  1. Fitz and Spencil will never be more than cover depth. It's just their luck that we only have an up and come-er and a decent ruck on his last legs. If we were able to bring in a decent/serviceable ruck with some experience (or even the likes of a Smith/Gorringe from GC), i wouldn't hesitate in giving both the flick.
  2. As much as it would be great to bring Thomlinson in, I think you might be overestimating him a fair bit. Dawes is still a fair ways ahead of Thomlinson.
  3. I reckon we should try and go after Gorringe from the Suns. He isn't getting much opportunity up there and he could rotate with Gawn in the forward-line as resting ruck. Howe + first round pick for Prestia + Gorringe?
  4. Isn't he good mates with Dom Tyson?
  5. Well either Viney or Neeld are to blame for that monumental blunder. Who overruled who? As i have heard it both ways. Did Neeld overrule Viney, or was it the other way around?
  6. We'll have better picks to trade for Prestia or Treloar than Geelong, plus Prestia will play for us or stay at gc.
  7. Prestia trade aside, i wouldn't mind trying to get Gorringe. He's out of favour at the Suns and with Jamar on his last legs, we need someone to help out Max.
  8. Well if he came to us, i'd personally drive him down there and back every time he wanted. Solved. Next.
  9. Yes, fitting genuine quality into the team will be hard................ Um no. If we are lucky enough to bring him in, finding him a spot in the best 22 will not be hard at all. He would straight away improve the quality and depth of our team.
  10. Still got a lot of player's to move on.
  11. The only one he is a fan of is himself.
  12. I'd prefer doing that, replacing players known to be sub-afl standard with unknowns. As opposed to keeping list cloggers, who won't take us forward.
  13. At least O'Meara would have a good excuse for not running after players'
  14. McKenzie, M Jones, Bail and Terlich would head the list for me at the moment.
  15. At 189cm and 87kg, he's that big bodied mid that PR seems to love. Has some pace about him too.
  16. Is that a question Song?, if it is..........i don't, if it isn't................i agree
  17. I'd rather chase Prestia than Aish.
  18. Injuries aside, he has done nothing since 2011. That's coming up on 4 years. Toumpas has been on our list for 3 and people are calling for his head.................
  19. Rather than list those who could be gone come years end, i'll list those that i believe we need to keep (will save some time). The rest can be de-listed or traded for all i care. Must keep in order of appearance on mfc website: Hogan, N Jones, Salem, Viney, Lumumba, Brayshaw, Gawn, Tyson, Dunn, Stretch, Kent, Frost, Vince, Kennedy-Harris, T McDonald, Petracca, O McDonald, Neal-Bullen, Garlett, Jetta, vandenBerg. That's 21/44 spots on the main and rookie list. Keep in mind these are the "must keeps" which include draftees from last year (too early to possibly cull). Others not listed will no doubt play a role and some of them will be important roles. KPD's - 4 (Dunn, Frost, T McDonald, O McDonald) SPD's - 3 (Salem, Lumumba, Jetta) Mids - 6 (N Jones, Viney, Brayshaw, Tyson, Vince, Petracca) Rucks - 1 (Gawn) KPF's - 1 (Hogan) SPF's - 3 (Kent, K-H, Garlett) Other - 3 (Stretch, N-B, vandenBerg) In my breakdown, it highlights our need for more 'must keep' Rucks, KPF's and Mids that can play in numerous positions. Nothing we didn't already know. As already highlighted by another thread, fix our midfield problems and we give our forwards more opportunities and can negate our ruck weaknesses by roving the opposition. We also need to find ourselves another quality KPF to support Hogan, as Dawes is clearly not it. Another good ruckman (provided Gawn makes it) will help handle the ruck load. Our priorities for draft/trade: 1 - Mids 2 - KPF 3 - Ruck
  20. Apparently 7pm Melbourne time. Though i'd be listening in from 6.30pm just in case.
  21. The fact that he backs himself in every single time....................................oh wait
  22. We have another mid coming through for us next year in Jake Lovett, so if Brayshaw and Petracca come to us in this draft, Lovett next draft and the likes of Salem, Viney, Tyson and even Toumpas, surely that should alleviate our midfield woes.
  23. I would obviously expect Brayshaw (if we draft him) to play the most games next year out of all (*our) draft picks, however, i agree that even for someone with as developed a body as his, the step up to AFL level is huge. And would be ridiculous to think or expect a 1st year player to play all 22 games (Wines is the exception with big bodied first year players', not the rule).
