Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
beelzebub replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
There is actually an element of reality about this. To date the only argument really seems to be upon whether AOD 9064 was ok or not. Everything else has been admitted ( other than any other phials that anyone finds ) But as to the jabs etc no one is denying that sought to establish a methodology of gaining some sort of advantage. This in itself isnt a transgression. All clubs try to find an edge. The issue is the legaility of the one Essendon sought. It seems the various parties to this little Lu Wow cant seem to figure out half the time what it is they are actually trying to establish. Is it whether AOD 9064 was up for grabs? ( ASADA would suggest not ) is it whether the players knew what they were getting ? Well one answer is it was that substance to signed on for on the waivers !! Did anyone know it was a no-no ?? Well given all the clandestine meetings and hush hush and attempts to murky the trail, given all the double speak ( Winston would be proud ) and back peddling , then speed peddling then back again It all goes to the notion there WAS some form of coherent plan about all this. The paperwork and schedules and player analysis all point to a systematic approach to it all. Its all but impossible to argue there wasnt a plan in place to give the players a benefit derived from pushing the envelope. They knew it was 'going to the dark side" they just wanted some form of deniablity in place should it ever surface. They in effect wanted a form of an ALIBI.., something to corroborate a non-guilty stance amongst things. ( bad news James, no one is buying it ) Now they ( Hird and Co ) want us to understand ( believe ) that that path was paved with good intents and they really arent naughty boys. Well James heres the thing...Even if you didnt mean to break that window when you picked up the stone and threw it...it did break. therefore YOU broke it. Wear it...... you detestable imposter of innocence. -
Stats that matter - Dees improvement under Craig
beelzebub replied to bandicoot's topic in Melbourne Demons
In all seriousness , despite all the cleverness of the many stats presented there is only ONE stat that matters. Neeld had 1 win in 11 games this year. Craigs had 1 win in less than half as many. Thats about all you can take out of this. Whilst many may watch the minutae of the situation I just look at the scoreboard. In the end the game is about nothing else, just the scoreboard. I still dont like losing -

beelzebub replied to red and blue forever's topic in Melbourne Demons
Not everyone thinks he is But the band wagon has a lot of folk clinging to the notion that its Roos or bust Hes the darling , not the nutty whacko . Its not de rigueur apparently to want the nut. -

Its a song by a man named Brady Who was singing with just three chords on his own There were lots of words about giving it a go But no one knew what he'd sung Till the one day when Mike Brady met a fella And he knew he wasnt the bloke they called Hunch, Mitch said he let him air it on the radio, and thats how we heard him sing sometime about brunch. A song with punch, thanks a bunch Thats the way we heard Mike Brady's latest sing stunt !!

AD doesnt deny talking with Evans that night by phone. Demitrious suggestion he couldnt have tipped off anyone is predicated upon his insistence that ASADA didnt name names ( at that point ) . How many clubs does Vlad concede he talked to that night ? Even by his own commentary on these events he only discussed talking with Evans. Evans doesnt need to hear the words ) " Hey mate, ASADA has you by the goolies" to know that a phone call from Vlad ( or in discussions during a call TO Vlad ) that ASADA are on to them. No one denies the panic meeting at Evans on that evening. Its not all hearsay. Yes some is join the dots , but join then you can. Evans and Vlad have one version , which of course they would. They cant been seen as colluding......big naughty if so. Hird and Danny C have a different take on things. Yes there are differing motives and consequences for the various involved so you would have to think each and all are setting up their cases. Unless Hird is auditioning for Man from La Mancha I cant understand his mega tilt at he windmill without something to go on. Thats a massive ALL -IN. Hird doesnt strike me as a total idiot. Nor does Vlad. They do have differing agendas though. Whats in it for Danny I wonder. Hes signing his warrant also by siding with Hird. Id be interested to hear Robson and Reid's take on events.. Robson supports Evans but what else can he add to the clarification of that night.. Robson is very likely up to his eyeballs anyway. He also doesnt seem to have known which was up for some time. Reliability factor here very low. In one sense it matters not who made the call to whom. What is of matter is that Vlad was able to relay ( cryptically if nothing else ) that Essendon were in the firing line. As far as that goes AD is skating on very very thin ice. As an aside to this is the he says -he says spat . Why is Hird regaling from the events of THAT night. So many other things and moments youd think might worth battling over , but something about that day has lit a fuse. We dont know what was heard or overheard that night. Obviously not everyone sees it the same way. Shakespeare would love this...lol What also strikes me as odd , in a fashion, is youd think theyd all be towing the same line here , having got all their ducks in a row and keeping schtumm. Brutus has a knife ready....Hirdy saw it glean.

On close inspection someone might find their chair a tad rickety also

you dont have to believe every thing verbatim per se. Some of us even delve into the spaces between the lines etc and decide whats valid and what isnt. To wholesale dismiss all and any would be just as silly as to believe everything. Some call it being discerning. try it
