Good write up Lucifer. Won't be first rounder for Brown. Few picks and players discussed. Treloar sounded very unlikely. Philips not sure, as Josh keeps spriuking the internal candidates to fill the wing role line. He also mentioned during discussion of future first trade with North for Pickett that we would like to move our first pick of 25 higher if possible. Always wanting to get a higher position in the draft.

Hard pass. Would prefer to bring Dean Turlich out of retirement than bother with a broken Jack Steven.

Tmac has ongoing foot and ankle problems. He will have to manage them for the remainder of his career, and they've clearly effected his ability to perform. He's less agile than my grandmother at this point! I have no doubts over is work ethic though. He's always been a strong trainer and high endurance athlete. He's also had to deal with having his first baby and then moving into a hub this year etc. His days as a KPF are done IMO. His form has been poor for two years, and with Brown coming in, Weid and Jackson both surpassed him this year too. I think he needs to move to the backline again. He'd have May and Lever as talls there with him now, unlike his time there in the past where he was the number 1 defender. He'd also be able to pass the ball off to Salem, Rivers, Hibberd etc as runners to rebound. It's worth a shot if he wants to save his career and if we want to get something for the giant contract we're stuck with if we can't move him on.
-
Not surprised by that. He's far more trouble than he's worth and hasn't played a decent game of football in years.
-
Haven't heard that, but reckon it's a great move. With Jetta on his last legs, getting another small defender in on the cheap would be smart.
-
Ahahahaha! He asks for proven players and first rounders. He asked for Butters! Imagine approaching a trade and saying we'll take that contracted 19 year old All Australian and give you an uncontracted 25 year old who's missed the better part of two years with injury and publicly wants out again. Dodoro is proper mental.
-
Baffling isn't it. We identified an issue, didn't land the player we targeted, so we'll bury our head in the sand and pretend the issue has disappeared. Brilliant stuff!

Narkle is a mid who rests forward, but hasn't been able to get on the park enough to play decent minutes in his preferred position yet. He's actually quite good in the guts, moves well through traffic and gets his hands free when tackled etc. He'd be a good addition to our midfield rotation as he's got good kicking skills and good agility, so adds a point of difference. Think a poor mans Shai Bolton. I'd take him on the cheap for sure to balance our midfield out more.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
Lord Travis replied to Dee tention's topic in Melbourne Demons
He's out of contract so we have the power here. Pick 23 should get it done quickly. No bending over like we did in 2017 when Lever was out of contract and we still ponied up two first rounders! -

Great news. Now lets get the trade done for pick 23 and move on quickly. This is a huge get for the club. He's the most productive tall forward we've had since Neitz. Even if he doesn't hit 60 goals a season again, he takes pressure off other so Weid is no longer double teamed and creates crumbing opportunities for Kozzy. Helps our forward line in many ways. Welcome Ben! -
Jesse Hogan on the way out at Freo?
Lord Travis replied to Bizzell Blitz's topic in Melbourne Demons
We apparently spoke to him last week and are not pursuing further. I'd wager he winds up at GWS but will likely be out of the game by age 26-27. -
Because he was horrible this year, just horrible. He shouldn't have got a game on form, and the coaches faith in him was proved to be misplaced. At 29 years old, he's likely not going to improve. Our half forwards were the worst performers this year. Melksham, Vanders, Neal-Bullen, Hannan. Fritsch is the only one who generated anything of worth, and even he was wayward with his shots at goal. We need to bring talent into that half forward role if we want to improve. If he stays fit, Narkle could potentially fill that midfield/half forward role.
-
Tom Philips yes please. Josh Thomas no thanks. Pass.
-
Correct. He apparently wants to chase another premiership, and believed that was more likely at the Cats, even with less time and less money on offer. Cats get Cameron, Higgins and Smith as free agents without needing to use a single draft pick. Mean we're over here having to trade two first round draft picks for an out of contract Jake Lever ? Free agency is broken!!!
-
Also, [censored] free agency. Cats are getting Cameron, Smith and Higgins without using a single draft pick. The system is massively broken.
-
Official. Two year deal to the Cats. https://www.afl.com.au/news/523321/hawk-stunner-veteran-wingman-wants-to-join-arch-rival-geelong No need to hang @Dr evil out to dry. My mail was this was basically a done deal weeks ago for 3 year contract, but then I got radio silence the past fortnight. Things change. We move on to other younger targets hopefully.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN

Agreed. Definitely need more smalls to apply pressure. Melksham needs a rocket and Fritsch needs to sort out his goal kicking. -
I liked what I saw from him last year and reckon he's exactly what we need. I think he'll be gone before any of our picks though unless we get up to a top 10-15 pick somehow.

Did you also get cancer yourself in the months after your father died from cancer? Did you have the media always watching and photographing your recreational activities? Did you have other pressures from your job playing out publicly? Did you have other health issues directly related to your job impeding you? Did you have family pressures forcing you to relocate while experiencing health issues and trauma? Jesse has made poor choices for sure, and his career will likely be cut short as a result. Your comments however are a bit misguided and insensitive.- 609 replies

Higgins is looking to leave Richmond. Saints, Pies, North and us reportedly keen. He has good kicking skills, good footy IQ and decent pace. Could be a good midfield and forward rotation for us. No inside info at this stage, but watch this space.
-
We also need more midfielders with good kicking skills and dash. He could rotate midfield, wing, forward and it'd make us a better team IMO.
-
Jack Higgins has been mentioned a few times on here and is officially wanting to move on from Richmond. He's contracted though so trade will need to occur. Is he a good target for us? He's a forward/mid with decent pace and skills so suits our needs you'd think....

Jesse Hogan on the way out at Freo?

Sad the way his career played out. His first few years were brilliant for a young tall forward and he had potential to become an elite KPF of the competition. I feel for him, as he had to deal with some horrible stuff with his fathers death and then his own subsequent illness and fitness. It seems now he's well into the gear to the point where he might not be in the game beyond age 25. Very sad and another talented Melbourne player whose potential went unrealised.
