  1. ANyone else notice Jesse wasn't smiling in the team photo? OMG......panic stations.... (and Watts was smiling his head off....)
  2. Previously younger players or players coming back from injury might have been the sub. I could see the possibility of senior players now staying on the ground longer and younger players or players coming back from injury rotating more. The resting ruckman in the forward pocket might make a comeback as well....
  3. I believe you can make as many changes as you like at each of the quarter breaks. So it s not really 90 rotations. Still it will be interesting to watch who has modelled the changes and adapted accordingly. Someone always jumps the gun and gets an edge on the comp. Wouldn't it be nice if it was us!
  4. I'm sure if you applied the 'schoolyard' test and lined them up against a wall Selwood would be picked before Jones......
  5. Policing this is impossible (unless a dumbass like Finnis goes public with it)
  6. No they won't. The AFL own the 18 clubs.
  7. How is that fair to Cotchin and Mitchell? We need to stop making allowances for cheats.
  8. What is a huge shame is that Mitchell and Cotchin were denied their Brownlow. And the glory and financial rewards that would have come with that.. You simply can't let the cheats prosper.
  9. Just because they are included in the TPP doesnt mean we have to actually pay out the money....
  10. Maybe EFC indemnified us and have to pay his salary for the time off? You don't know what is in their contracts....
  11. The Jack Watts greeting wasn't planned. It just happened that he ran on from the interchange and the ball was headed towards him. Coincidence really. Way too much has been made of this.
  12. Colin Sylvia had OP........... .........for about 10 years................
  13. Lets just hope Mitch Robinson is one of them next season...
  14. Exactly my thoughts. Clearly didn't watch the highlights package. The guy is a beast.
  15. But we are supposedly looking for competetive players....so maybe he fits the bill.... Personally I am wary about the late bolter at the draft table... 6 months good form to win the Morrish is great but would want to ensure his pedigree from a long way back is good...
  16. Oliver is a real bullock. Love his attack on the footy and the player. Good evasive skills, good amount of time and space. Its an impressive highlights reel. Doesn't seem to have the 'silk' factor which you probably want to see at a pick 3 but it seems you like you would get a bona fide inside mid workhorse in the mould of, say, a Dane Swan or Oliie Wines....
  17. I always have to laugh at this comment. Best available now? or Best player in 2, 3 or 4 years? Every draft in retrospect is vastly different to the actual draft......
  18. If he's like Heppell why would EFC be into him?
  19. We have to own the city of Melbourne and the club made a great job of the launch yesterday. Similarly we have to make melbourne a destination so that Jesse and others want to stay and gun players from other clubs will want to come to us. The reality is we haven't been able to attract the Dangerfield's of the comp to Melbourne. Success, a high profile in melbourne and and a great group of core home-grown talent might get us there. Its no 5 minute fix but like most things PJ does it is a long term sound strategy being built piece by piece. People ridiculed Glen Bartlett with his New York Yankees talk but the idea is the right one. We owned the town yesterday and we need to do it on a more consistent basis. We need to own it during footy season and there is no quick fix.
  20. Nah they went more than 15m and didn't go backwards
  21. Love this bit from his dad Shaun "He can definitely jump higher than me" Wow! I can see why we were happy to turf Howe!!!
  22. We need competitive footballers with skills - tick We need runners - tick We need to improve on the players we delisted - tick Goodwin has intimate knowledge of this guy's ability. We need to back his assessment.
  23. Its hard enough for clubs to pick talent at 17yo that will become AFL regulars. Its harder by some magnitude to do that at 16yo. Much greater drafting risk IMO
