere else but Jack Watts was on radio this morning about Oliver: "He can do it all. I was with (ruckman Max) Gawny last night and he was sitting in the (coaches) box (on Sunday) and he was saying the coaches were having a little fight because Troy Chaplin our forwards coach wanted him (Oliver) to stay up forward and Ben Matthews (midfield coach) wanted him back in the midfield. He is a super player and I think the coach probably put it on him a little bit last year to really become that full-time professional footballer and he's really taken to that and taken his game to a whole new level." Nice.
  2. I recall them saying the Buddy deal and the Boyd deal had re-set the market for key forwards. You had to draft them because they were going to become unaffordable. They choose to take the best Key fwd available.
  3. Not so reliable your friend.....
  4. Sorry Nasher they were totally different. The Weid one was a great scoop off the turf. The Smith one was phenominal. He fended off Smith with one hand and plucked up the ball with the other (Koutafidis like) - in one motion. Both great pieces of play but not similar IMO. The Smith one was perhaps the best piece of brilliance I have ever seen in a 1st year player.
  5. Ask Barry Prendergast....
  6. Still my favourite piece of play. One handed against a 3 time premiership player. Impressive
  7. In the past 5 years every team knew they can beat Melbourne. Even the spooners - it was their one genuine chance for a win. I suspect that will change this year.
  8. It's usually a player from another club doing it to us.....
  9. Like Google and Facebook are now censoring content they deem to be offensive. In the new Orwellian world if you don't fit the narrative you get howled down or deleted.
  10. If you did the schoolyard test and lined them up against a wall to select a team you would take Oliver over Parish every day. They'll both be good players but Oliver does things that most players can't do.
  11. That is an insult to the Donald
  12. They gave thousands of injections and received rebates from Medicare. I am pretty sure this was canvassed during the hearings and it was a clear scam. Dr Reid raised the issue of Medicare claims. The players testified that this was the case and here, Elliott and Wallis allege it again. So it may be heresay but given the tardiness of worksafe - that didn't even start investigating the matter until 17months AFTER the scandal became public - I am sceptical about government agencies doing their jobs properly when the scandal is a political football
  13. So the latest "bombshell" from Slobbo is that Wallis and Elliott are suing the club. Their evidence includes how the club ripped off the medicare system. It's amazing how in some cases how clear transgressions like the allged abusing of the Medicare rebate for the thousands of injections just simply get ignored. If Worksafe came to my workplace I would be heading to the slammer had I done the same thing as the EFC. Why do authorities look away?
  14. A gift to their long suffering supporters for sticking with them through thin.....
  15. Kimberley Kitching is a die hard bomber I believe. And don't forget Lindsay Tanner, current president and ex-ALP polly
  16. They were fined for cheating the salary cap in 1993 as well. Cheating bastaards
  17. A team event? And the whole team was punished? The AFL should hang their heads in shame. And by the way #giveitbackjobe
  18. Just as well otherwise they might end up sounding like dermie. I I IIII I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I .........counted 43 in one article.
  19. Yes my bad. It was for Nurofen. Was prescribed by the team doctor I recall. Very tough outcome. The EFC are very lucky.
  20. It is certainly debatable what is appropriate. Did the 16yo gymnast that lost a gold medal for taking a panadol at the Sydney Olympics get treated appropriately? I would argue that footballers have been treated very lightly by comparison as an example. That players are not lacking culpability. The proponents of the scheme should never be allowed near a sporting club again IMO. And that includes the Doctor.
  21. It can be dangerous. But in this case it is damning that all 34 players lied on their ASADA forms re injections. That is collusion or stupidity. You stated the following: Precisely, and other than conjecture, no-one in the public domain ever will. So regardless of their guilt, naivety or otherwise, there is an ample school of thought on here that these young men should be totally deprived of their careers, despite the obvious culpability of their 'employer'? I just hope I will never have to appear before the 'Star Chamber' that is Demonland. Your statement is clearly implying that you think the players have been dealt harshly and that the club is culpable. Yet is it has been proven that the players lied. They were hoist on their own petard. Don't know why you would overlook this or forgive them for it.
  22. In fact the AFL said exactly that when refusing to give Melbourne a PP. They said the Melbourne list was in good shape and their ladder position didn't reflect their list.
