  1. Just one of those annoying ones the week before the season starts. No-one's fault. Doesn't mean it's not annoying for us though..
  2. It's a real 'dare to dream of freedom' approach. I like it.
  3. I'm going to write a book of standard lines to post when a key player signs a long term deal. All your favourites such as: "Fantastic news. Well done lad!" " Important to lock down this key piece for the future. This has made my day!" " Wow!" "Yessssss" And many more..
  4. We got this.
  5. Anyone know why the Tiges didn't stick with Blight? I suppose he was mature age when they took him.
  6. How could we forget the impact this guy had on the football club. When he got here it was clear that the culture and training programs he'd come from weren't up to scratch. He turned it around very quickly and for a period there did become a respected leader of the team. Might even go down as one of the best key defenders this club has ever had. It's sad to see where it started to decline but I'm not going to put the microscope on that for now. There were a lot of fine moments and I'll still never understand how the guy played a grand final with a ripped hammy. Steven, you've been a great servant of the club and we are all forever grateful for the part you played. We all hope that the future starts looking up for you.

I think you and us would definitely be teams into him. Sure wouldn't mind seeing him on the G! I'm interested to see what will happen with your Safety Kam Curl. He really impressed me in these playoffs and I'd love someone like him with a bit of physical nature who can jam up to the line.
  8. Any news on Kentfield? Looked a bit nasty. What I did see was encouraging. At some point this pre season things must have clicked because the way we are spreading it around in midfield is a breath of fresh air. We may score and concede more but gee it's going to be a fun watch.
  9. Got on Richmond at $3.30 so this sucks

They definitely should. I reckon at least 10 teams would be in for Maxx.

I could see the Cowboys going for Edmunds.
  12. I mean yes that's true but the AFL has done practice matches this way for years with some local and some scattered. I think it's great news that this game has sold out. If we're annoyed that the people of Ballarat and surrounding areas are missing out then what is the solution? Play it at GMHBA? I'm sure people here would love that.

Tremaine Edmunds has been given permission to seek a trade. I really like him but $17m is a fair cap hit for a linebacker.
  14. Going to be great to finally see what this guy can do.
  15. AFL: " We want ruckman jumping at each other again" Later: "Oh but we didn't want more knee injuries!" Apologies if already posted but reading Maxy's thoughts in this article a few days ago tells me everything I need to know about how it's been received so far. If you haven't read it please do. Once again you get a great insight into the amazing attitude that has got this guy to where he is. The 34 y.o 8-time All Australian displays such a growth mindset that he even mentions that he can observe and learn from someone like Darcy Cameron. Always hunting improvements to his game.
  16. Yeah I wouldn't mind a Toby Greene type who rattles other teams and their fans. You could make an argument for Kozzie when he's physical maybe? We need to be hard to play against.
  17. Woo hoo metrics. Good news for the handball receivers.
  18. Guess they won the trade!
  19. I don't think the AAMI Community Series was ever billed to be a 'regional' series. It's a practice match and it sold out a 10,000 capacity stadium that hosts home and away season games. That's great news.
  20. Fair call but how many bigger regional stadiums are there? Maybe we should just be glad people are turning up
  21. I hope so. Home ground advantage.
  22. So it's him that's vindicated not us. False advertising but probably true.
  23. Hardly a self-glossing Carlton fan either. Initially I thought he was a Barass fan that might have accidently chosen a Carlton photo for the avatar!
  24. Some appreciation and show of respect before the bounce and then it's down to business and he is an ex player.
  25. Getting a Bret Hart 'Wrestling with Shadows' feel for anyone who knows what I'm talking about.
