New assistant coaches at the Demons?
whatwhat say what replied to Supreme_Demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
on these... leppitsh - not leaving, moving into a senior football administration role, will be groomed as a future football ceo bruce, gia, stevie j - worth a conversation simpson - will he want to move his family back straight away? how old are the kids etc.? grimes, hawkins, cotchin - have any expressed any interest in coaching? bolton - is he leaving the filth? the one i'm keen to speak to from a back office perspective is simon mathews, who was 2nd choice as tigs' new ceo replacing gale, is incredibly highly regarded, and would seem to be a logical fit within a club such as ours- 114 replies

listening to caro on 3aw, she thinks the communication issue is as much on trac as it is with the club; he needs to communicate what the issues that he's had actually are, which haven't appeared to be outlined no one player is bigger than the club and if he doesn't want to be part of the future then so be it i would like to know what issues he actually has with the club

i hope we do pluck some gems mids. mids, and more mids! langford looks a likely sort to me - tall left footer who hits packs hard - but ovbs i ain't an expert

we're going to have pick 5-7 before nga and academy i'm loathe to trade it if we can split it into two and trade one first rounder for him, fine i think our 2025 1st rounder is 100% on the table with tairon ah-mu and kalani white set to come in

it would seem to be a fait accompli that he's going to the crom for the 2nd round pick that we gave up for mcadam absolute bargain for them
-
it really does sound increasingly like he's completely disenfranchised with the club if that's the case, there's no point in retaining him
-
max king is uncompetitive if he doesn't mark the ball

how we seem to have accepted that anb is leaving to go 'home' without the deal being done is absolutely infuriating he has requested a trade; it has not happened yet he's got two years to go on a very healthy contract is he going to retire if crom / pear can't satisfy us in a trade? how we've handled his trade request has been acquiescent

2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
whatwhat say what replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
would be nice if things went our way for the first time this season... we need both gc17 and the aints to win by more than 2 goals so that they go above us on the ladder on percentage that would leave us with pick 5 at the start of the draft; if things don't go our way we will have pick 7 but that could potentially be pushed our three spots to pick 10 after the two bids for ashcroft and lombard plus the compo pick for battle either way, would love a player who can run thru the midfield with speed and skill anyone who can hit a target by foot would be nice -
ignore the game, it was irrelevant what would you accept as a suitable trade for petracca? or oliver? or fritch? or bowey? what are our glaring weaknesses and do we have the players to currently fix them on our list or do we need to recruit to bring in to fill holes / plug gaps / create competition for roles? which of our youngsters do you expect to get better in 2025? which of our fringe players do you expect to cement a role in the afl side in 2025?

as a forward coach he cobbled together a premiership forward 6 from the backline and the scrap heap -
and rounds 2, 3, 4 possibly more he'll have the book thrown at him

the horror, the horror -
only watched the first half and then went home i didn't think gawn did much in the first half; did he do enough to claim a 7th all oztrayan or will it go to xerri, a clearly inferior ruckman? i thought pickett was great - only player who looked lively forward of centre salem the best of a bad lot and i guess mcdonald was decent in the air defensively 3: pickett 2: salem 1: mcdonald
