  1. 'On the fly' AFL strikes again.
  2. I would agree that on field he was trying and did have some injuries that didn't help at all. The point is though that the club did not want him around anymore and were willing to take less and pay more to move him on. The people in charge have looked foolish at times but they wouldn't be stupid. It's a new day and we need to move forward into a new era.
  3. From my knowledge it's much more widespread in the APS now.
  4. I wish they would sell Scoops to DAZN.
  5. Even though streaming makes it easy to get lazy and pick and choose tracks I too like to stick with LPs as much as possible. There are certain bands where there's really no other way of doing it. And as you say, the thrill and anticipation of a new album coming out is something that is lost now. The 'what the consumer had to do in order to get this' factor did contribute to the overall experience. I wasn't around for the Beatles phenomenon but I can still remember the day I'd saved up to buy a copy of What's the Story Morning Glory by Oasis at Kew Records and Video. The day, the walk to the store, it felt like I had really earned good music if that makes any sense. I didn't have to turn the disc over but I did have to weigh down the CD player lid with a VHS box set to get it working 😜
  6. Once again, I find myself looking for a play on words/cryptic clues in what is probably intended as a normal sentence..
  7. Yeah true, they're all pretty shocking these days.
  8. Was it between the arcs?
  9. It would have an effect on him mentally which isn't ideal. To be honest his build is the least of my worries. Will Darcy is a beanpole but do you reckon they won't be giving him a fair crack at this AFL thing? Not bloody likely. The upside is enough to warrant being a project player and Kalani will get the best guidance in order to build his frame and learn the ropes. I think these new ruck rules might actually help him with the ability to jump early etc.
  10. I still want to see what his run and jump is like and if it's the same as Jeff's.

  12. Great effort Mick. All the best for what is next.
  13. Yeah there's plenty of great new music out there, the landscape has just changed so much. Full LPs don't mean what they used to. Makes you wonder how a Led Zeppelin would fare today. However it is a good feeling when you discover a good new artist.
  14. Toumpas was widely considered one of the very top midfielders in that draft and all experts projected him going at our pick. I don't recall one that had Wines ahead of him, some even had him out of their top 5 picks so our selection was hardly a shock to anyone. The doubting only started when we stunk up the joint and Wines got the RS nomination in literally the first game of 2013, couldn't have scripted it better. I'm all for giving Watts an out for what he came into as long as it applies to others. Let's hope JT strikes gold again.

Nice effort. All for creativity in the MFC fan ranks.
  16. Oh I wasn't taken aback Rjay I welcome the response, I just wanted to hear more about your tastes 🙂. Music is very subjective and that's the best thing about it, my playlist can go from Nine Inch Nails to Reinhardt to Glenn Miller to 13th Floor Elevators in a blink. And Joe's Garage is definitely something on a good sound system, anything Zappa really.

Didn't get to watch any action yesterday was flat out. I am reading some of the recaps though. Thank you Cowboys for ruining the tipping this week! Seriously a brilliant comeback by the sound of it and from for a defense that isn't highly rated, coming up with 6 straight stops against Philly is very very impressive. The Rams are seemingly the best team in football right now. Not saying they will go all the way but they would top most power rankings currently. Stafford is playing lights out and I will point out that defensive front again as I felt it had been under the radar but surely after Sun night everyone now takes notice. The Raiders and Pete Carroll fired Chip Kelly as offensive coordinator. Didn't even realise he was there to be honest but the numbers say they have the 30th ranked offense in the league right now. The guy never seems to translate to the NFL, to be fair there wasn't much to work with.
  18. Yep. The Dons generally have generally pulled the right levers on draft day and impress at the time, they probably had some As in those as well. It doesn't mean anything. Draft gradings are a cheap trick. You do your grades at the time, get the clicks and then everyone forgets about it and reputations are unscathed. Does anyone remember off the top of their head the grades they gave Collingwood in the 2022 draft? Unlikely.

    Another reason to hate Flogmantle!
  20. Yes, wing-half forward said the broken record in the corner... Personally I think missing out on Nairn wouldn't matter, this role is what I saw for Howes initially.
  21. It just seems like a long time to be paying Clarry's contract. Are there other agreements in the league that are this long?
  22. Is there anything better than Soundgarden music on a damn good sound system?
  23. Thought Brisbane outfit Ball Park Music did a good job supporting Oasis on tour. Give them a go but just don't blame me when 'Please don't move to Melbourne' gets stuck in your head.
