  1. Classic Toump
  2. Good to see Howe's playing forward in a finals-bound team in front of big crowds at the G, isn't it...oh, wait........
  3. Second round pick.
  4. Based upon their first round draft selections in the last several years, Prestia for pick #6 alone is not that bad of a deal at all. It is more a q of what else is packaged up with it in order to get the deal done. GC17 have them over a barrel because of a) the size of the contract Tigers have offered him and b) Tigers desperation not to 'miss out' like they did with Treloar.
  5. would be interested to know his contract size, and whether the likes of treloar and prestia (post 2017) dwarf it - i expect theirs would. he's better than both, for mine.
  6. has been playing really, really well in the back half of the year
  7. wasn't jacobs supposedly tagging trengove?
  8. weitering zones off and reads the play as well as mackie, and his kicking is probably as good.
  9. 2016 thus far: oliver harmes petracca o mac 2015: brayshaw hogan 2014: none 2013: viney 2012: tom mcdonald sam blease 2011: gysberts blease 2010: trengove scully gysberts 2009: grimes jurrah 2008: wonnaemirri garland morton 2007: petterd jones so 21 out of a possible 249, but two players twice. of that lot one is our skipper, one our best chb, one our next skipper, and then a further 6 best 25 players. that's not bad to have 9 of our best 25 nominated in the 19 players nominated we've had i don't think. hopefully the last 8 will play a lot of quality football for us for a long time too.
  10. i trust weitering far more with the ball in hand! to get a rise out of carlton supporters, compare him to jared rivers - they really hate it, mostly cos i think they can understand why the comparison can be made! aaron mackie is a kinder comparison, it's fair to say.
  11. reckon mills might be the exception here. it's btw him and daniel. i'd actually give it to daniel as mills might only be a first year player, but he's been involved with the swans academy for some time having been in their 'zone'. edit: petracca for third, but he'll be the best player nominated this year
  12. i thought t mac got his in his 13th overall, but o mac got his in his 13th in 2016 (and 15th overall)?
  13. What's his disposal like? Clearly the weakest aspect of Gus' game, but can be improved.
  14. Deledio would be hugely beneficial but at what cost? Will want decent $$ as it'll be his last contract and he's injury prone, yet still top 5 for tigers so they'll want a decent pick. Would rather Brandon Ellis - cheaper and younger, I think Hardwick plays him incorrectly and a good coach could get a lot out of him.
  15. no he didn't - he replaced jon pertwee!
  16. keep going dees and scorpions.
  17. i think it's his ability to read the play that makes him a 'smart' footballer. as i said, they don't often get it right once they've got it, but when the ball is in flight their judgement is astute and they know when to come off their man and impact the play. they need to learn to TALK more - some of their abilities to spoil each other / all not fly is infuriating.
  18. another great game last night from a developing youngster. he, tommy mac and frost are all smart footballers - they read the play so well, and whilst they don't always make the 'right' decision with the ball in hand, i back them in to get it right more often than not. i'd say o mac is tracking ahead of t mac at the same age.
  19. think he's gonna be a super-dooper-star.
  20. He's a weapon. Just needs to back himself going for goal. For what it's worth I actually think O Mac will get it off the back of tonight's performance!
  21. 6: Tyson 5: Vince 4: Gawn 3: O Mac 2: Bugg 1: Hunt Bugg's game seriously underrated.
  22. Tough conditions, we are playing them better at this stage.
  23. absolutely worth every cent. amazing that his last win at 'home' was against the triple-reigning premiers.
  24. i know it's not our problem any more, but i just don't get it. he's so much better down back. oh well, serves him right for leaving us for less coin!
  25. interesting listening to howe post-match on abc - he still hankers to play forward. he's a natural defender, i don't know why he's got such a bee in his bonnet around playing closer to goal.
