Dees for Punt Rd
Imagine MFC getting their colours on this site: Tigers to quit Punt Road unless stand demolition approved

Will Max Gawn ever be recognised as the best player in the league?
Gawny is a great player in a great team players like Gary Baker were A grade guns in modest teams that didn't get on the telly.

POSTGAME: Rd 07 vs Hawthorn
Never seen so much red and blue at the Berwick roadhouse.

The One-Two Kings
In primary school that used to be called 'waxing'. Especially prevalent during kick to kick in the playground.

CHANGES: Rd 07 vs Hawthorn

Good luck to the guy, played at the top level, busted his gut yoget the best out of himself.- The very, very contentious 50 for Dissent Rule
Yes, farcical rule, farcical application. I would prefer a clampdown instead on players who convey their dissent with dead-pan straight-faces, perhaps (also) sneakily coupled with a total absence of gestures or arm movements. These players are the true villains and such nasty, albeit well-concealed sarcasm/dissent should not be tolerated in the modern age. Surely we do not want a grand final decided in this fashion.- Are AFL clubs getting a fair deal when it comes to off-field finances?
Any team that was strong from mid-sixties on was gifted massive media exposure as TV replays improved in quality and the same teams were getting constant exposure.- 2022 AFL Season - Demon Highlight Videos
This one's a beauty, deserves its own post.- FIXTURE: Rd 10 & 11
There's too many teams chasing too little silverware, and too many dead-rubber games of no consequence. To mis-quote No 2 from Austin Powers', "The Spy who shagged Me", the home and away games represent an unnecessarily long chase scene. We could go undefeated through the season and still get beaten by a team that has lost 10 games.- CASEY: Rd 03 vs Williamstown
Hope BBB is iced after two quarters.- POSTGAME: Rd 04 vs Port Adelaide
It must be a great advantage to have the 4 points in the bank before the w/e; the players are able to relax and recover without expending nervous energy.- CHANGES: Rd 05 vs GWS
Port were chopping off most of our handball strings, this may be what clubs are looking at to stymie our run. We just have to cut out some of the Hollywood handballs.- The Concussion Crisis in Australian Rules Football
While the AFL continues to allow shameful hits on players in the name of manly aggression head injury symptoms will continue well into the future. The "its not basketball" defence remains sacrosanct in our code.- CHANGES: Rd 04 vs Port Adelaide
After following the Dees for too many decades I'll take ten wins in a row, a flag and the red and blue raining supreme on the G any day.- Farewell Luke Jackson
I think Tingay played in a final v St Kilda in 1998. He really smashed it in that game.- Farewell Luke Jackson
Seems like only yesterday I was reading the latest goss. on whether Steven Tingay would or would not go to Fremantle. Fortunately he dropped anchor with the Dees.- Bevo unleashes on Tom Morris
Bevvo should instead have planted a story and see if it got reported ie Teddy might do a lap of honour.- Vale Shane Warne
Funny how I went through my (part-time) cricket life with an incorrect grip/action and could never, ever work out spin bowling. Then a couple of years ago I watched a brilliant Shane Warne YouTube lesson and bingo, the ball was turning. Warnie was a master craftsman and a great cricket teacher!- Farewell Luke Jackson
I think 'soccer' is an abbreviation of 'association', aka football association. Not unlike 'league'.- Farewell Luke Jackson
I get annoyed when Sydney people call rugby "footy" when it is essentially a catching and throwing game.- 2021 Premiership Flag unfurling for Round 1 against Bulldogs
- How many times have you watched the replay?
The Bartlett/"Chief" combo very underwhelming. Having a laugh and a joke last ten minutes, "junk time" etc. It's a GF, boys. Wouldn't be like that if Hawthorn or Richmond put on that display.- How many times have you watched the replay?
That GF surpasses the 1970 Carlton benchmark IMO. After all, that game was only in black and white.- Around the grounds.
You missed the 1971 fixture! We smashed North by over one hundred points. We got into the ground about the ten minute mark and the Dees were already 7 goals up. Brian Dixon was North coach. The group-think was that VFL Park was soulless but we loved that ground, it p$%ps all over Qatar airways stadium. - Tom Scully
