How things have changed these past few years. The Grand Final is now our GF, not draft day.

Strung out over 2 nights 🤮 COVID was around this time last year and they still had it on the 1 night. Only good reason to have it go for so long over 2 nights is so that Gil can fawn over how good the GF was, and no matter the topic he should steer the conversation back towards the MFC’s greatness.

Don’t know about Mac Andrew with his rapid rise up draft order. One only needs to look at others who sprinted up the draft board to not deliver on expected output………………the Bontempelli’s the Oliver’s and the like 😝

That is really poor. They really should delay opening it up to the public until next week to ensure that members who want to go can get in first before non-believers.

Never rated Chris Doerre for having an eye for talent, this just sums it up perfectly. Been watching his appraisals all the way back since the late 00’s when he was just a bigfooty keyboard warrior and nothing much has changed. There’s a reason he hasn’t advanced from being draft guru at the AFL juggernaut that is ESPN.

Apparently next year has quality talls, so I reckon we go for the tall this year and snag a quality mid next year with other clubs preoccupied going for KPP’s themselves.

Don’t know what’s worse, not receiving my members code or being on hold on the phone to the club for 30 minutes and having the girl continually interrupting the playing of our song telling me ‘they are experiencing an extremely high volume of calls and my patience would be appreciated’……………….let me listen to the song without cutting in dammit Got through after 40 wonderful minutes on hold (not being facetious) listening to the theme song playing on a loop, minus the annoying interruption of being told the high volume of calls = waiting. As alluded to by @gwsampso, there has been a delay with AFL club support members getting their codes (but is being fixed at the minute). Those yet to receive their code, give the club membership line a call and they send an e-mail with your code instantly. Sure it’s 30+ minutes on hold, but there are worse ways to spend the time (FYI, just have the phone on loud speaker so everyone in the office can hear the song too 😀).

JT has said we are more so this year compared to other years, now looking to bring in players based on needs as opposed to best available. Understandable given we now have a premiership list and want to contend for as long as possible.

No doubt in my mind that Watts was the correct call for the #1 pick in 2008. Had we have selected Naitanui, there is no way we would’ve drafted Gawn in 2009.

Ummm…………..when was the last time either of them had 39 touches in a GF? Oh that’s right, never. Daicos was mercurial, but an extremely outside player. Martin is a glorified 1-way runner and doesn’t know how to defend to save himself. Trac has them both covered. p.s - as for the little things, I always dreamt of knowing the feeling of winning a premiership…..I am now living that dream ❤️. The nagging and anchoring feeling of failure has been replaced with a contentedness and joy that I have never felt before. Some say it’s just a game. BS………it’s the only game,
