  1. Maybe too difficult for you to understand. Risk mitigation is very complex and a risk assessment that doesn’t work out, doesn’t mean the decision was wrong. Lots of people thought Brayshaw should not have played again and he has since come 3rd in the Brownlow. The club assessed the risk and decided it would be safe for him to play on. At this stage it looks a wise decision. If he copped a freak knock to the head that ended his career people like you would look at the outcome and decide we got it wrong rather than the process which we seem to have got right.
  2. When has that ever been a pre-requisite for posting on here? sometimes I don’t even watch the 2 minute highlight package of our new recruits before I judge them.
  3. I’m staggered the club let Angus Brayshaw play on after all those concussions. One bump can be another concussion in a single Moment. Risk assessment isn’t an exact science you need expertise, an understanding of previous similar risks and luck.
  4. Our list manager seems to be more concerned about moving on our players with drug habits at the moment.
  5. Outside of Trengove I can honestly say I rated him highest.
  6. TMac isn’t that important while our gane plan is chaotic. He is a focal point no doubt but I don’t rate any forward in the top 5. If Petracca could use his freight train speed to mow the opposition down he would be a chance. He’d need to convert more goals as well. Weid would need to learn how to position himself and take an overhead mark. Defence is the the best form of attack and we have that.
  7. I’ve been writing on demoland since we almost merged with Hawthorn. I’ve been pretty accurate over the journey. I posted everyone should back Oliver at 50-1 to get most Brownlow votes for Melbourne 2 seasons back when he did. I’ve since been banned from crownbet. I hope I am caught out on this one but I think Weid is a bust.
  8. Exactly if Brayshaw who has a history of concussion gets hit in the hips and that consequently causes concussion should the player get suspeneded? Of course not. The “look” and the medical report should be irrelevant. The act should be the major contributing factor in every case.
  9. I compared it because they kicked their goals from very similar spots. If Wayne Halmes knocks the ball in to win a gf I will call it Jetta like. If Malcolm Blight kicks a barrel from the wing I will call it Jayden Hunt like. When a female footballer slots a goal to keep us alive in the premiership race I will praise her. I bleed red and blue and embrace the female football team because of the colours they wear that flow through my veins. I understand your simplistic idea thatDom Sheed’s goal was better due to the point in the match and likely outcome. But that means you put greater weight on minutes later in the game when every minute influences the outcome.
  10. We win by a point. You would be a terrible coach. Every act on the field is important for the team. Goodwin understands this and won’t play Garlett who doesn’t do the defensive pressure acts. A great goal. Every bit as skilful as Sheed’s but probably more complex. She doesen’t have the same strength in her leg as a man would under the same circumstances and the women’s preseason is much shorter than the men’s. This ultimately leads to the women having less feel for the footy and their skills suffer. The women’s game suffers because people are critical of the skills. I have tried to highlight a great goal please don’t try and reduce the importance of it.
  11. I hope May gets suspended again during the the season for running through someone fairly. In my lifetime the best teams have always been slightly over the top aggressive. I’m talking Brisbane, Geelong & Hawthorn. It is also my understanding that our premiership teams coached by Norm Smith and lead by Ron Dale were pretty rough and tumble but fair much like May.
  12. I don’t think a player like ANB can go backwards. The ones who make it on guts and work ethic rarely do. He will never have the flair of Petracca but he will play his role and be an important cog in the chaotic footy we play.
  13. Weid is quicker, more agile and taller but will never mark or make position like Pedersen.
  14. 1. Oliver 2. Gawn 3. Viney 4. Jetta 5. Hibberd
  15. I just noticed he bumps Frawley after he kicks it. I didn’t think that goal could get any better.
  16. Why? He has shown from day one he takes no prisoners.
  17. Tony Lockett is the greatest full forward of all time.
  18. My username is wrecker45. Unfortunately, in my lifetime I haven’t seen a premiership. The greatest passage of football and closest thing to a premiership I have seen is when whelan the wrecker took out hird and Travis Johnstone grabbed the ball that spilled into dispute. TJ slotted it from 55m on the boundary line. Yes we should bump blokes into tomorrow if we have the opportunity.
  19. I’m so sick of all the do gooders saying May was in the wrong. The great teams have always been brutal. We were in the 60’s. Geelong were and Hawthorn were in their dynasty’s. The Brisbane Lions who are the greatest team I have ever seen were. I Hope May gets reported and suspended again during the season. And again so every forward is worried he is coming. We have a 1 goal and that is a premiership. I have a feeling May will be drinking from the cup.
  20. Lack of goals is not his problem. Thumping people off the ball that could potentially run on and receive it again is part of every teams game plan.
  21. I’m still angry from Brent Moloney getting suspended when he missed the bloke who dived out of his way and landed on his head. We seem to get a terrible run at the tribunal / MRP For those saying it was a foolish act by May I don’t think you understand the culture we are building. Jeff Garlett is a magician near the goals but he doesn’t thump the opposition at every opportunity. He can’t get a game for a reason.
  22. I have a cousin who played with May and KK at the Gold Coast. Reckons May will be a superstar. Says KK is a defender that looks good but can’t defend. Does not rate him at all. I’m happy to back in our recruiters over the observations of a teammate. I have a feeling we have so many hard at it midfielders we have gone for one against the grain that is a little different to our usual drafting target but compliments the rest of the list. Time will tell.
  23. He is fantastic at ground level and when he gets a leap at the ball. Contested marks stats don’t count for when he is too easily blocked from getting near the footy.
  24. I’ve seen nothing this pre-season / jlt to change my opinion. He does lots right particularly at ground level but he can’t get his body in the right position to take strong contested marks which is what he needs to do to play his role.
