  1. Lever for mine. He’s been a leader from the beginning of his career. He’s also general out there on field, almost like an onfield coach. It’s a key reason why we brought him across from the Crows. Trac has definitely matured well the last few years, but I don’t see him as an organizer and coach out there. Best for him to lead by example, but not necessarily be captain.
  2. He is performing. He’s averaging 5 goals a game and was performing better than Ben Brown at the same level, yet Brown was promoted ahead of him. Brown had less goals, less marks, less tackles - promoted ahead of him. Weid has right to feel hard done by as he’s performing better than those around him, yet not getting the same opportunities at the next level. If I was him I’d be leaving. Why be loyal to a workplace that isn’t loyal to you? Why put in the work and outperform others, only to watch them promoted unjustly ahead of you? We need to keep improving our culture and reward those performing well, not those with a bigger name or reputation.
  3. Deserves to be playing in our AFL team on form at present and will rightfully look to leave at end of year. He’s too good for VFL, is in ripping form there, and would comfortably play a role in our forward line at present. At 23 years of age, he’s a key part of our future forward line. Brown, TMac, M Brown are all 29+ and near the end. Jackson is no good as a tall forward and projects as a ruckman and midfielder. If we lose Weid, our list demographic breaks.
  4. Out: Tomlinson (inj), Baker, Jones In: Petty, Sparrow, Harmes
  5. YES! YES! YES! We love you Trac!
  6. Bring on the formal announcement!
  7. Over. 1.1-1.2 million I suspect. 7 years is too long for any player IMO. So much can happen in that time. He’ll be 33 when that contract ends. Good to see the clubs doing everything in its power to keep him though. All our stars are signing on. It’s a big shift from earlier in the decade where they would leave en masse!
  8. Good news and right decision. Thank god that’s over and we can get on with the match having our leading goal kicker playing!
  9. Cmon Dees. Stand up and fight this incorrect suspension.
  10. Well deserved. He was brilliant yesterday, and really took control of the game in the third quarter. He’s still not great as a marking tall forward, but around the ground and in the ruck he’s looking phenomenal for his age. Well done Dogga!
  11. Challenge it. Challenge it hard and make some real noise in the media. This horse**** cannot stand. Time for the club to stand up. We always seem to get a poor run at the tribunal and we just bend over a take it. Multiple other players got off for similar incidents (Dangerfield and Hipwood as examples), so should Fritsch. If that’s suspension worthy, then players are officially no longer allowed to protect themselves from impact and the rules of the game need to be altered.
  12. He didn’t intend to flatten someone, he braced for contact. He instinctively raised his arm to protect himself having his ribs broken by an opposition player barreling into him low at waist and chest height. He raised his arm instinctively to protect an injured hand in a brace, and did well not to raise his arm or shoulder any higher. He actually prevented serious injury by not following through. If he’s suspended, then we should challenge. If he’s suspended, then contact rules of the game need to be altered as a result, as players should be allowed to brace themselves for heavy contact.
  13. If he does get a week then we have to challenge. To compare to recent incident dismissed: Fritsch - In play accidental forearm to head of opposition player who was a waste height bending down to bump/tackle. Fritsch is bracing for contact with split second time to react and the opposition player played out the game. Fritsch has no MRP record. Hawkins - In play accidental elbow to the face caved in Mays eye socket and he missed the remainder of the match and subsequent weeks match. Hawkins also has a horrible MRP record.
  14. 100% this. Dusty fends off high every week, often recklessly to the head or throat. He never even gets cited for head high contact. I still remember he did a high fend off on Jordie McKenzie years ago that hit his throat and Jordie came from the ground with breathing issues. Not cited, not even a free kick. The rules don’t apply for Martin apparently! What is Fritsch supposed to do in this scenario? Not try to protect himself and just accept broken ribs? He was about to be cleaned up by a guy coming in at waist and chest height. He had less than half a second to react in mid air and just braced himself for strong contact. He honestly did an incredible job not to raise his arm and shoulder higher and completely cave in the guys skull. The North player was dazed for a bit but then played out the game. It was possibly the best result injury wise for both players. If he gets suspended for that then the game is officially a non contact sport going forward. Not even worth a fine.
  15. Not even worth citing. He took the ball and in less than half a second attempted to fend off a tackler who came in at waist height. If anything he should be commended for not taking the guys head off. Fantastic technique from Fritsch not to let his arm raise any higher. If he gets suspended then it’s basically confirmation that contact is no longer allowed. A player is allowed to defend himself when about to be crunched, and Fritsch should be commended for minimizing the damage. North player played out the match with no concussion also. Nothing to see here.
  16. Wake up Melbourne. You’re about to lose to a winless rabble devoid of talent who couldn’t even train properly this week!
  17. Very lazy today and playing like trash, yet still only a few points down. Once we get going we should get well on top. Sidenote, Baker is not up to it. Doesn’t ha e the smarts, skills or stamina on the wing or in the middle. Only chance left to save his career is as a pressure forward IMO. His only good game at afl level thus far was when he kicked a few ripping goals.
  18. Melksham and Gus to spend time in the guts you’d think
  19. Because GWS need more top 5 picks. Bloody hell!
  20. Kicked 4 goals in his debut game for GWS. His leading was strong and he was a key contributor for them in their win. Best of luck Jesse in staying healthy and getting out on the park more often. Just try to keep quiet if you ever play against us!
  21. Nup, [censored] him. He walked out. He’s constantly injured. We’ve got his position well covered now. We’re winning this year off the back of good culture, our team hasn’t really changed. Why mess with positive culture by bringing him back?
  22. Having sat through years and years or hopeless rubbish, I do feel for North supporters. Now back to the task at hand... This should be a percentage boost. I want top spot on the ladder.
  23. Smart boy he is then! Nankervis is the definition of a big average role player, exists purely to try and negate his opponent.
  24. They are trash. Who can forget them spitting on their own players coming off the ground a few years back.
  25. Took a few years to get over health issues and build himself up, but he’s brilliant now. This year has been his best season yet and he should be in all Australian conversations. Great signing and show of faith by both player and club!
