At the onset of winter dormancy………….I think not. Ask me again during September 😜

The MCG and Docklands use eclipse stabilised turf, so wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what we’re going for. Which means we could be training back at Gosch’s very soon. The ultimate benefit of the system is its ability to perform to international sports standards immediately after installation https://www.hgturfgroup.com.au/projects/melbourne-cricket-ground

TifTuf is a type of hybrid Bermuda (couch), that is harder wearing and requires less watering than standard couch. Kikuyu is probably the most aggressive growing grass type there is (good for self repairing from wear). These 2 are recommended as having a soil base (generally a sandy loam), zoysias are recommended as having a pure sand base and fescues can establish in that type of subsoil as well. Just a bit of a hobby of mine, I’m by no means an expert on the matter.
  4. Please excuse my ignorance, but going by the MFC website it says that ā€œat this stage all 3 players will have completed their isolation period prior to playing st. kildaā€. So does this mean that at the moment they are considered close contacts only?

Hmm so turf being laid and not sewn by seed. Tif Tuf or kikuyu my guess. Though the sandy base may indicate some type of zoysia or tall fescue
  6. Viney for Sparrow, Bedford/Melksham for Pickett. Dogga out sure hurts, as he gives Max a massive chop out. Hopefully no more out, but yesterday it was Goodwin, today is another 3, tomorrow? The whole round needs to be delayed so we can get our players back šŸ˜‹
  7. I dare say most teams would be willing to go into some type of isolation period for the finals
  8. Not sure if it has already been mentioned, but given some whispers on here suggesting both Viney & Lever had COVID, they will both be out of H&S protocols and available for the Dorks šŸ‘
  9. He has some rotten luck, getting hits to the head in unusual ways.
  10. Talk about capitulation. Hope we inflict a long overdue thrashing on them noon Saturday
  11. I’m neither a Smith fan nor critic and he has had some good games this year. But that one calamity on its own warrants for him to go back to the 2’s and work on his decision making skills for a good few weeks. Either he has completely panicked and wanted nothing to do with the ball (worrying for a lockdown defender), or he didnt look to see if he was giving it off to a teammate (poor peripherals). I’ve watched the replay several times, and I am perplexed by it every time. Those kinds of brainfades aren’t warranted in junior footy, let alone the AFL. Imagine if that cost your team a win. Joel needs to learn from that mistake. Many, many learnings.
  12. Smith has to be dropped for that inexcusable decision. It wouldn’t matter if he had a 100 disposal game and all 99 other possessions were 60m lace out passes, AFL footballers simply cannot make those kinds of mistakes…………..ever. Would like the points and goals to rotate positions next week
  13. Bowser - what a tackle
  14. I’m just glad that both run around in the red & blue jumper.
  15. You may just be a tad biased, but bl00dy hard to refute, Ollie.
  16. We owe them, after they had the nerve to draw with us last year
  17. Tiges played as big a part in that, which doesn’t surprise given they have a 5 day turnaround over in WA
  18. Well we pride ourselves on our contested game, which wet weather induces. At least it won’t hurt our accuracy.
  19. Nah doesn’t count, coz………………Melbourne
  20. Nope I want another goal to keep our % in check
  21. Facetious? I’m not in front of a tv
  22. Half his disposals have been goals. Quite a feat.
  23. Cue Tom Lynch Tigers comeback in 3, 2, ………….
  24. 2 straight. He’s an outlier tonight.
