  1. I wish him all the best. Seemd to have some good skills and talent. Maybe the grind was not for him....
  2. Immediately apparently....
  3. Do your own research.
  4. I am not so sure about this. Firstly there is the fitness angle and older players tend to be better at performing more consistently under pressure. Because he is a fringe player he is probably trying too hard to perform. I certainly remember a couple of times when he got back in the side where he gave the ball off rather than have a shot at goal. That looked like 'fear' to me. And desperately wanting to do the team thing. Bugg's issue to me doesn't seem to be technical but mental and I think that is something you could fix. I wouldn't be writing him off yet but concede he is up against it..
  5. If Bugg could kick accurately we would be having a completely different conversation about him. Gets the ball, runs to the right spots, is hard but kicking definitely lets him down. I wonder whether a Noel Blundell or other sports psychologist could work with him.....
  6. Great effort by Angus and the club. Could just have easily been a terrible sporting story.
  7. Am I the only one that thinks Jeffy didn't perform that well last week? Particularly in defensive pressure?
  8. We are at least a 2 goal a quarter better side than GC if we play as we should.
  9. Get over yourself. Its a forum. No-one worth their salt is going to reveal a source The poster will live and die on what they post.
  10. True but Longmire says he hasn't trained more than 20 mins all year. Foot problems I believe. Or heel more specifically...
  11. I wonder how long before this appears in the media "Dee fans want Viney to chop off his toe"
  12. I'd rather play Collingwood in finals than Sydney
  13. This. The AFL are beholden to all sorts of influences and have taken around 6 different stances on Friday night games and who deserves them. I don't believe anything they say.
  14. He has gone through an unbelievable battle with amazing grace and dignity. I wish his he and his family all the best at this ridiculously difficult time.
  15. Its amazing how teams like GC get themselves up for their one and only game at the MCG...I sadly remember Sydney beating us at the G after losing 26 games in a row..........
  16. Garlett doesn't,do physical contact...
  17. The 3rd qtr used to reflect fitness. Not so much now since interchange....
  18. Thx that's my understanding
  19. Hunt will play at Casey this weekend. That's great news. Hopefully he can find some form. I like what Hunt brings and he could be a weapon in 3 or 4 weeks time....(avoided saying the 'f' word...)
  20. MCC predicting 27,000. They are usually pretty close
  21. Good OP. I think this is a really interesting stat. I suspect that the ability to adjust, reinforce the message, move those that aren't performing or putting the acid on players at half time is the basis for the result. It's byond coincidence IMO. As one who is on record as saying the jury is out on whether Goodwin is a good coach or not I really like this stat. It's a very positive sign.
  22. Ok so If I threw the ball over a tacklers head and kicked it before it hit the ground would that be any different?
  23. So the Jack Higgins goal. Incredible quick thinking but was it a throw? Scenario 1 Imagine I had the ball and was about to be tackled. I threw the ball over the head of the tackler, ran around him and caught the ball before it hit the ground. Legit or not? Scenario 2 Similarly if I was running towards the boundary and like in cricket grabbed the ball, threw it in the air, ran over the boundary and them back in where I caught the ball before hitting the ground. Legit? I am very sympathetic to the higgins goal as it was great to see, in front of a big crowd and at a big time in the game. But the AFL make stuff up as they go and this is no exception. To me it was a bad decision. Thoughts?
  24. 2nd qtr 7:33 to go. Took Fritsch out with a high bump 30m off the play.
  25. Has anyone else seen the MRP decision on May? Suspended a week because he it Curnow in the head with his shoulder. What really is bizarre is that Michael Christian when giving his reason said May was allowed to bump because the ball was within 5 meters. Curnow had disposed of the ball and the hit was absolutely late yet according to Christian if the bump had been lower he was well within his rights and would not have been sanctioned. Am I missing something here?
