  1. This is something I've pondered for a little whiles now. We could have little change, or significant change ( or in between i suppose) . Just about covers it all lol. I just have a real gut feeling the winds of change are about to howl through our cloisters. There are those perhaps at their game's end. Some will seek other pastures, some put out to pasture and others moved elsewhere and ask not to let door hit you when going past-ya ... The list needs attention. Some movements will seem possibly obvious others might be collateral. As often happens with these situations it can come down to domino effects. Something/someone happens and proves to be a catalyst for another's thinking. Some trade opportunities aren't even embryonic currently but will be born once the creative juices get pumping among the various other team's list managers. If we have predominantly the same list in 26 as 25 well Houston we'd have a problem. Time to prune and re-plant. Some will know or have a distinct inkling about tonight. Others.... well that bus is still around the corner out of sight. I wish all well. Go us !!
  2. Found myself in Edmonton in 82. Was treated to a , well, not so much a game, more a spectacle akin to the Colosseum of Ice complete with masked gladiators. I can see where Hill go his inspiration 😉 There's nothing quite like 'Hockey' ...
  3. Well Greggy I like the thinking. There may well exist a certain freedom for some tonight indeed. Crossed fingers and toes
  4. Some thickish trunks too 🙄🙄
  5. As long as everyone hits the ground running ( and doesn't trip ) come the 29th... all will be well 🤞
  6. Collingwood 1 Everyone else 0 Good old Collingwood, they know how to play the game........
  7. Thanks @admin 👍
  8. On a more poignant note I hope those that play tonight have some sense of occasion. My wish is that there would be some who would do well at siren's final sound to cast their eyes around the stadium and soak it in. This is the last time THIS team will take the field. It is the last time some will ever take this field (possibly ) , certainly the last time for some in red and blue. 2026 will be ( possibly ) a very different Team. ( on and off ) I wish all well. Go Dees
  9. Im wondering ... did we ever really check in 🤔🤔🤔
  10. Exactly. A reasonable preci given without coloured glasses. He's now more 'handy' than 'exceptional' . He has mates ....
  11. Where's Wheels Biffo and Balls when you need them 😆
  12. If only the Hansons were on our list 😉
  13. Id "manage" him 🙄😉
  14. Yayyy ... go us... yayyy Is it over yet
  15. Id rather the AFL spent more effort on adjudicating the game as opposed trying to posture in society. Maybe it can try and sort one mess out first. Clearly the powers that be have tickets on themselves. No one asked the AFL to be arbiters of morality. They're hardly qualified.
  16. I believe the Collingwood grub was so mortified he was laughing ( hope he's ok 🙄 )
  17. Around the 20/21st Im thinking 🤔 Or 28th if a particular club involved...
  18. They can promote him ...a la Peter Principle !! They're certainly unlikely to 'let him go' .. ( not this year ..... ) Probably reconfigure his role 😉
  19. The "before" shot .. 😉
  20. Should have listened to you then.. Perhaps they'll listen now 🎶
  21. Needs bigger axe ...
  22. Ahhh.. New Bloke ...
  23. I have no doubt Jnr there's a difference. We sit outside reading the book whilst they are the words we read. Characters and plots come and go. I think even for them there are differences. Some are possibly more inlooking and mercenary. There will be those though that understand while they are transient through the Football Landscape they are the pageantry. Some might imbue a sense of occasion, a poignancy about the moment. As actors might understand their achievements and loss as a play reaches its final curtain does then it be as so with players . You may be right, I might be crazy.... Id like to think it does to some carry an honour to wear our jumper. Even that aside as being parochial there is no doubt in my mind that the type of camaraderie as galvanised during both success and failure , and possibly greater still as Premiers might linger if not momentarily but afterwards at times such as a 'last game' . I'll watch to see who stays that moment extra, to see who possibly scans the stadium . Some will move on, some move away and some will end as they cross the boundary and stride the race. Some will know it, some may not.
