i presume, if caro's report is true, that guerra pushed for jab as he knows him and trusts his judgement as previously stated, lewis recused himself from it as he's best mates with buckley

2025 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
so based on the above, @spirit of norm smith , you think that meth coke will take 2 sa lads with their first picks? it's akin to the strategy that gw$ employed early days - take boys who had played together in underage football and hope that they are bonded together and bring that synergy to their play in the afl as well crom and pear love poaching a player home as much as they do for wa boys so it's a bold strategy
-
NON-MFC: Round 23
if flagmantle miss finals - and quite frankly, at this point i think they will - then surely longmuir has to go, with just 1 finals series in 6 seasons
-
CASEY: Rd 21 vs Box Hill Hawks
he's a chance to be a good chb in the vfl marked strongly last week in an undersized defence
-
Farewell Judd McVee
watson, moore, and ginnivan is a helluva small combo to come up against this weekend he'll need another big game defensively
-
Top 50 AFLW players
lauren pearce is clearly one of the best rucks in the competition and easily in the top 50 i'd argue tahlia gillard is one of the best key defenders in the game and should be in there too no liv purcell in the top 50?
-
AFLW SEASON OPENS THIS WEEK
if goldrick isn't in our best side then we're going okay, i think no gillard is a real concern - she's one of the best key defenders in the competition
-
AFLW SEASON OPENS THIS WEEK
i know i've requested this before, but can further thought be given to moving all the aflw content into the main board @Demonland? i often forget this board is here, and like many i am just as keen to chat about our women's program as our men's

NON-MFC: Round 23
i want to see us knock the filth out of finals in the last round
-
NON-MFC: Round 23

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
is this melbourne 'two salary caps' storm that yr referring to? i'm okay with jab being aboard the coaching hunt as he loathes james hird, so that likely rules the latter out of being appointed our coach on the recommendation of the former

Farewell Judd McVee
i suspect it may have been jackson hateley, who left gw$ two years after being drafted at pick #13 to go to the crom in 2020 they couldn't get a deal done, so he joined the latter via the psd he only lasted two years there and is now in the vfl, i think https://www.afc.com.au/news/835814/crows-set-to-take-hately-via-pre-season-draft The Crows could not reach an agreement with the Giants prior to the end of the AFL Trade Period on Thursday evening. Crows General Manager List Management and Strategy Justin Reid said Hately remains committed to wearing the tricolours next season. “Jackson wants to be at the Crows in 2021 and given we have the first pick in the pre-season draft, we will be able to make this happen," Reid said.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
lewis can't be on it as he's one of buckley's best mates

the timing was pretty clear - gives us 6 weeks to appoint a senior coach, ideally in preliminary final week
-
Trade Targets
elliott also has four or five more years of experience and afl nous than fritsch it's exactly why we need to perservere with fritsch as a key component of our f50 he's the sort of player than any serious club would love to have in their side

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
she's not really a journalist anymore; more an opinionist
-
Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
i am nevertheless impressed by yr clutching for misery
-
Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
ah, that's some epic levels of mfcss - full hanrahan!

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
that the media were more concerned about this than discussing why goodwin was let go said volumes about the state of afl medja it was only really the guardian that looked at the reasons why; https://www.theguardian.com/sport/blog/2025/aug/05/afl-simon-goodwin-sacking-by-melbourne-demons-was-ruthless-but-the-right-call

Farewell Judd McVee
doubly so if harley leaves end of 2026 on the back of oscar allen leaving as a free agent at the end of this season they're going to have picks 1 and 2 in this draft, plus - probably - be given a start-of-second-round pick as a priority pick that's four picks inside, say, what will end up being top 30 that won't make them better over the next few years, but it may help them in 2029 onwards
-
Troy Chaplin MFC interim coach 2025
i suspect they were just shattered after giving their all for 2.5 hours to fall a goal short
-
Farewell Judd McVee
if he wants to go, what's he worth? this draft is so compromised and, apparently, low on quality, that i would be keen to get a player for him unless we think we need points in 2025 / 2026 for white, sinnema this draft, and then prasad in 2026
-
Troy Chaplin MFC interim coach 2025
that [censored] kornes hated this stuff, so you know that it was good chaplin could not stand him when they were together at the pear i think we know who is the better football person and leader in a club environment
-
Cam Bruce to Melbourne?
who knows it's all just rumour at this point in time

yes, the form dropped off the cliff the psychological damage by dropping four finals in two years of straight sets exits must have been enormous goodwin talked about how hard he drove the players to start 2021 - i do wonder if he burned them out tom mcdonald going down with a foot injury when he was playing so well at chf and then the punch-up at entrocote, compounded by flagmante giving teams a template on how to beat us, was the end of the golden run still, 17 wins in a row and a premiership it was glorrrious
