  1. but that's the thing - that's all you've got; suspicions you don't have any knowledge or insight with regards to the blanket statements you make on this or any other thread also bolded part is not true; the crows latest board appointments is all about having the political sway to get them a home base in the cbd as opposed to out at west lakes
  2. yeah, unfortunately it's well known - hence why all foxtel / kayo advertising is about having 'every game of every round of the home and away season' - they've never had the rights to telecast the grand final for either as it's a ch 7 or ch 9 exclusive i had to resort to 7+ to stream the grand final - it was on about a 2-3 minute delay and in sd
  3. melksham is also the 'organiser' once t mac's form was so appalling that he had to be dropped, melksham was the only experienced player forward of centre
  4. be interesting to see how different the final draft order ends up being after free agency compensation, and points being utilised accordingly on father-sons, next gen academies, etc.
  5. this is true but if the ratings were elite, very good, good, average, below average, and poor i think he'd be in the average band his kicking improved the minute he started powering out of contests rather than handballing, hack-kicking
  6. well, i thoroughly enjoyed that hard not to look on with incredibly envy
  7. name was poor but the content was excellent
  8. apparently if the lightning / lights going out forces the game to be called off in the first half then they'll have a replay; if it happens after half time the winner will be declared as whoever is in front
  9. imagine if they call the whole thing off and everyone has to stay where they are
  10. bit small maybe? you'd expect that he might be one that slides
  11. he wasn't even an adult when he moved halfway across the country and played in the vfl for a year before doing his back in and missing the first year he was able to play at senior level he won the rising star in his second year showcasing the sort of key forward form you'd expect of a mature 25-year old - dominating contested marks and kicking 40+ goals in a side that still was average at best had a rotten run in 2017 with his father's death, his own cancer, then a broken shoulder...if he had had a clean run that season, we would've stood a far greater chance of making finals that season instead of missing out by the smallest percentage margin on record his time at the dees was littered with missed opportunities; he didn' t even get to taste finals action in the year in which his 50-odd goals in 20 games made a vital contribution to us making them for the first time in 12 seasons we all know he's good enough to play a key role as a forward in a good afl side it all comes down to what he wants
  12. i'd go higgins > aarts > ronke in order of preference there aarts is the elder of the trio but looks the most 'ready to go'
  13. reports in the herald scum / sadvertiser have it going the other way; crows' losing hope of getting pick 2 as compo
  14. de goey is set to sign for 2 years to take him up to being a free agent backing himself in to get REALLY paid in a couple of years
  15. if the peppies get his bro from footscray i would expect that they'll take him earlier than 9
  16. one pre-season away you say? that's sounds like an mfc player if ever i've heard of one!
  17. if it's true that aliir x2 is going to the pear, then you can completely understand why the swans are after t mac - as a defender
  18. hunt, pickett are lightning quick
  19. this is why i love demonland
  20. if you don't ask you don't get!
  21. i heard that too sounded like sam edmund throwing darts to me
  22. birchall has triggered his 2021 contract by dint of the amount of games he played in 2020 and intends to go on witherden is on serious coin for the next two years; not sure we could afford him given other targets (brown, i smith, phillips)
  23. $177m of taxpayer money over the course of 15 years to help them monetize their stadium - from which they earn 100% of the signage and naming rights - has been a tremendous 'assistance' in terms of them becoming and maintaining their position as a big club they have massive advantages that no other club has, from lifestyle through to training venue (their own home ground) and facilities, not to mention the constant rumours that cotton on deals 'help' with recruitment and retention from wikipedia re the stadium: A A$28 million redevelopment of the ground was announced in 2003, with A$13.5 million in funding from the Victorian Government, A$4.5 million from the Geelong Football Club, and A$2 million from the AFL. In September 2007, Skilled Stadium received a further total of A$25 million towards the rebuilding of the Ross Drew Stand on the south western side of the ground. Funding for the project included A$14 million from the Federal Government and A$6 million from the Victorian Government. April 2011: redevelopment cost $33 million, of which $11.7 million was spent on the new lighting. The total cost of the fourth stage of redevelopment was $91 million, of which $75m came from the Victorian Government, $6m from the City of Greater Geelong, $6 million from the Geelong Football Club and $4 million from the AFL. In April 2017, the Victorian Government announced an investment of $3.9 million in the upcoming state budget to fund the planning and design stage for Stage 5 of the redevelopment. The proposed redevelopment would be the final part of the more than decade-long process to increase the capacity of Kardinia Park to 40,000 and will result in the Ford Stand and Gary Ablett Terrace being removed for the new stand to ring around the remaining open-air section of the stadium.
