  1. in and out of the best 22 and i honestly see him being much the same at footscray
  2. higgins is also still one of the best at his role in the competition cats have arguably paid significant 'overs' but if you factor in smith as well in the trade it's smith and higgins - two genuinely good players - for pick 30 cats are about getting a premiership now; they want to give danger than premiership he (doesn't?) deserve
  3. atrocious output i firmly believe that he stayed in the side only for 'leadership' for the f50 crew - no one else of our core 5 (weed, lj, pickett, spargo, avb, melksham) had anything like his experience needs a big 2021
  4. we recruited him to play on the wing at the g; only got a couple of opportunities and his game against the cats was pretty positive - if he'd taken his time and gone back and nailed that set show we might've made finals his form once we headed up north was hideous but i thought once he came back into the side as a key defender i thought he played a really important role it'll be interesting to see how the footy dept utilise him in 2021 and beyond; for mine, he looks a natural part of the backline as he's good one on one, has excellent endurance to run with the 'power running' forwards, and is a neat kick he cost us nothing other than salary cap contribution so...his acquisition worked for me
  5. bargain for us, good get for north, hurts the filth it's a win for mine!
  6. weed's best game for us - geelong elimination final in 2018 - he basically played as a chf, roaming everywhere and doing some (minimal) relief ruck work
  7. i think yr missing the point of what i said - he's worth the EQUIVALENT of a first round pick; he's an established regular goalkicker and it's not true that nobody else wants him; we were into him, as too were at least the aints and the peptides who both had 'dialogue' with him i think two picks in the 30-40 range is an absolute bargain for a top range full forward at his peak years
  8. i'd personally have no issues giving two picks in the 30s - they'll end up being closer to picks in the 40s brown is easily worth a first round draft pick equivalent imo - he's ready to go and a gun, particularly if you compare with cameron over the last five seasons i think it's perfectly justifiable for north to demand more than pick 31 or 33, for instance, given the fact that gw$ are rejecting 3 first round picks for a player who has similar numbers to that which we'd be looking to give up two speculative picks in the 30-40 range
  9. and hore i think it'll actually work out as... salem, hunt, hore, brown FOR pick 2 (josh kelly), pick 20 (which became 21, which was jarman impey)
  10. very happy with that bit of business!
  11. i nearly fell off my chair when i thought that was a done deal if we get anything under pick 50 from gw$ for preuss we'd have to be happy with that
  12. doesn't he want something ridic like $600k a year over the next four seasons? he's....just not that good
  13. more possessions + more goals = higher fantasy points it's primarily geared around high-possession mids and goalscorers supercoach is SLIGHTLY more measured - it accounts for effectively of possessions, as supercoach points = champion data ranking points but they're both still in favour of mids and goalscorers etc. it's not a fair way to measure a player's actual value, particularly for low-possession negating defenders
  14. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/essendon-set-for-contested-board-election-20201109-p56cxh.html
  15. he's a midget; he'll go to essendon
  16. with only 9 games played in 2020, he should be eligible for the rising star next season? should join the likes of - gulp! - jordan gysberts as a player who gets two rising star nominations in consecutive years oh, that's right...he didn't get one in 2020...
  17. still reckon he's gonna be a good 'n
  18. he won't drop any salary for the next two years i thought we might get away paying $200k per annum but it would appear that we'll have to pay closer to $300-350k if he's on upwards of $700k guaranteed a year
  19. methinks they'll all be long-retired by 2031 :P billings is an rfa at the end of 2021, however, and would be every chance to leave the aints given how much they've invested in midfield stocks (brouch, hannebery, hill)
  20. the filth's 2010 and footscray's 2016 sides were completely - and mistakenly? - dismantled
  21. salem is a far superior player to saad if salem played for one of the 'big teams' he'd be a lot more highly regarded
  22. the higher pick you give up, the more the filth should pay give up a first rounder? pies should have a third of his salary going under their cap for the duration of the five years the fact that they only want to pay $100k of the rumoured $900k for 2021 and NOTHING after that for the remaining four years is a joke
  23. i think we can all agree that rendell has no idea outside the collingwood list and - to a lesser degree - the adelaide list i'm just amazed he's yet to say something racist
