The old straight arm block - The Gawn rule.
Opposition rucks are allowed to jump into Max 3 seconds before the ball is available to be tapped but that's OK.....

Midfield strength
Our mids when the get it are rarely running fwd. They are running backwards and trying to kick around their body more often than not. The midfield set ups are bewildering.

Gains amid the wreckage
Exactly my point. Didn't misread. He's saying that from that 1 game he is not suited to the fwd line (or better suited to the backline). he is 19yo and played 1 game in the fwd line where he kicked 3 goals.

Good grief.

On a 1 game sample? FMD. At least he can kick. Plenty of our fwds can't do that.

CHANGES: Rd 18 vs West Coast Eagles
Wasn;t Lewis tagging Bont?

CHANGES: Rd 18 vs West Coast Eagles
Mayne tagged Shannon Hurn very effectively. That stopped a lot of the Eagles run from the backline.

Agree with Hore, Petty, Baker and Hunt. Add to that Lockhart who has shown a bit. Salem has certainly stepped up in fitness and dependability and along with Hunt is about the only senior player to have improved. That is a real indictment regardless of the excuses. Maybe you could include Frost who has become a weapon albeit with some reasonably large flaws We also learned a lot about players who are unlikely to be long term.

Petracca's set shot kicking
Blind Freddie can see his ball drop is too high. Why TF can't someopne at the club do something about it? Probably the same reason they can stop idiot mids blindly handballing to opposition players or at our players feet. Or bombing the bal on our fwds heads. Or not kicking in until the opposition has set up their defence completely. The coaching staff have a lot to answer for in this pathetic year of football. Goodwin cant coach.

Hannan and ANB adios. Jones start saying goodbye, you deserve a send off on past form, not current. Lewis, this year has been a bust.

POSTGAME: Rd17 vs Bulldogs
McLean had more possessions than Hannan and he went off with a hammy in the 1st qtr

Thanks Pollyanna. You should get out more often

POSTGAME: Rd17 vs Bulldogs
Hannan woeful. Unsighted all day ANB. Can't accept him in the team any longer. Neville. Very poor, well off the pace. Hibberd missing for 2 1/2 qtrs Brayshaw. Did nothing all day. Lever. Underdone. Jones. I am done with you. The poorest captains game you are likely to see. Could barely keep his feet. May did well. Excitedto see Petty fwd. Fritsch is a shell of the footballer from 2 yrs ago. Lewis, just kick the ball instead of handballing to a stationary target. Our positioning at the contest is truly pathetic. We continually allow the oppsition free space while we send 3 players to the ball. Insanely dumb footballers and coaching 2019 can just [censored] off.

POSTGAME: Rd16 vs Carlton
I saw different vision on "On the Couch" and while the decision looked correct I was more interested in the process of whether it was automatically reviewed as a matter of course when its a point. Goals are supposedly reviewed automatically but I am not sure about points. And by the time the ball was kicked it was almost game over before a review could have taken place. IF it was an incorrect decision what would have happened?
-
POSTGAME: Rd16 vs Carlton
Supposedly every goal is reviewed but not sure about points. And even if it was reviewed, what were they going to do? The ball had travelled past the wing in a flash. Would they stop the game and bring the ball back? unlikely. Like a lot of things AFL it is rules on the run. They make it up as they go along.

POSTGAME: Rd16 vs Carlton
I'd say many here could see how the game would pan out after we were almost double their possession tally (220ish to 120ish I think in the 3rd qtr) and only 22 pts ahead. Not that you could predict the injury tally but hardly surprised that a lowly ranked team we hadn't put away would rally to take the lead in the closing stages. This is what calibrated expectations and why some weren't jumping through hoops over the win. Its all so predictable with this team. If there is a way to snatch defeat from victory they will try to find a way

POSTGAME: Rd16 vs Carlton
Should have been 10 goals up. The stats showed we absolutely dominated - doubling their possessions - yet were only 20 pts up. Watched Weed closely today. Absolutely useless when trying to body his opponent. He is a lead up fwd only. Carlton supporters are among the worst I have come across
