Training at Little Athletics?
-
This shows the sheer genius of Kevin Sheedy and why he is one of the game's great thinkers. He has salary cap issues but needs big bodied players so he drafts one who's already included in his club's total player payments anyway. Sheer brilliance!

Obviously training at that altitude makes you higher than Joe Cocker!

The doona did it! Carlton captain Chris Judd hurt his shoulder in bed Story comes from the Herald Suns "Confidential reporters"

Well said and thanks on behalf of the moral majority.

Phat chance.

I do too but I'm a bit worried about the pick nominated at pick 52. Is Neeld testing the commentators' skills of pronounciation?

Is Pendelbury's father an overweight roof tiler?

GTG is only asking you to do a John Lennon and use your imagination. It's an interesting thought.

You could have added another alternative after the part about losing 25kg - "or until hell freezes over"

Does anybody believe he missed games with a knee injury any more? Surely the biggest deception was to his teammates? How can you go into battle with someone who isn't committed to the cause?
-
Correct. That's all that was needed. The rest is bulltish.

I know of a bank in Nigeria that will give you a better return for your money if you send me the $100.

The whole world knows everything these days. The story goes that a number of clubs were interested in Liam Jurrah a few years ago. Scouts were sent to Darwin. They all saw each other there and a few days later they were all spying at training when the Warlpiri Wizard was invited to North Melbourne. You can play your cards close to the chest but you can't hide much these days and your recruiters need to put time into players if you're serious about getting them.

Wrong thread. Should be in blah blah blah.

I take it that Scully's still in rehab with the knee?
-
No. GWS is doing what it's doing because, unlike the GCS, it can't attract established stars in the 23 to 27 year ago group so it plundered some young players leaving it with a list that will find it hard to achieve success in the short term and lacking in the basis for a proper team build in the medium term. Time will tell but I have them down for a massive fail.

I think Denham's mind snapped the day we gave Nathan Carroll the flick. Still holds a grudge that we didn't keep him on the list.

$urprise, $urprise, $cully $enior Employed by GW$
Deeman replied to The Song Formerly Known As's topic in Melbourne Demons
Rumour doing the rounds in Rooty that GWS bought the local Jenny Craig franchise for Mr. and Mrs. $cully. Unconfirmed ATM but if true, would that come under the cap? -
Why thank you. My favourite animal is a horse.

Pardon me but shouldn't this be in the other Scully thread? What's that? Really? He took the GWS offer? Your kidding but he said ...

What a fantastic gesture from Jimmy Stynes to offer Mitch Clark his number 11 guernsey!

To me, he'll always be regarded as Ned Scully. Not because he took the money and did a runner but because of the contempt in the way he and his camp treated this football club, its players and supporters. Thankfully, we have enough good people at that club to overcome and Ned's previous presence at the MFC will be well and truly erased when the first siren sounds at the start of next season.
