  1. i always thought it was the other way around; thompson was coming back from a broken arm, the side was settled and in finals, hence he wasn't selected
  2. 2026 and 2027 future 1sts, thanks - teams can trade two years in advance as of the end of this year, i believe, and while i don't think he'll be leaving to flagmantle at the end of the season, that'd be my opening requirement at a minimum i don't think it's too surprising that he might want to do this, but there's a lot of obstacles in the way to make it happen
  3. i take it that howes is training to play more of the '3rd tall' role, a la lever?
  4. His manager is Peter Rohde, I believe? He is fairly straight down the line
  5. it'll be the same story as every year; kozi is homesick and wants to go home to sa...no, wait...wa...no, wait, sa...maybe the nt? he's contracted til the end of 2027; if he wants to go he wants to...at the end of the year

i still have my doubts that will ever happen...with a roof on it

yes, yr negativity towards anything, everything is well understood however, as has been made clear by the mfc many times over, this is about more than just a home base for us but about community-based engagement and projects in order to enable that home base to happen i will wager that we will be at our caulfield based within the next decade; i.e. before 2035
  8. i think we and the filth are remarkably similar in terms of what our output is, if not our method i expect both us to be pushing for top 8 in 2025, it not top 4 both teams are very much set up as 'win now' teams who should be striving to be in the premiership 'conversation'
  9. 2024: Mihocek, de Goey, Hill, Elliot: 80 goals from 62 games JVR, Petracca, Pickett, Fritsch: 121 goals from 78 games 2023: Mihocek, de Goey, Hill, Elliot: 137 goals from 93 games JVR, Petracca, Pickett, Fritsch: 131 goals from 85 games fairly similar output in 2023 (van rooyen's first year in the afl) and then quite a bit more scoreboard impact in 2024 for the dees' foursome that you nominated as a comparison point fwiw, the filth really missed mihocek in 2024 - he straightens then up remarkably

There’s always money in the banana stand
  11. ah, i read it on the sun website first and they were saying 6-12 weeks; presumably they actually meant months i did think 'that's a quick recovery'
  12. i saw 6-12 weeks from now nominated as a likely timeframe, so back before gil's round a chance
  13. Negligence! (Alleged) Trade demanded!! (By the media)
  14. could be worse
  15. bit hard to sack player's managers
  16. i dunno, i reckon in most 6-6-6 set-ups at the bounce, it's fritsch tethered to the goalsquare
  17. not sure who this harrison perry fella is, but for the most part this is great coverage without having access to the final 14 questions posed it's hard to judge where hb meyers positions us in the premiership race in 2025, but for the most part i thought this was a very positive forward-looking article
  18. i 100% disagree with the notion that fritsch is not a key forward; i would say he is THE key forward in our set-up what he obviously isn't is a TALL forward
  19. such different sorts of content being produced under the new media and comms head great to watch
  20. laura kane is just another product of the melbourne uni law school / uni blacks / employed by a consultancy firm / consultant to the afl / employed by a club / poached to head office boys' club she just happens to be a women is all vlad started it when he appointed trust fund baby gil cos he was desperate to be part of the toff's clubs that he was born with a membership in

half the press corp are members of clubs for this exact reason - no need to ask charlie stringbag for the email when it lands in yr own

one difference btw dingley and caulfield racecourse is that the ground doesn't have to treated for hazardous materials i seem to recall that that caused some delay there
  23. spurs are right where they should be imo - they're an entertaining team to watch, as you never know what they'll do in 10 mins, let alone 90 i do think it's hilarious that one of the most data-lead football back office hired ange, a man who is very much set in his style of playing epl is at least somewhat competitive this year, albeit that the top tier teams are the same as it ever was, which gets...boring that's why leicester city's premiership title win outta nowhere was so good

i think it's not so much a case of us letting it 'slip' but if it doesn't work out, it's not for want of trying we've had three or goes at getting a home base in the last decade or so, and we feel - to me at least - like we are closer than we've been in my lifetime, and probably since the 60s
