  1. Can only imagine he was there because he was invited. Gets to show and tell and offer the club up as "under repair " watch this space etc. Interesting dynamics all the same. Ex Melb player ( [censored] ) come Syd swans fav boy. Card carrying member , , would be about as fed up as rest of us Mr Fixit come to renovate the club Swannies Boy wonder , coaching heir apparent if some are believed. More convoluted than a cheap crime novel lol
  2. And if you were him isnt that exactly what youd do ? I would . To open your mouth is to invite 1000 permutations of what you actually said or meant. Saying nothing circumvents that. In many respects it would have been a little surreal for PJ and Roos. Im not surprised one bit he kept his mouth shut
  3. My point is/was they are very much the few of such instances and even then theyre really only in the Ok basket If they start really tearing it up after another preseason and more gametime then I might get giddy. A couple of rough gems from the slurry. A couple of genuine good'uns from the shop window....and a lot of dross. Weve got a bloody handy magoos team though hey
  4. Nothing will be signed ( or announced as such ) til the h & a games are dusted This has its own timetable.
  5. PJ is by any account our interim CEO. He will pack his bags at some stage an leave us. I think it might be a little later than imagined but who knows. The only real way to tell whether that time was constructive and helpful will be by the legacy of what he will have provided. Currently hes sort of a one man band . Thats not the way a club should run and it is temporary. Once the President /Chair comes on board and they impart of their influence, and whence similarly Coach and FD head are hired we can start to see the direction and flavour of the club-reborn. Should PJ trot off at next seasons end we will Im sure have an indication of whether we're set up right or otherwise. He has the uneviable task of chipping away at a decades pollution ( or more ) . He has to clean this place up whilst at the same time preserving sufficient so as the whole place doesnt crumble around his feet. So far I dont think hes done much wrong, nor that much thats surprising. I sense hes a little old school in a way. You cant fix a problem until you acknowledge it. Having watched the interview I thought he was quite circumspect about it all. Its mainly the media sensationalising his approach and apportioning greater volume to some things said than really warranted. Like the many though Im just sitting and watching ( hoping also). Lets see what the fella can do ( also )
  6. Terlich and Jones are playing ok, in the main, but ebbing and flowing also.. Kent. probably the same really. All capable of workmanlike decent footy at times whilst none really climbing up on the next level. We'll know more come this time next year. Not a lot of success to hang a hat on really is it.
  7. seemed a tad bizarre in a fashion...He was his own 3rd person self, He sat immediately behind the elephant .
  8. You would have to imagine a question , or a least a direction of conversation, midst any interviewing would sieze upon this very point. Hard to know really.
  9. Hogan and Viney essentially picked themselves...The 'brains trust" simply had to accommodate the selections Neeld, Harrington etc can lay claim to much of the rest of the drafting.. But in hindsight would they really want to ??
  10. A pretty fair and reasoned position. All this reminds somewhat of renovating. Its often not rocket science to be able to see what needs tearing down and taking back to basics. What is an entirely different thing is having the vision and skills to not only design the remodeling but the ability to carry it out successfully. We've only just start in on the rebuild. It will be sometime before we can adjudge the results. So far though it looks ok. Time , as always, will tell
  11. Thanks for the heads up on this article. Interesting reading for sure. The Haggard one from the Aged is far too blinkered and consumed by her seeming hatred of Hird to , even for a moment, consider that Vlad hasnt been totally forthcoming. The thing about this particular aspect of the whole tawdry affair is it makes for a very odd call on Hirds part to stand as accusor, and of he who must be obeyed no less, unless you were pretty certain of your position There are times and places for stoushs and this seemed an unlikely choice in the context of it all.....Unless !!! I really cant see Hird as being exonerated in all of this but as to the shadowy occurrences of the evening of that Panic Meeting nothing about that which Vlad would have us believe gels. Something about fish....rotting...and heads
  12. Can you to a quick summation of what was being said back then ? cheers
  13. theres no such thing as tanking.. just bad jokes
  14. The journey of the Melbourne Football Club has come to this, a game against the leagues bottom club to be played at a former baseball ground come animal arena sited deep in enemy territory of Sydney's West. Despite the less than inspiring locale the greatest concern is that this lowly team doesn't embarrass us. Yes you read it right, that the leagues least successful team doesn't humiliate us. The shame , the shame How the mighty have fallen !
  15. I hope we still continue to explore options
  16. Its been suggested by some that given the way we play , it looks like with run around without a cue !!
  17. This ol thing keeps coming back around every so often. I was for it but having seen first hand how bleak it is there I cant really wish it upon anyone. Im of the opinion that CS was quite keen and tried to ingratiate ourselves into the groupthink that was over seeing the project. hes gone and so is our interest in this I think. Mr pragmatic will be more interested in the personnel than a swish locale in rebuilding our little club. AAMI is good but ...its still not quite right. it will I imagine suffice for some time to come now.
  18. as Jethro would suggest....."you'd think !! "
  19. what was Smiths waffle??
