How did you become a Demon?
Every club in Aus (there are many) which plays in the red and blue, and calls themselves the Demons should be offered some kind of affiliation status, even it is merely symbolic.

How did you become a Demon?
The first point to make is that when you are a kid you are highly impressionable. And football games for boys at a young age can be excessively addictive. So when we got the massive TV aerial put up in central Gippsland all of a sudden it was Ron Barassi mania. Sometime in '63 l must have chosen Melbourne, because there is a wasted part of my brain that remembers channel 7 replaying ad infinitum Ron "decking" Roger Dean, which we all know didn't happen. There is another wasted part of my cerebellum which recalls highlights of Melbourne wiping Collingwood in the '64 second semi. Strangely enough l don't have any highlight reels of the GF. But my English father took me to see Everton v Australia that year at Olympic Park and the green'n'gold were smashed 8-2. Funny that l have supported Everton since that day, as well. (And it is wonderful to see them climb out of adversity this year, culminating in a 2-0 thrashing of Chelsea overnight). So l caught the very tail-end of Demon Greatness, then proceeded to spend fruitless decades turning up at the G. For me though, the 2021 flag trumps all misfortune. And it is a timely reminder that Gods do do indeed, exist: Petracca, Oliver, Brayshaw, Bennnny Brown, and Bayley Fritsch. To name just a few. Truly from the top shelf.

Vale Ronald Dale Barassi - Rest in Peace
In the multiverse, TV footage of the incident was accepted and RDB got off. But we lost by a point after Doug Wade blatantly dug his knee into Bernie Massey's back and converted after the siren. In the following year Melbourne inexplicably slumped because RDB couldn't get over being beaten by Norm Smith in the club's mid-season darts tournament.

Goody Saves a Life in Bali
Obviously need Kane Cornes to dig deeper into this...

Goody Saves a Life in Bali
This is a heartwarming story and illustrates the traits of courage, decency and bravery we see exhibited week-in week out by AFL sportsmen. Less so, the sensation-seeking click-baiting columnists feeding off our club at the present.

The 2023 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
Not sure if this is good, or not. https://www.news.com.au/sport/afl/west-coast-north-melbourne-battle-for-afl-draft-sensation-harley-reid/news-story/e1f31110eb84c5a256bc38cae76f2ebb I'm just listening to the bloke now...

You wouldn't see TH getting front-end loaded by "footy acts" either. As Walt said in Breaking Bad, "I am the danger".

Maynard must get at least four weeks
History will record that the only two times collingwood has beaten us in a final since ww2 was courtesy of their roughouse, dirty tactics in 1958, and then in 2023, courtesy of the AFL-sanctioned poleaxing of one of our key playmakers.

Educated guess, but is that Doc Roet third from left?

Are we all on the Giants bandwagon?
They take the first option, like a top premier league team. We are always stopping and propping with no options upfield.

Are we all on the Giants bandwagon?
GWS play with no fear. (Unlike us: we seemed mentally fatigued). Maynard certainly would not attempt to poleaxe Toby Greene, he would get his face caved in. Would be excellent to see Collingwood get knocked over after their recent AFL-approved performances.

Maynard must get at least four weeks
JVR gets a week and disgraceful tribunal lets Maynard off. Tells you all you need to know about the thugs running the AFL, not to mention their goons and cheer squad in the media. Bring on class actions and get these glass box execs into a courtroom where they can defend their "footy actions" in a public forum.

Maynard must get at least four weeks
Haven't seen it mentioned here but great to see the old boys code of football violence swept away by new broom, Laura Kane. The sooner these "nothing to see" drongoes are removed from media positions, the better. It's football, not headball.

Farewell Brodie Grundy
About time someone started making sense around here. The solution lies in plain sight. And if sonething did click, it could be the catalyst that we so absolutely need at this moment.

Maynard must get at least four weeks
Making a statement and taking out a key playmaker. A time-honoured footy act, practised in finals. Like the last time Collingwood beat Melbourne in a finsl, and Murray Weidemann took out Ron Barassi. Or the 1990 GF when Essendon snipers tried to stop Collingwood. All for us patrons in the Colisseum, who want to see blood, who want to see highlights reels of "footy acts".

Maynard must get at least four weeks
Keep May well away, what can he do, other than get himself reported. A mini team meeting to show dissent resolve against Maynard's behaviour.
