It's a little Schroedinger and at same time not. Does that make it Schroedinger-Schroedinger ?? Changing coaches guarantees nothing other than different. Goody goes, Someone comes ... what changes ?? Well that's the $64 question though probability and logic suggests it won't be the same. Better ?? Who the ..... knows. Ideally you have ( that is club has ) chosen someone displaying a new direction. Or... do nothing...get nowhere. Nowhere ?? Well the same b.s. has been rolled out year after year. ( refer post above somwhere references Goodwin press conferences.. same,same , same ... and...................yep ) The Brickwall needs a rest !

I kind of agree... or want to, but there's a huge problem, it's not just a matter of doing something just a little bit different. For us it seems to be something very much materially different. This week does brilliantly highlight the supposed 'small' disparity.. if only !!

Let's be serious. What difference does it make who coaches the forwards ..IF... if Goody's game pays scant respect to honour leads. I see nothing in our footy that does. We just lob on heads

The Age 01/04/2029 Latest word emanating from the MFC suggests planning is well advanced pending Council approval. The City of Monash, despite some reports of protests from some councilors,has announced work is progressing on plans to reinvent the old Clayton Tip into a state of the art sporting facility. The football club acknowledges past disappointments and false starts but insists the new location is perfect suited to the club's needs. A spokesman for the club insists all rumours to the contrary are pure rubbish. We're tipping this will be their new home.

I hover somewhere around this. The list is not brilliant. It's serviceable with a few glaring deficiencies. Barring injuries it can be competitive. Hell we should have won KB in spite of ourselves but managed to trot out our old nemesis.... " the inability to really score well and consistently " This then brings us around to our coaching and development. I'm with you Sir...get a broom....a big one and push it through the F.D. .. if a few nqrs off the list get caught up in bristles.... so be it.

Something that irks me and is seldom quantified or acknowledged is the waste of a year of the players. Some haven't much more of their careers left. Others are developing ( or poignantly are not ) . What value, what $ does anyone ascribe to this. It's not just the cost of a payout as you rightly suggest. It's to be weighed against a whole basket of values.

Yes good teams use pressure.. it's A tool . It's about our ONLY tool. And therein lies the problem. I often wonder WHAT is actually coached at Melbourne

Of the 9 games left in truth I can only see 2 ...maybe at a pinch 3 wins. We in all likelihood will finish exactly where we are which is mind boggling worse than last year even. That in my mind cements the trend. Are we just waiting to fall of the cliff ?? The horrible truth is imo, it's not just Simon. You could take an axe to the F.D. Who's got the balls at Melbourne to do that !!

🤔 Some will suggest some are played too often beyond reasonable doubt, whilst others not given a running chance. Without a skerick of doubt I believe some were brought back too early and unable to play at levels required. Add to this IN FORM players dropped. 🤷‍♂️ You do raise an interesting 🤔 thought. If those below are not good enough, why are they there ? Is it now time to find out ? The season is done. Has Simon the bottle to run the flag up ??

A big problem as I see it is to do with the tenet of our game. It seems to me the 'method of play' ( and I'll borrow that knowing it's a very loose notion ..method ) is primarily about pressure. What we are not is a SKILLS-BASED team . We are quite devoid of skills actually ( imo ) We also employ ZERO craft in our forward play ( craft borrowed with method..see above lol ) We just don't seem to go about our footy based upon the mechanical abilities required. We're just British Bulldog at it and that's it. We're all Zig and NO Zag !! This stems from mindset and that all comes from....... ?? 😉

I think it's time to counter this seemingly unassailable belief that we can't sack Goodwin. Of course we can. Might it cost money... possibly the most inanely stupid question around. Of course it will. It it bank breaking ? No. We pay more to some very underperforming players. The money is just part of the overall expenditure on players and staff. If for instance Simon is relieved at EOS might we only be exposed to 6 months of his remaining year ? Tbh ...I don't know. Be interested to know. Some pundits suggest End of Contract provisions . Even if you had to pay out 26... not end of world. There's always the collateral harm done to a club by persisting in a direction that is not only providing no results ( certainly nothing satisfactory) as well as cumulative problems and disharmony among the playing list. Do we want to continually waste time ?? What is the $$$ we might apportion to another year in the wilderness paying a list of players v cut your losses and get another coach ? Simon isn't going anywhere until seasons end. That's a given. I mean.. wtf is even running the place... other than caretakers ?? They'll do nothing. They're good at that. If the best thing for the club is to refresh the FD then that is the metric. Paying out Simon is not most important criteria of concern. I always suspected and suggested any decision would be made on partially our season's final standing and also as likely how we are trending. If we're getting better he'd most likely see out 26. If we're getting worse only a fool wouldn't show him the door.

Our biggest fundamental problem are the dumbasses who coach and define our forward game.
