Jon Anderson's Best 22 Since 1970
i only started following footy in the mid-80s, but mine would be: B: Neville Jetta - Sean Wight - Alan Johnson HB: Brett Lovett - David Neitz - Steve Febey ? Robbie Flower - Clayton Oliver - Stephen Tingay HF: Garry Lyon - David Schwarz - Aaron Davey F: Brian Wilson - Allen Jakovich - Jeff Farmer Foll: Jimmy Stynes - Todd Viney - James McDonald I/c: Nathan Jones - Max Gawn - Adem Yze - Greg Healy very tempted to include anthony ingerson or - preferably - paul prymke in there as additional tall cover down back, but i figure dollars can always push defensively to help shore up the backline if required also a massive fan of glenn lovett - some of the best hands of any demon i've seen others under consideration: jack viney, graeme yeats, rod grinter, travis johnstone, andy lovell, brad green, shane woewodin, bernie vince, russell robertson, cam bruce, jeff white, matthew whelan goes to show how few "stars" we've had since the 'modern' afl era when you look at that side - and those that we have had have regularly been broken by injury

Sacked: Brock McLean reveals booze and drug binges
mclean, sylvia, moloney, watts...seems it was culturally endemic throughout the club during the mid-00s

Sacked: Brock McLean reveals booze and drug binges
He was exactly the sort of player we needed to get out of our club - as he himself says, he was partying too hard I think he read the play beautifully and got himself a nice extended and expensive contract at the Blues when his form over the previous few years probably didn’t justify it - he definitely wasn’t the player he promised to be; more Marc Macgowan than Rob Harvey - the article talks about his ‘leg speed’ and I genuinely lol’d cos Chook was as slow as treacle I wonder how much gear he was raging on the night he poured a bucket of pish all over us on the couch... Ironic that he did so while at Carltank, the only club with an assistant coach who happily admitted they were tanking

Sacked: Brock McLean reveals booze and drug binges
No wonder he was finished as a footballer by 28. Brock McLean’s double life battling alcohol and drug issues and an eating disorder — and the remarkable road back

Jon Anderson's Best 22 Since 1970
he's been doing this thing every week during the downtime; reckons that the dees one is one of the hardest he's had to look at as we've not had many stand-out players or periods of time over the journey nevertheless, not a bad side B: Laurie Fowler – Sean Wight – Alan Johnson HB: Brett Lovett – Gary Hardeman – Adem Yze C : Stan Alves – Greg Wells – Robbie Flower HF: Garry Lyon (Capt.) – David Schwarz – Brian Wilson F: Jeff Farmer – David Neitz – Allen Jakovich Foll: Jim Stynes – Gerard Healy – Todd Viney I/c: Max Gawn – Nathan Jones – Clayton Oliver – Brad Green Coach: John Northey they also teased that they've got a demon on the 'sacked' podcast this friday and that it's a doozy

Coronavirus: AFL & MFC
fox sports has been doing it for years during the escort community service cup makes no difference - a lot of them are still terrible play-by-play and 'special' commentators fox generally has a body on the ground so it'll be interesting to see whether 7 do is bruce going to be calling from a bunker in adelaide while the others are in melbourne?

GAME 29: Demonland's Best/Favourite Demon 1988-2020 - Lyon vs Gawn

Pies Keen To Restart Season on Queen’s Birthday
i think you'll find both dees and the filth are keen on this as the first game of the new season, as it falls in that sweet spot of mid-june when they think they might be able to get up and running again however, i can't see how it could possibly make sense - why start the season on a monday arvo, meaning these two sides have a week off the following thurs-sun, presuming that the plan is that matches will only be played in 'normal' timeslots as they have said as recently as yesterday?

2009 ReDrafted
at the time i think i wanted $cully and trengrove at 1 and 2, talia at 11, and then to call the filth's bluff and pick luke ball at 18 i was in the room when whoever it was doing the draft - i'm pretty sure it was vlad - announced that we'd picked 'luke......tapscott' for about half a second i thought we'd shown some backbone and not kowtowed to eddie i'm with you @Earl Hood - wanted hurley at 1 in 08 but i think the thought at the time was that we'd gone frawley the year over the forward in jack riewoldt, so it really was a choice btw watts and nic nat c'est la vie

GAME 23: Demonland's Best/Favourite Demon 1988-2020 - Neitz vs Robertson
ye goodness, those were the days neitz, schwarz, robertson, green, farmer - not a bad forward set-up!
-
2009 ReDrafted
the hate for $cully from the majority of mfc supporters is mostly pantomime, isn't it? i have always enjoyed the fact that he played 31 senior games for us - the quintessential mfc number? trengove was a real shame - he was outstanding at sanfl level in his junior year, oozed leadership, and was placed in an environment where he was called on to do too much too soon; his first two seasons showed so much promise when he came back he'd gone from a 65m player (run 15, kick it 50) to a player who could barely kick over 40 metres and could barely rise out of what looked to be a slow jog injuries are cruel

Demonland's Best/Favourite Demon 1988-2020 (Game 2)
green for me; didn't walk out on us to get a longer deal, a better user of the pill than bruce, whose ball drop was horrific mind you, if brent guerra hadn't buried green into the carpark against the aints when he was in electric form, smashing his shoulder in the process, bruce was showing the hallmarks of having a star season that year never recovered
