Tbh whilst I harbour a curiosity for the make-up of the "Coaching Select Panel" or whatever they might like to be called. It doesn't matter ( much to me ) I've no influence over them and wouldn't know anytime soon what I should wield over them even would I could.. Only hope they spend more than 5 mins on this and keep an open mind. I want not just a Coach, I want coaches and a better Football dept. How that's arranged or arrived at; not fussed really. Just get it done and do it well... whoever is so choosing whom. Go Dees

In some respects a person might argue that that thinking is what might have been he final undoing. I.e What he saw/thought didn't marry what others ( in positions of responsibility ) saw/thought. What Simon believed others had stopped.

Very much this. First .. you're in the sights.. Then .. you lock and load ( which ironically is reverse of normality with weapons..but i digress ) Then you wait.. If not needed, stand down. If situation deemed 'defcon' .. pull trigger. Imho.. Goody's future was weighed at end of last season. Became a target as games lost earlier. What if ..... what if the interview process isn't about the Coach ? ( well head coach per se ) Lots of other positions to fill. So why not do it in plain sight, behind doors, as it were. Move along, nothing to see, well not what you're all thinking .....

I can see things going officially quiet for a few weeks now. Perhaps some media "exclusives" ( straight from their imagination) . Now comes the "dance" ..folk stick their left legs in, left legs out, shake it all about... go away, have a think. Today something hot is tomorrow's cool... Where there's no news the void will be "filled" I very much doubt anyone will over commit their position. If anyone has dealt with court run mediations .... this will appear similar iI think. Not a lot to be seen, but a lot happening behind closed doors. Fun and games

It's a fair comment but it still has to be said with a view to even more compromised drafts looming we really have to get a lot of things right, and setup over the next few years. One hell of a balancing act for the recruitment and list management. 26 may be better than 25 but we can only play the cards we have. Good luck us.... we'll need it.

I think you missed my point. It's the timing. The legitimacy of the narrative is not the contention. Why now all of sudden ?? Much of what anyone could find bad about the Dees has been around for a while. Elements that are better are more recent. There appears a deliberate 'stack on' . All a bit suss to me.

Actually agree. Needs to and can do much better. Seems to pick and choose. Quite possibly he won't be alone in being assessed as keep or trade. We need to do a bit of a Hawthorn dare I say and that will undoubtedly make some unhappy.

Come the lifting of the cup and mad Mondays we all know what comes to town next. Tbt advance agents are already setting up their tents. With some ginormous offers pending and a few clubs announcing their intention to really get in amongst it I can see the possibility of one of two things playing out for us. Either trading gets blown out of the water and we're left flailing or.. and this is where it might get very lucrative....or... in the eagerness of some clubs to get 'their men' other players become collateral discards. Also, maybe the opportunity to do some clever wheeler dealing of picks. We certainly need that. If we're only after a couple then we might just be able to crib a few our way whilst all the excitement is elsewhere. I don't quite share Roos' ultra enthusiasm for our list. Yes there are more than a dozen premiership players but that was then and this is now. I think it needs work. Just how down and dirty are we prepared to dig ? Hell , don't need much.... just a kpf , a kpb and two skilled mids.. I mean... ought to be like shopping at Woolies eh.. Need to get this coach and fd sorted pronto

I wonder what the chances are that this 'search' might go a little longer than some suspect 🤔 Outwardly it appears almost there. Internally, I'm not thinking so. Whilst we'd want it wrapped up as early as possible I just have a sneaky suspicion there's a turn and twist or two yet to play out. Those thinking around the week of the prelim might be on the money.
