  1. rick looks like the king of the kids in the photos great to see
  2. players who left and went to different clubs - houston was telling everyone he was going to the baggers, and tippett was telling everyone he was going to the bears players who were under contract, stayed, and played in premierships - papley was telling everyone he was going to the baggers, as was ryan o'keefe
  3. cos he's under contract til the end of 2027 and loves the club, he just doesn't love living in melbourne
  4. hbo max is launching locally in april, apparently optus is in the process of selling to ninefax
  5. i find it's better to complain about the potholes at the agm tho
  6. if you ask some former disney employees, it was meant to launch about two years ago, but got pushed back significantly due to resource strain last i heard they were aiming for nfl 25/26 season launch, but i don't think they'll make that timeline at this point in time
  7. you should write a stern letter
  8. i supsect bazalenka has earned more $$ with his endorsement deals than he has as an afl player as yet
  9. wait'll they lose espn when the standalone espn+ launches locally
  10. same height as boomer harvey and he was good for a record of 432 games
  11. and all your information from everyone in your contact's list too
  12. marcus prasad and toby sinnema both sound genuinely exciting; really encouraging that the latter played more games as a bottom-ager last season than any other player disappointing that we don't have ah-mu eligible as well, but add kalani white and that's three likely prospects for dees in 2025 in a year in which we don't have a first round selection I didn't spot a father / son prospect in these profles @Whispering_Jack - presume you were referring to white?
  13. who is the person with the backwards hat moving thru as an inside mid - jai culley?
  14. pneumonia as a result of covid back at the club within the next few weeks
  15. we won that!
  16. no, but we on demonland are the rusted on footy followers what they're concerned about is the likes of my children - a near 18, 15.5, and 13 year old who have little / no interest in the sport despite growing up in a household where their dad is an avid fan, worked in the industry, etc. etc. their #1 complaint is about the length of time it takes, from going to the game (and we live 5 stops from richmond station) to being there and actually watching it, to getting home after, as it's quite a significant commitment the near 18 year old will happily go to a game every few weeks, especially while the weather is pleasant, but the younger two have little to no interest outside of 'did the dees win? great!'
  17. i think inspired by the fact that a 48 min game is currently taking about 120 minutes to complete with the amount of timeouts and video reviews etc. etc. they're losing eyeballs to the tokkitikkies of the world
  18. interesting that the nha head honcho - the lizard-alike adam silver - has also recently floated that the nba could look at reducing quarters from 12 to 10 minutes i just wish they'd reduce games for both competitions; everyone should play each other once in the afl, alternating who has home and away rights each year, and just home and away in the nba it would be so much better
  19. by 'bender' you mean watching the replay on a loop, right?
  20. his piece about jamara today didn't have nearly the amount of pearl-clutching seen with previous missives on petracca, oliver, horne-francis or others
  21. i definitely hugged randoms in the stands that nite
  22. my understanding is this is correct the lists are finalised and any changes - e.g. retirements, cas-related suspensions, etc. - thereafter the player effectively remains on the list until the next list lodgement period
  23. no, but i sure do miss quality records
  24. houston and whitfield are two of the best rebounding defenders in the competition i'd argue that mcvee is a better 'defender' per se; his 1:1 work and ability to 'stop' his oppo is fantastic he's a 'neat' kick who focuses on maintaining possession whereas houston and whitfield are attacking kicks
