  1. "Melbourne's Clayton Oliver has six disposals at 100 per cent efficiency in the last ten minutes to be a key to the Demon's comeback" Done not too much all day, but when needed the kid rises up. Give him a couple more seasons to get his tank 100% and develop his outside game and he'll be the champion mid we have so long been needing
  2. I'm getting sick and tired of us virtually always giving teams decent leads. We have to work our arses off just to get back into the game. How about working hard right from the start? You never know how that may work out. FMD.
  3. Why do we persist with TMAC up forward? It worked once nearly 2 months ago, it hasn't since. Stupid stupid stupid. Our mids have been pathetic, don't want it enough, our backs panic too much and just kick in hope, and our forwards don't even look interested. BTW great idea to take Petracca off the ground straight after he kicked a goal, then to only have him come back on 40 seconds later. At the moment we don't know what to do off-field, just as much as on-field. Vince is finished, Lewis obviously came here to fill up his retirement fund and Salem is very very soft. And can we please for the love of god move Vince to Sidebottom. He isn't doing any good in the back-line and Sidebottom is just cutting us up at will.
  4. 41k is still a good effort. If we make finals this year, expect it to be up around 43-44k next year, make finals 2 years in a row, i'm tipping a jump to 47k in 2019.
  5. He can play predominantly forward and give Max a chop out when he needs it (Max could go to the bench or rest up forward). Give Hoges the CHF position. It's the one he should be playing.
  6. There's a good reason why Cam's been able to play as our designated ruck since both Gawn and Spencer have gone down injured. That loss of 10kg's has allowed his endurance to go up a step.
  7. I know he gets a fair bit of the footy, but Jack Steven looks very, ahem, solid..............too. Been in a good paddock has Jack.
  8. Maybe, but possible ins like Hoges and Gawn will help
  9. Tippet's appetite for the contest has been long gone. IMO he seems to only be in it for the money now. Pass
  10. He definitely has the brains for understanding football, always has. In that regard he has always been good. He is just not able to execute it on game days, he has neither the skills nor the intensity required to play the game the way it is played now (this is no slight or negative shot at Col - he has played 141 games at the highest level, and survived what can only be described as the most turbulent period in the entirety of the MFC's existence). Col has gotten the most out of his footballing talent (and then some), but he is simply not up to AFL standard anymore. He's not the only one that is also on our list.
  11. Brayshaw Self sums it up nicely. He has no damaging qualities. They may play different roles, but Balic's outside influence makes Tyson's inside influence look like it's the best in the league. He has had little to no influence in any game he has played. He reminds me of Hayden Crozier in that he is neither a good nor bad player, but rather a nothing player as he has zero influence on a game.
  12. With Col looking more likely to have played his final game of football (and our need for more KPD's), one could read into it that we are somewhat confident that our preferred scenario in whatever it is we are trying to do will play out.
  13. The only reason why Garland is still on our list is because of the extremely generous 3 year deal he signed. If he had been OOC for any of the past 2 years, he would have been de-listed. And it's not a whack Nasher. It just a simple observation (and an accurate one at that) that Garland is simply no longer good enough to maintain a place on our list. I know for a fact he's a good bloke and a great club man, but from a football point of view, he no longer is. Sorry if that offends you Nasher, but the simple truth is, if we are to improve as a football team, the dead wood needs to be cut away. Garland (prior to his unfortunate ACL) has been around that area for a few years now.
  14. Well he is due!
  15. Out: Garland; In: Lever - Our list looks better already
  16. Painful, but let's visit the 2009 draft shall we. Pick 1 - T$ - bust (though compo did help us land Hogan) Pick 2 - Trenners - unfortunately a bust (was tracking well early days ) Pick 11 - Jordan Gysberts - Bust Pick 18 - Tapscott - Bust Pick 34 - Max Gawn - Yay we got one right! Pick 50 - Fitzpatrick - Bust One out of six. With 5 picks in the top 34 (4 in the first 18). This draft could've wielded the likes of Martin, Talia, Fyfe, Carlisle along with Gawn. A back-line set, an AA ruckman and 2 A-grade mids. Christ, BP really did screw the pooch on this one, FMD.
  17. It just takes them a half of football to get it right.
  18. Vickery gets way more of the ball than Tippet does (Ty doesn't get a lot, which shows how little Tippet gets). Tippet went from being one of the leading forwards in the game at Adelaide, to one of the worst at Sydney. I'd take Pedersen every day of the week over Tippet. At least Pedo plays with heart, intensity and has an influence on the game. Tippet has no influence on a game (neither good nor bad), that in itself is pretty damning.
  19. We're gonna need to offer more than $500k per year to get him out of Adelaide. With the new CBA and salary cap increase, he'd be looking at $700k+ a year.
  20. At the very least. Would be willing and happy to give up our 1st and 2nd round picks for him.
  21. Slobbo proving how much of a clue he does not have. The bloke is a disgrace. If it were an Essendon player and they had a sneeze, he'd defend them to the bitter end. How that imbecile is the head footy writer in a major paper is still beyond me.
  22. No Wise, cause those are the players' that are going to miss the cut at the end of the year!
  23. Apart from Rory Thompson, Jordan Roughead and Jake Carlisle, there are no 200cm defenders. Talia is 197cm, Hurley is 193cm, Hooker is 197cm, Taylor is 195cm, Henderson is 196cm, Day is 197cm, May is 193cm, Davis is 197cm, Rance is 194cm, McGovern is 195cm. Of those i'd say that Talia, Hurley, May and McGovern play the more traditional role of FB (average height = 194.5cm) Carlisle isn't setting the world on fire, Roughead is perpetually injured and Thompson has also struggled to get on the park recently. It seems that anywhere between 193-197cm is a good height for a fullback and Lever is right in the middle at 195cm.
  24. PM BBO, he'd be up for it!
