Some rumours that Cox may also miss. Would be a nice suprise.

Gee I miss this team...

I would think that winning a game is the incentive. Especially for lower placed teams who are starved for wins. And it gives less incentive to try to lose a game, which I believe is the bigger issue.

It seems that there is no real answer to the question, and that tanking will always be around in some form. For me, the lottery system seems the best and reduces the certainty of the result. I like the weighted version where if you use 8 teams for example 16th gets 8 balls to be picked from the barrel 15th gets 7 balls etc until 9th gets 1 ball The AFL could still even add extra balls to a team as a priority pick. There is still a chance that 9th could get pick 1, and 16th get pick 8, but it is unlikely. This system gives more benefits to lower placed teams, whilst still not making the ladder position and pick so certain, therefore reducing the definitive result in tanking.

Casey V Sandy HUN Amazing to read the Hun report as opposed to the reports from here. It seems as if Jurrah and Sylvia were amazing yesterday. Wow!

Jimmy, You are, and will always be an absolute legend of our club. It is absolutely inspirational stuff that you continue to fight for our club, whilst continually battling for your own life. Impossible to describe how great you truly are. For no-one else but yourself and your family, we hope to see you back on top again soon.

Apologies if someone has already mentioned this: On the radio yesterday, Billy Brownless suggested to Viney that all the supporters were going to come to the game against Carlton wearing a white headband. I think he was joking, but I reckon it is a top idea. At the very least, it is a distraction from all the other crap that is going on. Top way to show our support for Viney too. I am off to the local sports shop.

I read this in the paper this morning. Whilst it is mostly fair, I thought that it was a bit harsh including Sam Blease in the list of list cloggers. He has only played 1 game and was out for a year and a half with a broken leg FFS.
-
Yeah, Maybe we could get someone like Cale Morton.

He will be able to claim most of that back on boots and washing of his uniform.

Bailey ,Roos, Malthouse or Clarkson?
The Great One 99 replied to GRUN DEE's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think Bailey will still be coaching us next year. If MM wants the job, then we should give it to him. Otherwise, stick with DB. I do not want Clarkson. Never liked him much. -
Why does it say, "Why:" at the end of each player, yet none have a reason? Have I missed something?

I would agree with this. I think Bennell was pretty good up there last year. OUT : Morton IN : Tapscott

Trying not to stereotype them, but I would imagine that the girls handing out the flyers were not the brightest. They probably thought that the kids were cute and they were giving them a present. It is not an excuse, but i'm tipping (no pun intended) that they did not even think about what they were doing. I dont think they are paid for their intellect.

Exactly. The tackle was almost identicle to the Dangerfield one. Dangerfield = 3 weeks Ward = Free kick. How ridiculous is that.

6. McKenzie (Outstanding, again, by far our best for me) 5. Petterd 4. Trengove 3. Howe 2. Watts 1. Jones

Champion of our club. Great loss way too soon. Just so wrong. Best memory of one day at Catland when Sean kept Ablett snr to 1 goal, and basically toweled him up. Can't remember the year, but I gave it to my Geelong supporting friend even though we lost.

Jack Trengove or Jack Watts thread. I think the later has already had a few big ones. Although I think they will commit sooner and hopefully it wont happen.

With the exeption of Warnock, I would suggest that Rivers, Garland and Chip all work forward and give us drive. Warnock would be a good match for Hall, and we may need more options if the Dogs play Lake forward.
-
Warnock for Joel Mac (inj) Blease in for Morton. I would play Blease as the sub if he comes in. If Morton plays, he needs to start. He just couldn't get into the game when he came on, and I think that he is not a great option as a sub because he is not really an impact player. If he does get another game, then he really needs to show something. I would also love to see the Bull back, but I think he could get a run at Casey for a week first. Bennell stays for me too.

6. Brent Maloney 5. Jack Watts 4 Nathan Jones 3. Jordie McKenzie ( I think Cotchin is currently trying to remove Jordie from his car) 2. James Frawley 1. Jared Rivers ( Toss up between Riv and Garland, but I went with Rivers)

I dont read forums from other sides. Is this sort of bagging directed to other clubs common? I dont really feel that we attack other clubs and their supporters as much as this. (We mostly attack our own). To me it seems a bit sad. Looking forward to a ripper game. Can't wait for the Frawley Reiwoldt contest. I reckon Chip has had his measure mostly, but it is going to be a good match up on Saturday, and into the future.

Not much love for Garland. He was having a blinder before he went off. Still played 3 great quarters.
