  1. We all have our players that we either love or hate. The ones we love we will turn a blind eye to their flaws and the ones we hate we will always highlight their flaws. On Dawes, he balances our forward line. Clark is more a leading, pack mark with good roving skills forward, Fitzy is more a lead up forward, Hogan will be more complete but needs time to add strength, Dawes gives us the strength body to body as well as that hard lead up, he is more that old school power forward mold. You know with Dawes, bomb it long he will compete and bring it to ground or be that step ladder for Howe and Clark. Hopefully we will see Dawes, Hogan, Clark and Howe up forward come round 1
  2. Agree with this, her husband was a coach of a club that had no idea what was being injected into his players. Essendon and James Hird got off easy and I hope WADA go hard on them. Andy should go for on reason he went to soft on Essendon. They should have lost points for 2014 season as well plus Hird should have had an indefinite suspension until the findings of the WADA investigation is concluded on pay, paid by Essendon. I wonder what Tania would say if her sons where a part of a supplement program like the one headed by her husband.
  3. Kent, Blease and Tapscott or young small forwards that have been missing from the main group. The last two need a big pre-season and yet again are stuck in rehab.
  4. Assuming the club will shut from the 20th, it would be an amazing result to get the 3691 members sign up and hit 25K before Christmas.
  5. The way I read it, if we had a competitive team on field and didn't have to sack the whole football and admin department we would have made 5.75million, this is made up of 4.4million because all football related revenue is back due to being competitive, 2.8mil saved from club re-build less the 1.45mil that we wouldn't have received from the AFL.
  6. He shouldn't get a game, as a small forward he should be behind, Kent, Byrnes, Blease, Tapscott and most likely the kid we drafted. On talent those guys should be ahead of him, but form and desire Bail at some stage through the year may cover these guys.
  7. He moves really well and seems to have good skills. I think he will always look good in sessions like yesterday not much contested stuff it was more about ball movement and run. We will get to see him through pre-season and I expect him to play a hand full of games next year.
  8. The Roos signing is exciting but so is the idea that we should have a competitive midfield next year. I think most supporters know our forward line fully fit can kick a score our back line fully fit are as good as any in the AFL if we can only compete through the middle it will be an exciting year. Not talking finals, just going to the footy knowing we have a chance to win or at least play well.
  9. He will play AFL next year, I rate him ahead of Strauss, Nicholson and not far behind Clisby for that small defender role.
  10. No one is saying he is a gun but he is an option down back. His best footy was down back last year and at the moment that small defender spot is up for grabs. His skill set is OK as mentioned above his biggest issue is his endurance, when he gets the footy he uses it well he hasn't been able to run for longer enough periods
  11. From his footage he is that AFL tall forward second ruckman, GWS didn't need him with all the tall forwards they have. Get 10kg on him over the next 2 years and we could have the Max ruck combination
  12. We are light on for small defenders, Terlich/Nicholson struggle to kick, Strauss can't stay fit, leaving us with Clisby that looked Ok but was loose. There is not much difference between those guys and Nev, Nev can kick, Nev is hard can tackle, has a good mark for his size, the only issue he has is endurance not a good runner. He is good for pick 50 of a rookie draft.
  13. I hope he is bigger than 187cm, thats a small defender not KPD. Norwood has been good to us
  14. I went and some of you points are on the mark, very low numbers training today, seems the forwards had this session off only Fitzy, Hogan and Bail made it onto the track. It looked like the session was focused on transitioning to ball from deep defense to our forward line. I'm big on skills this time of year and I have to say the ball rarely hit the ground and the most pleasing aspect was our ability to kick to advantage. Last year we kicked to where the player was and not to where he was going, today out in front for the leading players to run on to. Michie if fit will play round 1, Toumpas is class, all players moved well and as mentioned the skills were the best that I've seen at training for many years.
  15. If Salem gets No3 his nick name will be linked to Garry Lyon, he is one hairy man, have a look at his photo from today's training
  16. Depends who is holding the stop watch Jarka.
  17. Don't get to hung up on 100m times, most at is age are hand times with sport coaches and parents holding stop watches. Being fast at AFL isn't about straight line speed, agility is more important than straight line speed, the ability to change direction at pace and to have a break away speed, Judd at his prime was this he not only had a good turn of foot but was able to change his angle or direction at top speed. Also I have know guys that could run sub 11 sec's at 17/18 good juniors but you just don't that space AFL/State league level. The only thing from training that I really want to know is our skill levels are we hitting targets. Last year drills just weren't clean, better than the year before but we still had a lot of footy missing targets by both hand and foot. This translated into the season proper, we need to learn to control the footy by keeping possession and that starts at pre-season.
  18. Isn't Tyson a left footer?
  19. Who did GWS declare?
  20. Mitch Clark is in the forward pocket.
  21. Having a look at our list these would be my teams and also the areas we still need to top up through Rookie draft Clisby Frawley McDonald Grimes Garland Dunn Trengove Jones Vince Watts Dawes Howe Kent Hogan Clark Jamar Viney Tyson Cross Toumpas Michie M Jones Strauss Pederson Nicholson Hunt ****** Terlich Blease Evans Salem Tapscott Fitzpatrick Byrnes K-Harris Gawn Barry Spencer Bail McKenzie Riley We are 2 tall defenders short, and a Midfielder and I think a developing ruckman. Our best 22 should be able to compete with most teams
  22. Love to see on a regular basis, Viney handballing to Toumpas on the Wing, looks up kicks long to Hogan 30m out direct in front Goal. The three house mates ripping it up together. Watts is the other one, the bloke has copped it from the day he was drafted.
  23. It depends Nasher, we have 4 rookie spots to fill, we keep hearing how shallow this draft is, does Nev as a rookie give us a little depth particularly in the our small defender department, at this stage we have Grimes, Terlich, Clisby, Strauss and Nicholson, I still think Jetta is a better footballer than Nicholson, Strauss and Grimes are injury prone and the other two are entering their second season. We won't lose out by have Jetta around for another year as a rookie.
  24. Can he kick? Today's game is about controlling the footy, my understanding is Salem is the best kick in the draft, so you have the speed of Freeman v the foot skills of Salem, at this stage give me the foot skills.
  25. We need that stability in the club, that includes sponsors, three years gives the club time to improve, it enables us to focus on the football side of our business knowing we have our main sponsor locked away.
