  1. His future media and corporate career aspirations are enormous, partly because heโ€™ll - in all likelihood - be a one-club player, which helps his โ€˜brandโ€™
  2. afl ratings are based upon a rolling average of 40 games let's wait and see where he's rated once he hits that mark playing the 'sweeper' role that he has been doing since the start of this season
  3. some have not all, it would seem
  4. i was thinking the same thing but their pressure rating being so poor has me concerned
  5. if he goes and jackson goes, then we simply must match whatever the offer is for gus, and force a trade he'll be a first round compo pick, you'd think, but i would much rather match, force a trade, and get peptides' pick 7 or so and give something back the other way than get a pick 20 or so
  6. where do you stand on the expectation of the move to play two key forwards going forward from now?
  7. the pressure of expectation is too much to bare that said, when we have been up and flying - vs bears - it's been glorrrious to watch
  8. didn't see em last year when they finished 17th and were - save for their grand final on queen's birthday - pretty much awful all year?
  9. don't forget jimmy toumpas! might as well add stevie armstrong in there too!!
  10. if he stays he stays; if he goes he goes he's having a ripping year...as a half-back flanker even better year than last year...where it was a defensive wing and in turn that was better than the last time he played as a pure mid...nearly 5 seasons ago! he might come back and be the greatest inside midfielder essendon has had since jab watson...and i still doubt he'd be better than the combo of clayton oliver, christian petracca, and jack viney even playing as a half-back interceptor his defensive workrate can be mighty suspect
  11. more definitely more andy than @binman, but listening to relentless anti-mfcss from the latter is somewhat...cathartic? wish i had anything close to the confidence! it's an absolute must listen when it goes live as a podcast - great work as always
  12. if he does choose to leave as a free agent and picks the peptides - ๐Ÿคฎ - we simply MUST match and force a trade to get their 2023 first round pick no way can we let gus walk and only get a pick in the 15-20 range
  13. you can shave about $400k off the rumoured per annum salary indicated by sumich, and even then it's STILL $2-300k a year more than we are offering i'm going to be shattered if / when he announces he wants to return to wa, as i think he's a generational talent if the rumours are true re his reasoning behind wanting to go 'home' are personal, so be it at this stage, however, he's an exciting, promising talent rather than the whole article
  14. we've had a pretty bad spate of copping injuries early in the games this season it would seem that burgess isn't just good at managing injury and fitness but also brings a fair dose of luck with him
  15. yep, heaps from our own club, viney is an obvious one
  16. so we score 100 points, and have 110 scored against us, and people want to swap one of the three pillars of our backline out to send em forward? i don't understand the logic of doing so whatsoever
  17. the money that has been talked about as being on offer from freo is - from a reasonable source - not even close to accurate it's still huge money for a 20 year old - over $800k a year - but not close to the rumoured $1.25m per annum over eight seasons
  18. 6: Oliver 5: ANB 4: Brayshaw 3: Fritsch 2: Gawn 1: Weideman
  19. switched and changed i thought - petty when he was up the ground further and moving back i50, which was when i thought it got lost, with tomlinson and petty not getting the 'change over' right
  20. without lever we really lacked leadership in the backline i don't know / understand what's happened to may, but since he copped that concussion vs freo / at entrocote he's been a shell of his former self on the one hand i thought petty was very good; on the other had 5 kicked on him frustrating game to watch as i thought it was completely played on their terms - fast, open, lots of ball movement it's not all doom and gloom - this season is crazy even and i think anyone from 2-10 is in with a chance if everything 'clicks' for them, but at the moment i think the cats are clear favourites which is annoying as all hell
  21. Yep you can see why they were keen on Cerra Surely with gw$ having a fire sale we can get a good midfielder to add to our rotation
  22. Lovely lead and mark, good kick, absolutely pathetic in a contest or 1:1 situation
  23. IN: Lever, Chandler, Brown OUT: Tomlinson, Melksham, Weideman
