  1. I sure am. If he is caught having done something untoward then he will have his own problems. The AFL has all but signed off on our money. That wont change now. What hes doing or rather what they *( the AFL ) are doing for the MFC is separate from any dealings that AD might have with the murky world of Essendon Pharmaceuticals !!
  2. Well of course thered be.. "Lucky, youre @ AAMI !! " there might be "Up there Howey, up there and fly Climb on a shoulder and showem your height Up there Howey, take a hanger ag'in Fight like a Demon, you're out there to win " or the lesser know "Rapt for Roos !! "
  3. shh No logical questions please ..lol
  4. youre not alone Old...its does get to that point where footy , dare I say it gets put back in the pecking order, though my wife would swear Im a footy tragic , I think its that I tragically follow footy !!lol am off to Echuca myself this weekend !
  5. Did Demetriou tip off the Bombers the day before they supposedly outed themselves ? ASADA aware of phonecall by AFL ( Demetriou ) to Evans during their crisis meeting (News - Herald Sun) Murkier and Murkier !! It seems apparent to this reader that the AFL ought have no involvement with this investigation as it seems it cant be trusted to be maintain intergity. Tsk Tsk Tsk Andrew. If this can be substantiated youre for the chop mate.
  6. would have thought his background was perfect for the soon to be vacant Essendon gig
  7. channel nine news fanning the rumour fire suggesting we';re front runners for him. Am sure Melbourne will be associated with everyone from the boot studder up from here on in til all posts are filled. Fun and games !!
  8. like most things OD, its all in the preparation !! Funny though . If the post had said 6.30 i wouldnt have thought twice in all likelyhood., as it might and still is plausible he might have gone there. Though clandestine get togethers are easier in a big town like ours ahhh smoke and mirrors , spoons and daggers !!!
  9. Its curious timing if nothing else
  10. If he'd only checked the airlines' schedules it might have been more convincing
  11. I would have been more interested in Laidley whence last we looked for a coach. This time round Im hoping for Choco, settle ( happily ) for Roos and not disappointed ( though not overwhelmed by idea either ) of Eade. make a good midfield coach for us though
  12. It still surprises me that there isnt more love for good ol Wattsy. As another ( others) have already mentioned its been a jittery journey to date but hes finally getting it all to fall into place. I think he is often unfairly maligned. Where he plays isnt really his choice. I think he's been f'd around by the club regarding role from breakfast to tea, but through all this in the main , hes tried valiantly. Unlike some others he doesnt leave much on the ground. He mightnt shine like a star yet but he would definitely be on a list of only about 8 that I would consider must keeps. Anotherh preseason, another coach and regime might just be the recipe for his eventual elevation into the A's and people want to get rid of him.... wtf.. Must be the TGIAGOTOSOTF syndrome.
  13. might be all just past of a ruse !!!
  14. poor bastard, must be on the phone ALLLLL day !!!
  15. Well we have six odd games to go (some more odd than others ) which leaves a good month and a bit for the good ol' Dees to be loosely associated or interested in just about anyone still alive with any form of senior ability and success. Probably more headlines to concentrate on the senior more than the sucess Ive nothing particular as to fors or against regarding Laidley. He strikes me as passioned and workmanlike. Im not sure he is the one to claw us back , not as the senior coach. He does however have a good working history with Choco. is this simply a case of our ever eager media getting their wires crossed a bit ? If we were looking to Choco as #1 maybe he has asked about Laidley . Who knows really. I think you have to contain the search to senior experienced coaches with some sort of success at finals. Strangely Laidley could fir that criteria but I wouldnt rate his finals as being the crowning point. He does manage to extract quite a bit from otherwise less glamourous lists. Melbourne did go after him once before but that may simply offer a historical coincidence more than anything else to this writer Then again it could all be just more smoke and mirrors as the 'game' continues. This week Laidley, next week who ? lol
  16. Nothing to lose. ... We'll be accused of tanking !! lol
  17. Im not..youre coming here and professing a fact fact is Jetstar had no 5.30 flight Now you may well have seen Roos, but you get jumpy the sec someone questions validity. according to qantas the first flight was 6.30...just saying
  18. First jetstar flight ex Melb to Perth seems to leave at 7.15 am
  19. brrr, brrr ...brrr,brrr... "hello" "Mr Willaims" "yeah" "Peter Jackson here from the Melbourne Footy club" .........
  20. Chookrat et al Im not for one moment suggesting all efforts and resources arent thrown at Mitch in the hope that he can do a Richo. Im not sure why anyone would assume so. My whole stance has /is, what happens if that doesnt occur. im excited to watch him play in our red and blue. He brings something we lack in crate loads to our team. My whole point , which many seem incapable of understanding , for it requires the separation of widget and results , is what happens if he doesnt. Nothing so far indicates that isnt without a distinct possibility. Where have I ever suggested he not be afforded the chance to play ? ( not necessarily aimed at you btw ) or be aided to the max to recouperate. Why on earth would i want him not to participate. Hes integral to our forward hopes. I want him to play. Im simply playing devils advocate as to where we are, and how we deal with the notion he doesnt.
  21. well the ACC ASADA and ADRVP are ALL gov...lol.. More chefs than a Telly show !!
  22. "The ADRVP appointed by the Federal Sports Minister" not by the AFL
  23. Im afraid you have no privilege over that notion
  24. I can see PSD's point. There are indeed numerous valid pov regarding all of this and as would be the norm they are all dependent upon 'this' or 'that'. I do find it hard to go past OD's perspective regarding how our current state of affairs which seems akin to some sort of morphing form a state of disarray to organised ( if not actually resplendent ) , might affect how players will view the contract table. I think both Max and the Club are practising sensible regard for each other here. If Hogan or Frawley, I ( like OD suggests ) might be a little more coy to being hasty with pen. It ought to be much more like plain sailing once our Board, our FD and Coaching appointments are all set . Not much to take into consideration as a potential signee reall is there !!
  25. The point was...as is always eluded. To be able to coherently look at the situation on its merits. Most wont. . I have not lobbied for delisting per se only to suggest that might be a reasonable outcome given circumstances as they may evolve. Btw YOU are the one introducing naive. Im simply suggesting blinkered. In buisiness terms explain to me why it is such a brilliant outcome , based upon "instincts" NOT to write down a devalued asset when it might be the most astute thing to do. Much will be dependent upon what state of fitness MC approaches this coming preseason. Im not advocating jumping the gun, all I AM talking of is reasoned discussion about what might be available choices should he not come up. And by way, if same said player is not capable of earning his dollar why would you not investigate the legitimate exit paths ?
