New Captain
This thread is what it should be. Jones was skipper when he had to be. Very tough period and a legend of the club. Viney the new blood and cleanout. New training standards and ferocious leadership. Gawn - leads by example probably the best player in the game.. Bleeds Melbourne and takes us there

New Captain
It is such a no brainer we should just close the thread. Max is the only captain at the club in the way he plays, the training standards he sets, the historical understanding of this club, the mentoring of younger players, the leaderships he shows and his handling of the media. He probably even has more luck with the toss of the coin.

When he broke Cripps leg it changed the outcome of that game.

Round 10 Non MFC Games
I bet on the tigers to win the wooden spoon over a decade ago, had a fair bit on it as well and with about 6 rounds to go Sportsbet paid out. Tigers ended up winning a few and getting off the bottom. Sportsbet do it for the publicity. I’m still talking about it.

Training - Tuesday, 14th May 2019
I was taking the [censored]. I’m amazed that people actually believe we haven’t analysed that game endlessly. As @Ethan Tremblay wrote in another thread Goodwin has played this perfectly do one thing and tell the media another when it is to the benefit of the club

Training - Tuesday, 14th May 2019
They’re not training this week so they don’t have to watch replays or talk about what happened last time they played.

Demonland Player of the Year - Round 8
Hunt very stiff to poll so low this round. He was good all night except for the last 2 minutes where he bought his game to a new level and won us the game. He spots up Hore who kicks the goal to get us level. Then when Gawn boots and up and under with about 14 seconds left on to the cusp of out 50, Hunt smashes through two of them and the ball spills to Harmes. We win.

Essendon VFL v Casey Demons - Round 6
Probably don’t have one. They don’t like keeping records.

Demons Grand Plan for Yarra Park Training HQ
Do you think the CEO should be involved in the game plan?

Demons Grand Plan for Yarra Park Training HQ
Pert will have us positioned somewhere between Melbourne and Perth. Dud. Why does he go on triple m and talk about our game plan? He was removed from Collingwood for having too much involvement with the football department. He should be getting us the football facilities we need as CEO. Needs to learn his position.

Steven May - drinking session
Thanks for highlighting my deficiencies in English. My spoken language. My cousin played for GC with May. I see my cousin a few times a year and every Christmas Day. A couple of years ago when he moved from another club to GC, he told me on Christmas day, (over a few beers! that he had been told by GC to just continue what he was doing. The GC had no program for him. My cousin was professional the Gold Coast weren’t.

Big Freeze 2019
I went on the Daniher drive last year to help raise money for motor neurone disease. i’m also mates with one of the lead scientists fighting the beast. Daniher almost certainly won’t save himself from this insidious disease but his actions will save millions of others. This could be last Big Freeze with Daniher in attendance. Daniher is Australian of the year for mine. And Pom Pom on the beanie.

PR Changes - Give them a gig
Burnside would change our policy of drafting to diversity over best available. We have enough problems with our drafting as it is. When we have a transgender, lesbian, indigenous, centre half forward he will be happy but we will further from a premiership.

Steven May - drinking session
I’ve said in other posts I have a cousin who played at GC in same era and he was told he knew what he was doing and given no training program.

Steven May - drinking session
Bring back Daniher, send all the boys on a weekend on the [censored] and let us all reload.

Steven May - drinking session
This is the biggest non story. I have a cousin who played with May at the GC. He thinks May will be a dominator for us fwiw. There are team rules and common sense. Not drinking in short term injuries for a quick turn around is fine but if you are suffering a longer injury, as long as you are not binging it makes no difference, infact it is probably good for their mental health. i was slammed from pillar to post for saying Weid was not up to it after is break out game in the finals. He simply isn’t a good enough mark for his body size and has no tricks. May is the opposite he will be a superstar.

CHANGES: Rd 07 vs Hawthorn
Out: Tmac (rest / injured), Weid (omitted / weights room), Viney (injured) In: Petty, Keilty, C Wagner Petty to play back Keilty forward - guaranteed to have more influence than Weid. Better in the ruck and a more reliable mark. Give him a go. Move C Wagner back and Fritsh forward we win the inside 50’s, Frish has the skill set to kick goals and benefit from the inside 50’s If Pruese is ready bring him in for Petracca. Sit him in the goal square for the long bomb. When the ball is in our forward line with congestion he should be standing 70m out where if it comes to him he can take a few large steps an kick it through. It can either come through a quick panicked kick from the opossition or if we get it kicking it backwards to him. Jordan Lewis is a shadow of himself but is still a beautiful kick. We need to develop a strategy for him to kick it into our forward 50 and ANB to follow his man back so we don’t get slaughtered on the counter attack.

CHANGES: Rd 07 vs Hawthorn
Hunt was good last night. He needed some mates to help him with the pressure he was applying and get it to him when he was charging into goal with no one on him.
