..so ?Hes been away for a lil whiles now..he ought to be in yuendemu...no the alice.. Hes , by all acounts wasnt due back for a few days yet, so like DC.. its a curious question. What was he doing indeed, in Alice Springs. Now , its a free counbtry..we can all be where we would like, within reason, yet as I understand it the leave was poignant to his own community needs. Last time I looked it was more than a cut lunch away from A-S. Maybe nothing in it.. but a valid question none the less -

Just to sort wheat from chaff...our situation with AAMI is a relatively short term committment with ongoing options. Our ancestoral home is and always will be the MCG but reality is it aint our home anymore and never will be. The Stadium is far too multi dimensional in its corporate dealings tofacilitate our ever being theTenant. Everyoine needs to move on from this ave a trcukload of panadol. Docklands has been mooted for a few years now as a possibility. Various sites and options have beendiscussed with nothing really ( tmk ) showing up as a conceptual model. So far is all gas and strutting. But for mine its an idea with merit that ought to be fleshed out. Why would yo not take a look at whats on offer. Whilst it made be very romatic for us Melbourne to be linked to the G, its more important that we are seenas the most relevent team for our fair city. This takes nothign away from our endeavours and efforts with the Casey area as that is a long term project that I am certain will reap rewards. But when you consider the ofrecasted population growth of Melbourne ( we will rank #1 in about 15-20 years ) and the huge population growth of inner Melbourne then youd be mad not to consider a base there. We dont have to...but we ought to look at it p.s at least wed still be relevaent to MELBOURNE other clubs.. who can remain nameless but are Filthy , if they keep moving in teh direction they are they will eventually be looked upon as a Bayside team and nothing to do with their original roots lol

Quite frankly if he is in custody then thats far more worisome than if hes simply 'helping' with inquiries bugger bugger not good. The whole joint is a time bomg on short fuses. Lets hope alls well that ends however... Cant be easy for the poor sod, on a hiding to nothing. -
In many ways not a lot of people are actually saying its not different. It obviously is...its alsoobvous this plays a far greater role in the mans life than would a non indigenous in a city bred culture. Thats the essential point of much observation. He has a very different circumstance. the real issue is... Theres a spot in an AFL team that needs filling. How much largesse does one give an individual ? Out on a playing field nothig matters other than being part of a team, everything else goes to the side whilst the game is played. An ump doesnt give any special treatment to one player above another. Most opposition will treat all teams will similar disregard. Essentially all are the same out there. In being assigned a role to be amongst any given team it would be reasonable , no, to think all players are out there on merit and marked by the same rule, that all are afforded a similar if not equal opportunity to get selected. The question that comes to the fore for this interested observer is how far do you go, before youre actually giving one person more of an opportunity than another ? I want to see Liam succeed, but more the point I want to see Melbourne succeed. theres a fine balance between accommodating a particualr circumstance and losing sight of the real goal, club success.

Im very sorry if will come across as anything other than a particularly clinical view of things. At the end of the day there is a spot in an AFL team up for grabs. Last time I looked this is not a special needs benevolent support group per se, its an AFL club. I for one have and do stil marvel at Liams talents, but it is now a that curly corssorad where people are allowed to wonder what will eventually ( if not already ) take precedence. i fervently hope that his needs as an indigenous repected member can be intergrated ( literally ) with his desire to play Footy at the ulitimate level but we can see how easily a wheel can fall off. Weve seen how easily it can all go to rot with Wonna, hopefully the club can facilitate a better outcome , for all concerend.

As I see it the unfortunate problem for Liam, and so us, is that HE has no real control over the events that beseige his community. They are firmly in the hands of , dare I say it, the warring parties. As long as teh hatfiled and the McCoys are at it there will be call made upon Liam to interject and mediate, such is the duty of the initiate. I tjhink hes done marvellously well to date to combine what much be incredibly disparate cultures to get to where he is, it just concerns me now that this may prove too much an impediment to progress and the star career so promised may become a bridge too far. Fingers crossed.

Ok..i'll play devil's advocate...being a devillish locale after all. I sincerely wish th elad well. a speedy recovery and the where with all to sort out what will be lobbed onto his shoulders liek it or not., but at what point are we due reasoned concern that maybe, just maybe Liam is not going to realise his potential with our greta club because of all these distractions. His rehab wil be interrupted and prolonged. His required place amonhstthe best 22 will be delayed. The troubles that he has had to attnd to on more than one occasion now are it seems prerennial and not about to dissolve any time soon. Look , I do appreciate he ( LJ) is in a unique place and situation but at some point there is a requirement to either be an AFL player...or you arent.. . Some may think this is jumping the gun... but as Jaded has already suggested there's an uneasy wind about all this.

I think , imho , Neeld has really only two aspects upon which he will gauge our NAB games. Structures and Efforts. He needs the players to buy into the new game ( plan ) and that will be more important than any absolute displayed on the scoreboard. He will have every player accountable for their role(s) . He will be watching and paying attention to those who have themettle tostick to their job.....and those who dont/cant. This is all the NAB cup is to us ( mfc)

So much of all this will simply come down which versions of certain players take to the track A Davey reborn, A Colin with some mental fortitde, A Jurrah with pizzaz and engine, A Green without any remnants of 2011, A Moloney with another sting to his bow... and we have some oomph !! Im not taking away anything from the efforts of other players but these may well be the litmus of our fortunes.

Whether players are traded or moved on or move on they can still choose to remember their time at the MFC will fondness and pride.. This is all a part of the club building its brand and rediscovering its heritage as we go on to write new pages in its history. I dont mind it as an idea, interesting to see how all others and players view it.

Refreshing to see someone actually understands what its all about and its bambozzled by Fast Eddies revisionist commentaries. Melb and Collingwood have played the QB Monday for more years than I can remember , and then some. There have been breaks in this but its nothing new. Anyone would think, if you believed McGuire that its totally the Magpies magnamity that has this game happen. Nice try Ed
