Im actually going to suggest RR has pretty well sumed it up. Our potential is greater given where we are in the cycle..but believe Richmond will have more success this year..and boy they need to capitalise on it as they will fall a few steps behind once all that experience and "goto" leaves that club.

Colin Sylvia- Complaints, Congratulations and Comments
beelzebub replied to Don24's topic in Melbourne Demons
Fan... Im long over expecting him to deliver accoring to his pic #. and it really concerns me if this is his good footy..as to me they were disjointed glimpses with occasional second efforts interpsersed with frustrating ineptness come ragedness of poise. For all..lets hope he does play good footythis year..all year -
Colin Sylvia- Complaints, Congratulations and Comments
beelzebub replied to Don24's topic in Melbourne Demons
All the discussions about Sylvia boil down to a very simple observation. He has yet to consistently put together 2-3 good quarters over 2-3 games concurrently. You really wouldnt think is too much of a big ask of a decently skiller player..would you ? He has yet to convince many( including me )..he's still more about a perecived potential rather than any real delivered performance and thats a very poor returnfor his expectaions. -
There are doubters..there are nay-sayers and realy noone could denythem the higher ground when it comes to believing much at face value. I do however think that the ill winds that have blown our way for so long are about blow over. Ive had my reservations about the Jimma-train as have many others and yet I went along and heard and spoke with him and the varius other names that are attempting to carve out a new era for this club. One reoccurring theme for mine is that there has been a fundamental appreciation that what ever was being done before was not working and thata clean sheet with new ideas and persectives needed to be had. This i have seen and participated in at first hand. There IS a new understanding about what can be done at the club. The initiative to seize the Opening of the season is I think a briliant ploy..many plaudits to whomever for that one. Hope it starts and builds toa real boon for the club. I must congratulate and thank the other Presdents for getting onboard. I have often wondered why we hadnt tried to get as many sponsors at various levels as oposed to one Biggun etc. Hopefully as tris club builds upon success more will be drawn to the club and the relationships with sponsors wil be further cemented. Great to see stalwarts as Lyon Flower and the great Barrassi getting behind this club. There is a new momentum building...its palpable... and as more outside the clubsee it then our credibility as a legitimate member of this league increases. believe it when you see it? I believe I WILL see it

Just finished reading it as part of my morning read..and thought..I wonder if others have already caught it? Good to see supporting Melbourne put in such a different light..so far removed from the stereotype. It hits the nail on the head and probably for many satisfactorily pacakges the reasons why we do STILL follow our beloved team. Because we are mavericks..because it isnt easy. We draw from the hardships and build even greater resolve. A good article

wonder if Mars fancies an interim team to sponsor ?

Good to see sanity prevail.. No charged ought to have been laid inthefirst place.. after al no whistle was even given in play so the ump didnt think too much of it either. Only thing annoying is it was a Collingwood player otherwise all is right again ..lol

you obviously werent watching the same moment we all were !! he wasnt coming front on ... not much else to say is there

You clearly have no appreciation of how and why a Hip and Shoulder is exectued. You do NOT need your eyes on the ball in order to commit to this stype of shepherd. In fact only an idiot would do so without looking as to how he is going. If you are within the play of the ball then you are at liberty to take out your opponent with a legal shepherd. The proper method woldl be to look at what your doing..and keep a peripheral view of where the ball is in order to get it after successfully upending your oponent.
-
We just need to take the Collingwood stance.. !! truly.. we either wear our REAL strip...or the clash one.. has worked for a long long time. Those two jumpers are surely enough.
-
This bodes poorly for th erest of the seaon proper if they cant even get incidents like this in correct context. It was a perfectly good hip and shoulder in the spirit of this game....all the nancy boys can go play croquest or such. from media >>>>""Even the AFL's own legal counsel Jeff Gleeson, SC, praised Maxwell's shirtfront in the first quarter at Subiaco. "We acknowledge the shepherd was executed with a good technique," ..."" quite frankly if you dont undestand the nature of this tactic.. then find another game to play

thats when that other "blue"one comes in handy !!!

The logo ( demon ) looks actually better with a little white outlining.. Helps define it.. Cant see the club changing anything now though. I also prefer the MFC monogram on the red jumper.. alas !! ( Still its at least better than the pyjama fiasco

Alternative Strip - Scorpion jumper or other Alternatives?
beelzebub replied to Pepe Dee Pew's topic in Melbourne Demons
Does for me raise an intersting notion. How do many see a relationship with the Scorps ? Are we not embarking upon a new era. A rebirth of sorts; a long term arrangement with Casey ? How better could we do it bt to really immerse ourselves at that level than to have some commonality in apearance as well as fervour and desire ? I could see nothing wrong with similar away jumpers.. differing only in scorpion and demon. I like the idea. It has merit. Arguably all will not see it. That too is fine.. its about opinions after all. -
inextricably for the spell nazi

I see no harm in developig a realtionship with the MCC ( city council ) and having them as a tiered sponsor. Their logo on our backs can only emphasise our own brand, after all we are accused of not having one !! it further plants into peoples minds we are inextractobly part of Melbourne at its core.

Who ??

It was definitely suggested at the Summit that the MFc investigate emerging brands from India and China as posible sponsors. Seems more co-incendental in this instance. Youd expect a little more fanfare..lol

Thought that pic very interesting myself..and also thought..surely you wouldnt debut like that.. spose like many, we just watch this space etc
-
would look good on the back like.....

I think something many of us ovelook...I know it sat way back in my mind for a whiles, is the amount of talent still yet to debut let alone make an impact. A good preseason and some growing/bulking will see dividends again with our 2007 recruits let alone the recent 08 ones. Just the added maturity and games ( even if vfl ) will bode well going in to season 09. Extra fitness...well hell..just fitness..plus an added half yard or more in players will allow a better implemtation of whatever 'plans' Bails has in store. Options open up instead of just plugging holes. Yes this may well be the case for many clubs but the difference for us 08 to 09 is immense and possibly more encompassing than for many clubs. Yes proof proper occurs soon in competitve footy but you just have to feel we go in fighting ...not limping !!

In the vogue of once off special occasion guernseys if the club and AFL were up for it then if we are without a real sponsor..(or even if we do get one) then a jumper ..something along these lines could help the cause. All paraphenalia could be auctioned/sold and funds donated to the Red Cross

how stange.. a forum with differing opinions.. god forbid ..lol we ve had our say...dont need argument nazis thansk guys
