  1. Did he eat his scarf in frustration?
  2. I'm not a mind reader. Say what you mean. What you said was wrong.
  3. A club with decent leaders would never have this happen. That the players felt they had to go to the PA is a complete indictment on Goodwin and our leadership group.. We are still feeling the effects because we have no leadership other than Gawn and Goodwin and his coaching staff are clueless how to fix our 'game plan'. Headless chooks the lot of them
  4. You have nailed it. Amazing some can't see this. The coaching department have completely lost the players. They have no idea how to fix it. Yeah, keep blaming injuries. FMD
  5. Hardly. Has barely got near the ball or his player.
  6. This is the real danger of the shiitefest we have witnessed this year. Supporters not showing up, not buying memberships, sponsors bailing, poor TV fixtures, supporters disengaging emotionally from what is essentially an emotional investment. A few of the nufs will say 'good riddance' but we can't afford to lose a single supporter and in particualr younger supporters. This club has an incredible ability to shoot itself in the foot.
  7. This Is the classic problem where players are either too scared to make the wrong decision, confused about which option to take, have lost trust in their team mates, are worried about their own stats (DE/T'OVERS) or simply don't have the right skills. Make no mistake this is a coaching and leadership issue. Goodwin and his team are devoid of answers. They are flailing in their jobs. Belatedly trying moves to rejig the team which ends up destroying any system or Morale that may be left. The year can't finish soon enough for us but sadly we are still left with the rotting carcass of an ineffectual and useless coaching panel for 2020. As for viney and Jones they should step down as captains. They have clearly failed.
  8. I think Max should be Captain next year and it really shows how devoid of leadership this club is but Viney has taken games and virtually won them by his sheer willpower. I am thinking principally of the game against West Coast in Perth 2 yrs ago where he had something like 14 possessions in the last quarter and was the reason we won (by a point). And the time he ran straight at the ball against adelaide and crashed into Alex Georgiou and the Adelaide player and came out with the ball. He has the ability to inspire but I think injuries have taken away a lot of his impact.
  9. I think plenty of us do know about it there are just some that won't acknowledge he is not AFL standard.
  10. Maybe they are trying to keep him away from the play lest he gives it straight back to the opposition....
  11. Well you were responding to my post. And your last line is probably similar to those who are making 2018 sound more than it actually was. Richmond made the prelim in 2001 by 68 points with Frawley in his second year as coach. They didn't play in finals again until 2013. Plenty of teams overrate their list and their club. Lets all hope we're not one.
  12. Puerile post by someone caught out being wrong. Thanks for playing.
  13. Not defending her but have been told that manufacturers often make different supplements using the same equipment so there is a possibility contamination can occur.
  14. It's pretty clear whatever they are they don't work
  15. That's not something I have have ever said.
  16. We are 17th in defence this year, 9th in 2018, 9th in 2017 and 11th in 2016. But we don't have any room for more defenders because ours are such guns.
  17. Its the manner of the losses, the repeating of the same mistakes, the inability of players to perform simple tasks for a professional footballer and the inability of the coaching staff to articulate a clear plan and execute. And the fact we have been listening to the same shiite for way too long
  18. I heard the interview in question. he said that he had seen it live. So when he said he hadn't watched it again he was clearly saying he hadn't watched a replay. Some nuffies here seem to think that he would lie about that.
  19. Our defence is the 17th best in the league
  20. There is a lot of revisionism around here...
  21. Are you calling him a liar? If he wanted to cut it short he could easily have said 'Yes we reviewed it and moved on'.
  22. So if you have on opinion it doesn't count unless you want to run for the board and control the club? Is that what you are saying? Are the current and previous boards beyond criticism?
  23. Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin is so determined to see his club move on from last year’s preliminary final humiliation at the hands of eventual premiers West Coast that he hasn’t even watched the full replay. The 42-year-old former Adelaide champion has only briefly touched on the experience with his players, instead opting to focus on 2019 and the Demons’ next tilt at a drought-breaking flag. “It’s been a pretty simple one for me,” Goodwin told SEN on Tuesday. “You look at your year in total and you try to keep perspective about where you’ve come from as a footy club and where you’re going. “I certainly haven’t looked back. I’ve been more inclined to look forward. “I haven’t dealt with it with the players. I actually haven’t really watched it again.”
  24. All the players have skills - some clearly better than others. The issue is they are confused and don't know what to do. It's like they get the ball and say to themselves 'don't mess this up', 'hit the target, 'give the ball off to the nearest team member', 'kick the ball to an outside runner', 'handball backwards to a team mate running forward', ''switch the play but FFS don' t kick to the corridor', 'play on quickly but don't turn it over, or kick to a dangerous spot, or a one-on-one',.. .. all in the split second before than are tackled to the ground. So then they rush their decision or are frozen by fear hence the shocking turnovers. This adds to the pressure and players trust in their team mates. Also the players distrust of the coaches. Once that breaks down, people don't run to position, do the 1%ers for their opponents and they start playing for themselves.. Its cancerous. And when there is little on field leadership it all goes downhill, Compare this to an Al Clarkson coached side. They have a well drilled game plan and know where to kick to, where to run and when to switch. Fagan has borrowed it and because he has Hodge on field coaching it has come together very quickly. Goodwin is stubborn and insists on playing 'the melbourne way' whatever that is, regardless of how the game is being played, the weather conditions, the opposition, our personnel or the scoreboard. You see that from his ridiculous team selections at times. The only times I have really seen him vary this approach significantly is against WCE 2 weeks ago when we should have won, and against WCE in rd 22 last year. We supporters know how the team plays and can almost write the script. Watch Houli get 30 damaging touches this weekend , Jack kick 6. and Dylan Grimes look like a superstar.
