  1. Brayshaw came 3rd in the Brownlow. I’d have AVB ahead of Hogan. He stood up in the most important games of the decade.
  2. I’m hoping 1 Melbourne player can play an A+ game in my lifetime on grand final day. Malion Pickett didn’t get selected to debut on grand final day for no reason. He is an absolute jet.
  3. I want 3 cups to complain about. Merry Christmas.
  4. I agree with everything you say except Marlion Pickett. He is A+ grade and one of the best footballers in the league. He’s only played one game but he almost won the norm smith. He didn’t slot in and play his role he dominated.
  5. Always love Demonblogs work. I personally would have had win 17 against the Hawks rated higher. It cemented the fact we were a real team again. Jordan Lewis would shortly nominate a trade to us, which at the time was so significant the president wrote an email to the entire football club and football department that a triple premiership player had just nominated to come to Melbourne.
  6. An accumulator of the footy with elite disposal, peripheral vision and decision making isn’t going to be delisted at the end of the season no matter what happens this season. The fact his professionalism is off the charts for his age and he has a pretty good tank leave me confident of where he is headed.
  7. Jordan will be in our top 4 by the end of the year and walk into any other midfield.
  8. Opportunities can work two ways, positive and negative. Giving yourself every opportunity to succeed is one way. Removing the opportunity to [censored] up is another.
  9. Trac does't have much of an issue. He's coming into his prime and his stats are showing he is going (tracing) well. If anything his ball drop from set shots is ridiculously high. Weid for me doesn't quite get in the right position or doesn't hold the mark when he does. Most posters on here think it is a strength thing. I think it is ability. We'll find out this year. I hope I am wrong.
  10. Just wait for 2020 when we do some real damage.
  11. On Tomlinson I think predictability of ball movement is the key to his importance. His role is to run up and down the wing that we are not kicking too. He’ll block opposition switches and fill holes in our backline. I loved Frost but he was unpredictable with ball in hand which would have been a nightmare for Tomlinson and why the dees let him go.
  12. Teams that perform badly don’t provide “opportunities for the new entrants”. The new entrants just win enough games to make the finals. It is easier these days for the “new entrants” as well because the draw is designed so no finalists from the previous year play each other more often.
  13. I’m as excited about Kozzi as anyone but don’t be surprised if it is Chandler or Bedford that are providing the manic pressure in our forward line. Don’t forget Chandler had 5 tackles on debut before getting injured. Jordan will be pushing for midfield selection too so competition for spots will be greater than it was in 2018 when we finished 4th.
  14. I never understand this line of thinking, if we win enough games we will make the 8. The other 7 teams that win enough games will also make the 8. Picking which team(s) will drop out of the 8 has no bearing on us making it.
  15. Hopefully he advises against starting the captain on the bench.
  16. Expect one or more of Petty, Jordan, Chandler or Bedford to be core players by finals time. They are all coming through together and are setting the bar higher that previous recruits in the same age bracket.
  17. It wasn't one of my better posts. I was trying to say the injury list / rehab group isn't as concerning as last year. Not just that the numbers are less but the importance of the players to our list missing sessions isn't the same either. Agree with the posters saying Tomlinson and AVB are in our best 22. Weid needs to prove himself this year. I bumped into him grandfinal night and he said his hips which have troubled him are "cherry ripe". He also looks broader and bigger in the training photos. I'm not sold but the stage is set for him to prove me wrong this season.
  18. I love Jones and he is a warrior for this club but it’s refreshishing to see not a single player in our best 22 on that list. Having said that Petty will be come finals.
  19. I’ve just heard that Petty, Chandler and Jordan are doing everything right off the field. No stone unturned. Jordan’s kicking skills and endurance could see him slot into our midfield nicely. With the depth we have next year i’m guessing if he forces his way into the side it’s because he is damaging by foot.
  20. If you want a good culture you send your best leader.
  21. He keeps his cards close to his chest but I sensed he is a lot more excited about Deakin Smith than Kobe Farmer or the young White boy.
  22. Oliver Viney Gawn Langdon Petracca May Salem Brayshaw Jordan Melksham
  23. As someone not quite 40 I was lucky enough to see Alan Johnson. A child of the 80’s I had his number on my back not Robbie Flower.
  24. Agreed. I’m still angry from that time Garland smiled at training.
  25. If you get the chance i’d be interested to know if they take into consideration the “go home factor” on a player by player basis if at all.
