    Are you insinuating something? https://getyarn.io/yarn-clip/63dea3f3-733d-4101-bf0c-32cb921b3342

I wouldn't be going too hard against Swans, they just peaked too early. It's a bit like the Melbourne cup. Swans gave their supporters a lot to cheer about during the season. They were actually very lucky to get past GWS, virtue of some last minute heroics. We should worry about our poor ladder position.
  3. I wonder if any other demon tragics are dining out on these glorious black and white, kick and hope uploads by son of Kevin Bartlett, Rhett Bartlett. This latest game l had only previously seen bits of. Now a massive upload, with our lack of forward line on full display. Both sides struggling to string together passages of play. No doubt the injury to Barassi (plus dubious umpiring) led to this loss. Fortunately we avenged ourselves ('88, '89 from memory).

Wondering how the pic was added, because there seems to be a 5.58KB limit to attachments...

There is an ad on TV at the moment where Heeney takes a speccy on Petracca's back. Of course ball-player Heeney does not dig the knee in, he turns a bit to the side to complete the mark. If any duty of care is to be discussed re Petracca it should start with some of the poentially life-threatening football acts of digging the knee into a vulnerable part of an opponent's body. Blaming the GPs for all of this is just - in the words of Jihn Kennedy, just kicking the can down the road.
  6. The AFL is the father, Brisbane and Swans are the sons.
  7. Good luck to the ghosts of South and Fitzroy.
  8. I paid big bucks to get the Ken Dakin ABC radio commentary and it seems this was a very scrappy game. Barry Bourke takes a match-saving mark on the goal line just before siren. Minutes before he was part of a chain of handballs and passes which got the ball to Hassa. Hassa the misses a sitter but moments later winds up with Dixon, then Crompton, then history. Fun facts: Ron Barassi kicked 0.4 and Barrie Vagg, 0.5.
  9. I was once told that the (channel 9) videos were once destroyed in an act of petulance when channel 9 lost TV rights.

Interesting that they are now enduring their longest era without a flag by far.

Daylight robbery, insufficient intent what a joke. Result determined by umpires.
  12. Smith's brinkmanship re the Russell Blew incident, and his absolution for Ron's midnight departure do not sit well with his team-first mantra. Not that the committee covered itself in glory, either. Probably signs of a club in inevitable decline.
  13. A magnificent snapshot of a bygone era. Two immoveable objects, with the elephant under the carpet being the manoeuvrings around Barassi's departure from MFC. Even in 1960 (post premiership dinner) he had a lot to say about the committee's shortcomings. (Red Fox).

Probably now timely to have an external review of the AFL'S footballing acts, and driving knees into a player's back.
  15. If you are referring to the collision with Andromeda, that's about 5B. years.
  16. Anyone who lived through Melbourne's first decade of gloom would place Hassa Mann right up in their top five. Schwarz had top 1-2 in his hands until fate intervened. Robbie Flower got his due recognition in State games and in the '87 finals series - a true sporting genius. But Ronald Dale was the driving force of a sustained period of greatness, making him number 1.

You are making my argument for me: re Kossie and Spargo. Fritsch is a finisher. And it's easy to kick a player/team when they are down.

Getting out the back is a time-honoured profession. Fritsch got out the back in the 2021 GF and won us the premiership. Barry Vagg was a goal-sneak, Teddy Hopkins the same. You don't want these lightly-framed players getting exhausted racking up the K's and then being unable to perform their magic.
  19. You just have to remember the cardinal football rule: always be second to the ball so you can take out the ball player with a big knee or hands in the back. Umpires look away when ball players suffer these Football Acts.

j American magician Mat Franco, Jack Billings, MFC.
  22. The state of lawlessness in the last five minutes of Collingwood v North was a site to behold. Shoving of players nowhere near the ball, Daicos red-hot in front of goals = not paid. Unwatchable.
  23. It's all "AFL" sanctioned violence. it gets patrons through the turnstiles, and pays the bills.
  24. Jefferance Farmer took an absolute speccy in front of goals in first minute of game then missed from dead in front.
