I was most surpised that of all the staff we kept choco. Cant say Ive ever been particualarly impressed by anything hes done, least of all now. Am obviously blind to his sublime talents, my bad ! OK...heres somethign left field We had a BOJ deal with EW. Everyone for the most part was happy as Larry with this. Why not approach them now that Pollis is no more todo with them and suggest we pick things up again as an act of faith in two directions. with all due respect Who I think youve failed to grasp the simplicity of what OLD is getting at. . The "ideals" you speak of in your mini manifesto have been trotted out year in year out . Jimmi...in really simplistic terms it all come down TO the players. The coach doesnt play the game, the FD arent out there, the Board isnt out there, the sponsors arent nor are we. Its just the players on the day. Its so reminiscent of you can bring a horse to water , but cant make it drink. it has to want to. Whats wrong with our lot that they dont really seem to want anything.

I'll just take that bit...sums it up ,unfortunately. Much can be a game of inches not yards. That is to say there often is not so much seperating sides as scoreboards suggest . Its really whats between the ears. Im just not seeing a healthy attitude out there. What ever it is that Neeld and co are trying to educate and implement you just doent get the feeling theplayers ( in the main ) get it... and as 2803 alludes, the opposition not only sense it but feed off of it. Were not incapable of good football. Were just weak. Pitiful isnt it.

For mine each player ought to imagine themseleves beofre a crowd of 50000 members and supporters......all angry...all as mad as hell.. sick and tired of "not goo enough" teams ...all screaming " WE"RE NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE" If they cant find it within themselves to initally play well and successfully for al lthe right reasons...then lets start with playig for fear of ridicule and resentment. my my my ..the days of Flower and Stretch on wings....aaaaaaaa...well !! it was different then I suppose, and yet the ability to run gazelle like though space and avoid the trafiic and deliver sublimely to knowing team mates.....sigh. Anyone with Stretch's passed on ability would be more than welcome at the MFC those were good days...even if no silver ware

Mate Im over a 1000 games in....what Ive seen so far from the players this season is right up there with the most insipid and lacklustre performances ive ever witnessed in red and blue. They have shown 3/5 of bugger all. About 5 blokes can at least feel like theyve had a crack. You obviously arent too bright otherwise you would have understood the tenet of my ribbing. Mark himself realised all but moments after emmitting such grandiose ideas about Melbourne in 2012 ( upon arriving in 2011 ) that it might come back to haunt him rather quickly. Its happened at light speed. I actually think Neeld will enjoy success at Melbourne, as will we all but its a long and arduous road ahead and an almighty clean out ( again ) will have to happen during this season to re-establish some sort of foundation upon which to build a team. So moocow...im not privvy to how long youve followed this team but I have for a long while and what Im seeing presently masquerading as a football team is just this side of laughable. That simply ought not be the case. There is some genuine talent and ability but we seem perennially unable to turn potential into actual. I hadnt expected much in the ways of wins to date but competitiveness and ownership of 'roles' certainly. So MooCow...please share your insight

Well upon joining the Demons Neeld made the brazen prediciton that in 2012 all teams will have "known they have played Melbourne " Memo to Mark...im sure they do....and whenever they can stop laughing Im sure they'll file it away as a day to remember !! Sorry , can't subscribe to this pessimism feast. We had a Jo facing us getting a better deal for the foj given the then exceptional Boj that wax in place. Personally I feel that this is a great opportunity for two companies to come on board. It will take more than a weekend to do this but I think we may even come out of this better. The MFC and it's supporters have shown character and integrity. This WILL be what inspires corporate dollars. You can all cry and panic and get despondent. I won't. This is an opportunity .
