MFC Nicknames 2025
Happy to claim that Harvey Langford doesn't mind "The Bison" or just "Bison" as a nickname. Whether it catches on we shall see? Apparently online it says Kade Chandler's nickname is "Google"?! I have never heard of him being called that before?! It's always been "Chin". With Jack Henderson coming on board to the Demons, I guess the logical nicknames are "Hendo" or "Henders". Otherwise, something unique like "The Hamster" or "The Ferret" perhaps? Because he is small and quick. However, he may have a better nickname from his Werribee teammates.

2025 Player Numbers
Hahahahaha! That's brilliant! 😁 "The Bison" is now official for Harvey Langford. Thank you for that! Never given an AFL player their own nickname before. I used to love "The Ox" David Schwarz though! I actually can't remember who gave him that nickname (maybe Garry Lyon?) but I do remember he apparently had a number plate on his car that said "The Ox" back in the late 1990s or early 2000s. Now we just gotta get BT and Bruce McAvaney to start calling Harvey Langford "The Bison" when they commentate on TV.

SSP contenders
Agreed. It's worth at least asking. The worst they can say is you gotta wait to the Mid-season Draft. Plus it would be good to get first dibs on Jai Culley or Roy George.

2025 Player Numbers
Don't tell me Harvey Langford or his teammates like the nickname "The Bison" or just "Bison"? I actually suggested "The Bull" or "The Bison" as a nickname in another post a few days ago. Mainly because he seems strongly built and very determined. Unfortunately, my nickname suggestions aren't as creative as Rex Hunt. But happy for "Bison" to catch on. 😎👍🏻

GAMEDAY: Match SIM vs North Melbourne
Was a good "blowing off of the cobwebs" in this practice match for the Demons against the Kangaroos. A few impressive things I noted from the highlights video I saw. However, it's hard to tell too much from a mere 5 minute video. Disappointing news about Andy Moniz-Wakefield and his knee injury. We have had rotten luck with injuries this past fortnight. Especially after losing Shane McAdam last week too. I feel heartbroken for both of them. 😢💔 I was going to suggest the Demons possibly asking the AFL for special consideration to have an extra SSP and get Jai Culley perhaps? But I doubt the AFL would give us any concessions as we are not a "big 4 club" like Collingwood. 🙄

Welcome to Demonland: Jack Henderson
Very pleased that the Demons media department did a brief interview with Jack Henderson so promptly. Excellent work by them! 😎👍🏻

Welcome to Demonland: Jack Henderson
Hoping the Demons media department do a 5 minute interview with Jack Henderson. Would be great to see! 😎👍🏻

2025 Player Numbers
I agree that jumper number #43 would be perfect for Jack Henderson. Could even get Guy Rigoni (a former wearer of number #43) back down to the Melbourne Football Club to present Jack his jumper in his first AFL game!

Welcome to Demonland: Jack Henderson
Some pretty glowing reviews from both Jason Taylor and Tim Lamb in the video shown. I think the Demons are pretty chuffed to have gotten him as a SSP, albeit due to unfortunate circumstances. I wish Shane McAdam a speedy recovery. Nevertheless, what is most impressive from Jack Henderson's highlights video is how clean he is with the ball and the fact that he can kick goals from outside 50 metres (which should almost be a prerequisite for all modern AFL players). I wish Jack Henderson all the best at the Demons!

Welcome to Demonland: Jack Henderson
Congratulations to Jack Henderson getting a chance at the Demons. His former Werribee Premiership teammate in Aidan Johnson will be incredibly excited to have him join us here at the Melbourne Football Club. Jack Henderson definitely reminds me a bit of Tom Papley from the Swans. Especially the way he moves. Good luck to him and I hope he grabs this opportunity to play AFL at the Demons!

MFC Nicknames 2025
Dunno why, but I liked it way back in the 1990s when Rex Hunt on the radio used to give various players all sorts of nicknames. Jeff Farmer was "The Wizard" or the "Primary Producer" and David Neitz was "Neita" or "Nice and Neitz". I could make up a few nicknames. But it all depends if they catch on? I like "The Bull" or "The Bison" for Harvey Langford. Just because he already has quite a physical presence. Xavier Lindsay "The Spreadsheet" is quite clever as has been previously suggested. I know Steven May gets "Frophies" from a couple of years ago. As for any others, I guess we shall wait and see when the season starts?

Training Ground?
Hopefully once the Demons have chosen their new CEO we shall see further updates on the Home Base at Caulfield Racecourse.

2025 MFC Injury List
A ruptured achilles tendon is a huge injury. It will sadly take Shane McAdam well over a year to fully recover from this injury. Rotten luck and my heart goes out to him. ❤️ However, best to put him on the Long Term Injury List and give another player a chance.

SSP contenders
Haven't posted in a while, but I am very sad to hear about Shane McAdam's rotten luck getting injured again. I was really hopeful he would have an impact this year. As for who should replace him as the Demon's SSP, I guess we shall wait and see? A few months ago I would of said Roy George. However, now it looks like many of us are leaning towards Jai Culley. I have faith in the MFC list management team. I am sure they are currently having these exact discussions.

The Legacy Series - Episode 1, Robert Flower
A wonderfully enjoyable video about the great Robbie Flower. I think it is long overdue that a statue of Robbie Flower should be placed at the MCG. Hopefully with Steven Smith taking over as MFC President later this year in 2025, that he can use his MCC connections to expedite this possibility.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Saturday 14th December 2024
Great to see the Demons players "training the house down" as they say. Hoping that Bailey Laurie has a huge impact in season 2025. 🤞🏻

Training Ground?
Yes, indeed. 😎👍🏻 Building a Home Base in the Demons traditional "Homeland" and old recruiting zone makes perfect sense. It will also benefit the local community in the Glen Eira area. The big challenge now will be getting the $100-$120 million dollars we need to build the Home Base.

Inside the Dees Draft Discussions.
Exactly! This is the type of content we wanna see! Well done Demons social media people! 😀👍🏻

The Roy George Thread
I don't know how the Demons can get him as a Category B rookie, especially due to the rules. But perhaps, we can apply for a special exemption if we ask the AFL "really" nicely? 🤷🏼♂️ The lack of Indigenous players in the AFL currently and the fact that we missed out on Mac Andrew and seem to be unfortunately (unfairly) missing out on Tairon Ah-Mu may give us some sympathy from the AFL?

Welcome to Demonland: Aidan Johnson
Aidan Johnson taking on the number #42 jumper. I wish him well and hope he gets unleashed against Brayden "the thug" Maynard. Will be the clash of the ages!

2025 Player Numbers
Happy with this, but also a bit surprised. Big wraps on Daniel "Disco" Turner giving him Angus Brayshaw's jumper number #10.
