  1. hard to argue with the make-up of the team but for opening bounce - and it's purely semantics - i don't think viney and petracca will be starting on the pine, nor windsor B: Howes - May - Lever HB: Windsor - Petty - Salem C: Billings - Rivers - Bowey HF: Fritsch - Turner - Sharp FF: Petracca - van Rooyen - Chandler Foll: Gawn - Oliver - Viney Int: Langdon - Langford - Lindsay - Sparrow Sub: Woewodin very interested to see how we mix up that running half-back and defensive wingman role in 2025 - windsor, salem, bowey, lindsay, and woey 2.0 all look more than capable of waxing and waning in the position
  2. watched the second half on replay after watching the first half live firstly, on the oppo... i'd be very concerned if i was clarkson - north lacked any intensity in the second half and applied minimal pressure; daniel, parker, and darling might add experience but they offer nothing defensively while their senior players have skill but other than ldu the workrate isn't there on us... we just looked a better team, with arguably 12 of our best 25 not in the side: 1. may 3. salem 4. mcvee 5. petracca 6. windsor 7. viney 10. spargo 11. gawn 12. tholstrup 15. langdon 18. melksham 31. fritsch on those that did play... highlights: super impressed by langford and lindsay, billings looks like he's running hard to make space, oliver's burst speed away from stoppages is back, rivers is a classy permanent addition to the mids, van rooyen is a beauty with 4 goals in the second half while sharp looks a likely type in the forward half with the occasional bit of work up the wing lowlights: jefferson is simply not strong enough in the contest, laurie doesn't impact as a mid and is poor under pressure, and losing moniz-wakefield to a likely acl is a real shame
  3. time to merge this into the mid-season draft thread
  4. back in town! while mcadam and moniz-wakefield weren't necessarily starting xxiii, how will their respective 'positional' roles be covered? i was surprised how much of a small forward role sharp played in the practice game; do you see him primarily as a small forward or a wing / half forward rotation?
  5. how many mfc players suiting up for casey @KC from Casey?
  6. herald scum running with it being an acl sad to see
  7. Not unless they increase it to 5 on the pine i am firmly of the belief that that was expectation when we recruited Reg, but the afl backflipped on it
  8. langford - everywhere, get on him for the rising star; will be the best 1st year player we've had since oliver linsday - smooth, almost goes unnoticed sharp - busy and quick, runs to the right spot, impacts defensively campbell - looks like an afl-ready ruckman, looks surprising that he's not played more senior footy
  9. htis maggoting beggars belief absolutely no call for a 50m penalty against adams there
  10. jafferson kicked it oof under zero pressure good body work at the top of the square for a mark and goal
  11. god we're gonna miss koz in the first three rounds
  12. turner wearing it today
  13. billings is a good kick when there's zero pressure in a practice match in february
  14. getting absolutely slaughtered in midfield no one working hard defensively whatsoever
  15. we look a bit lost defensively - the zone defence isn't working
  16. campbell clean around the pack in f50, sharp good hands, snaps truly
  17. maggots hot on throwing - called clayton already
  18. 505 on fox / streaming on kayo dan turner wearing #31
  19. campbell starting in the ruck
  20. prefer the bite-sized chunks, eh?
  21. it's not hawks are trying to [censored] it off - they've hit us up, they've hit the storm up, they got nowhere with victory as they had a bigger base ready to go... the lack of expansion opportunity for waverley precludes it from being a destination of choice for any mid-sized sporting organisation
  22. B: Bowey, McDonald, Lever HB: Howes, Petty, Moniz-Wakefield C: Billings, Rivers, Sharp HF: Brown, Turner, Sparrow F: van Rooyen, Jefferson, Chandler Foll: Campbell, Oliver, Pickett I/C: Laurie, Langford, Lindsay, Adams, Hore, Verrall, Fullarton, Sestan, Mentha Jr, Woewodin, Johnson Go to the link ... They forgot to list the selected players in the Team selection page Just listed who IS NOT playing 🤦‍♀️
  23. i've always thought that the game itself might be a better tv-viewing experience than live, as everything is usually in so close and tight with little sweeping ball movement; less even than union or the nfl as a comparison i've never been to a rugby nor nfl game of any variety, so merely speculation
  24. no salem? no mcvee?!? insanity! i'll take this 23 into the premiership... B: McVee - May - Lever HB: Windsor - Petty - Salem C: Langdon - Rivers - Lindsay HF: Fritsch - Turner - Petracca F: van Rooyen - Jefferson - Pickett Foll: Gawn - Oliver - Viney I/c: Langford - Chandler - Howes - Sparrow Sub: Melksham Emerg: Spargo - Bowey - Campbell
