Time to start a rebuild?
eerily similar - they were premiers in 2018, finals in 19-20, 10 wins in 2021, then 2 3 5 wins in 2022-24 respectively we 100% have done plenty to bring in youngsters tho - since the premiership we've picked 6 1st round picks (2 tall forward, 4 midfield types), and had success with mcvee as a rookie selection it's much more than meth coke ever did

petracca for him in a straight swap; who says no?

Trade Targets
in the same way that i rated salem at the same age - he looks promising (better than langford, for mine), he has clean disposal, he runs to the right spots... ...but we're going to have given a helluva lot up for him at the end of the day so he better end up as a superstar and / or toby sinnema and kalani white become similar and we get them 'cheap' we gave up a lot to get lindsay and tholstrup, so we need them both to become genuine a-graders not solid citizens

oh great, mfcss law dictates he'll now kick 5 goals 1 from 6 kicks in a few weeks...

How did we get here? Is it your fault?
that the beginning of the end of this brief moment of success for the mfc was a senior player who has a history of violence when drunk - and is currently under suspicion of another alcohol-fuelled violent act, this time against a member of the public - was in a punch-up with another senior player after a boozy session at a super posh french restaurant is SO melbourne

this myth about petty being offered for two first rounders from the crom has gotta stop there was never any such offer

NON-MFC: Round 05
flagmantle and the tigs will cream us

Time to go Goody?
choc should have gone years ago - our skill level is non existent and has regressed year on year lamb should go for trading what will be pick 1 or 2 plus extra 2nd rounders for the pick that became lindsay; as good as he might become, that one has the chance to haunt us for two decades griffiths has gotta go - our fitness has dropped off the cliff this year in particular i don't know what richardson does, but as the man ostensibly in charge of the entire football dept it appears he oversees a rabble

touk miller and sam flanders are two of gc17's best players, max king is their main target i50 they're not going anywhere tim lamb trading away our first rounder in 2025 for the pick that became xavier lindsay is going to end up as the all time great draft swindle peptides are looking at a top 3 pick, and that's if we can find a way to win some games - which doesn't look likely

Time to go Goody?
it's not a myth we are demonstrably trying out a new gameplan it is clearly a complete failure

PREGAME: Rd 06 vs Fremantle
will be 100+ point margin 16k in the crowd, tops goodwin sacked before anzac day eve
-
Time to start a rebuild?
no current assistant is leaving their current club to take over as caretaker it'd be one of bassett or - more likely - chaplin to take over if goodwin's role was terminated during the season

GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs Essendon
played his 100th, now needs to go back to the vfl such a disappointment
-
GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs Essendon
the drop of from all our senior players is marked gawn, viney, may, trac, oliver - all demonstrably worse than last year, when they were worse than the year before, and so on and so forth langdon the only player at the moment who is performing at a standard expected from a senior player
-
GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs Essendon
lovely gather but all he does is bomb it
-
GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs Essendon
finally took a mark from 20 i50 entries and nic martin took that personally
-
GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs Essendon
it really does feel like that doesn't it messy, sloppy, poor skills, zero pressure defensively how we have fallen so far from this time last year is just galling
-
GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs Essendon
the lack of pressure is just appalling so many easy entries i50
-
GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs Essendon
we laid a tackle as yet? absolutely no pressure on the peptides whatsoever

Time to start a rebuild?
if i adjusted yr side and added those 5 plus mentha and sestan, who i think show afl-level attributes, it could be... B: McVee (21) - Petty (25) - Moniz-Wakefield (21) HB: Windsor (19) - Adams (20) - Bowey (22) C: Sinnema (17) - Langford (19) - Lindsay (18) HF: Petracca (29) - van Rooyen (21) - Chandler (25) FF: Turner (23) - Jefferson (21) - Mentha (18) Foll: White (17) - Oliver (27) - Pickett (23) I/c: Langdon (29) - Rivers (23) - Sestan (20) - Tholstrup (19) Sub: Prasad (16) that's a decent side, missing a key back and - sigh - a key forward
-
Time to start a rebuild?
add these three: Sinnema (17) - on the wing White (17) - ruck Prasad (16) - forward pocket personally if yr expecting langdon to play on given that oliver and petracca are both contracted, you might as well add them too we've got the genesis of a fairly decent team

NON-MFC: Round 05
having a generational player like darcy land in their lap as a father-son has been a big part of that what i've been impressed by bevo's work in the last couple of years is to transition lobb into one of the best defenders in the competition and to take lachy bramble from an also-ran into one of the best rebounding defenders in the competition and this is even without jamara becoming the player he promised to be even as recently as last year due to a myriad of...issues

Time to start a rebuild?
is it really taking that long? pert announced his resignation at the end of october - that's not even 6 months ago most ceo hunts take longer than that; i was at a company that had a temp ceo for about 15 months not too long ago, got the new bloke in, who promptly burned everything to the ground cos he was so bad at the job better to get it right than wrong
