2019 Jumper Numbers
These are my following suggestions; #1 Pruess #12 May #16 Kolodjashnij #21 Jordon #23 Bedford #27 Hore #32 Sparrow (I think there is video footage of him wearing this jumper number at junior club level?) #34 Neitschke #43 Chandler #46 Walker #50 Bradtke (I like the idea of him wearing the number his Father wore in the NBL for the Melbourne Tigers)

We’re going to win the Flag next year - what do you do when we do?
Hypothetically, if the Demons won the Premiership in 2019 I would cry tears of joy like the rest of us here. I have thought about painting myself red and blue and running around naked...but it's not worth getting arrested for. Probably get drunk and go to the celebrations the next day. I would definitely want a photo of me and my Dad with the Demon's newest Premiership cup.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Looks like Freo think Rory Lobb from GWS is the magical answer to their forward line I guess? ? Personally, I'm glad Jesse Hogan will be staying as Freo don't want him. I hope Jesse Hogan knows that we all want him to stay and win a Premiership with the Demons.

Nathan Jones' 250th.
Nathan Jones is a champion. He has endured a lot of pain and suffering while the Demons were hopeless in seasons past. He used to be our "shining light" in a team that was regularly getting thrashed. He could have gone to another AFL club to seek success but he stayed loyal to the Demons. He is an inspirational player and Captain. Nathan Jones deserves success! Congratulations on 250 games Nathan! I hope to see you play 100 more games and a few Premierships! Certainly would love to see Nathan Jones play well over 300 games and surpass David Neitz's record of 306 games for the Melbourne Football Club. Let's hope the Demons smash the Bulldogs this weekend in tribute to Nathan Jones playing his 250th game!

Give us some credit! (Media reaction merged thread)
I'm still very cautious. Been disappointed many, many times before. Just taking it one game at a time... Some recent history over the past 31 years or so. 1987: Too young to remember with Jimmy Stynes running through the mark and Gary Buckenara kicking the match winning goal after the siren in the preliminary final. Was heart-breaking that Hawthorn won a game that Melbourne should have won! 1988: Too young (fortunately) to remember seeing the Demons get destroyed by the Hawks by a massive 96 points in the Grand Final. The Hawthorn team in the 1988 Grand Final was simply too good. 1994: We had a great side but lost to West Coast in the Preliminary Final. Names like Schwarz, Lyon, Tingay, Jakovich etc...we had a star-studded line up. Injuries got the better of us too. 1998: Had a massive amount of momentum but lost to North Melbourne in the Preliminary Final. I remember Jeff Farmer taking that specky at the start of the game but missing the goal! Really thought we were a massive chance to win the Premiership that year after bouncing back from the Wooden Spoon in 1997. Sadly it wasn't to be! 2000: Had high hopes but Essendon were too strong beating us by 60 points in the Grand Final. Essendon were the best team all year. 2002: Lost that final to Adelaide in a game we should of won. Travis Johnstone had a blinder but our team run out of legs. 2004: Lost that close final to Essendon. The one where Matthew Whelan laid a terrific hip-and-shoulder on James Hird! 2005: Lost that final against Geelong (having Neitz injured was a big blow). 2006: After beating St. Kilda we lost the next week against Fremantle in a final. So lots of false hope and bitter disappointment in the past. There is certainly something special about this current team and I am excited...but also very nervous. Let's see how things pan out... A drought breaking Premiership would see the MCG awash with tears of joy from long-suffering Demons supporters. Nevertheless, I dare to dream. The Bulldogs, and the Tigers have won Premierships. Why not us? It is up to the Melbourne players themselves. As Paul Roos once said, they need to choose to be great.

No White for MFC Clash Jumpers for Season 2018
I'm not too fussed about us now wearing the red and royal blue jumper now as our "clash" jumper. It is better than wearing the white jumper. It takes us back to the days of the mid 1970s and early to mid 1980s when we used to wear these colours. Let's just hope we can win far more games than we did in those days! For those interested here is a video link showing the new red and royal blue "clash" jumper. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/video/2018-01-22/clash-jumper

Josh Lyon - is the son of a gun a gun?
If he is big and tall and strong then I think it would be worth having a look at him? I guess we'll see if he tries out with the Sandringham Dragons or Oakleigh Chargers and is serious about playing AFL. It would be great to see a new Lyon at the Demons. ☺ Let's hope he isn't as grumpy as his old man though!? ??? In the end, it is up to any individual (son of a gun or not) if they have the skill, desire and motivation to play AFL.

Josh Lyon - is the son of a gun a gun?
Didn’t Garry Lyon have about 3 or 4 sons? Good news if at least one of them ends up playing for the Demons.

DEBT DEMOLITION
Are people still donating money to the MFC via Debt Demolition? I hope they are? I think the website should continue going until we wipe out ALL the debt that the Melbourne Football Club owe completely! In many ways we could easily do this and I'm sure those at the MFC will know this and will keep it going for as long as it takes. If we have raised almost $3.1 million dollars already then I'm sure that we can continue to have fundraisers at the MFC. Perhaps the MFC should even consider doing a bit of fundraising at the Melbourne Football Club players Best & Fairest night?

DEBT DEMOLITION
I hope Garry Lyon reminds people on the Footy Show tonight about the Demon Debt Demolition website. Luckily, I get my tax return next week so I'll be able to donate a bit of money too!
