  1. We will absolutely smash St Kilda Round 1, this is a good bet
  2. Tomorrow is interesting, someone posted on the sponsorship post that Nov 1 we will announce a deal with the NT government worth 1.6mil per year
  3. Do we know what games we get as replacement games in Melbourne for the two we play in the NT?
  4. Round 1 2007 Melb v St kilda, Melb enter into the 2007 full of hope after beating St Kilda in the finals 2006 before going down to Fremantle. The club had high hopes for 2007 and we believed we would be in contention. This was the start of what has now been 7 years of hell. 2014 we need to win round 1.
  5. Nope, 2 games at Adelaide oval, 1 game at Subi, 1 game at Giants Stadium and 2 in the NT
  6. I hope not but even the Age has this as our Home game and this was updated at 9.38
  7. The Perth Demons and Melbourne Demons are mirror images, both clubs had dominate periods through the 50's and 60's, Perth extended this into the 70's and from then on the premiership drought for both clubs. Perth burn there juniors coming through always looking for that quick fix. They had a strong zone, but like the MFC couldn't develop what they had and went after no good players mainly from Victoria. Back then Not many Victoria players did well in WA due to the size of the grounds, every oval except Freo Oval was as big if not bigger than Waverly Park. When I was done playing, I played in Victoria for a couple of years, loved it the ovals were so small, harder footy but didn't have to run that much.
  8. The way the Herald Sun has it looks like we will be the Home team, great value on a reserve seat membership with 2 games in the NT and our first home game at Docklands. Leaves us only 8 home games at the MCG.
  9. I spent the 90's wearing the red and black in the WAFL, East Freo was always a good club back then I hated playing at East Freo Oval, the fact we lost most games there never helped
  10. You have no idea what you are talking about, if Jetta played in our Midfield on his numbers alone he should have been delisted after his first contract. The bloke averages 11.9 disposals per game, if he is a midfielder as you state, how the hell is he still on our list.
  11. Do you ever go to the games, Jetta has rarely played in our Midfield the bloke was blown up after one effort he has never had the fitness base. Would have loved him to play in the midfield, I remember being at Visy Park one pre-season against Brisbane, he dominated in the middle. When Neeld came they tried to push him onto the Wing but he couldn't run out a quarter, he then had to push him forward again found out he was no good as a small forward then pushed him back found he could play there preferring to keep him over Bennell, Once again this year his couple of games down back has saved him from being delisted. I wish he could have played in our midfield he is hard and quite good at stoppages, the fact is he hasn't been able due to fitness.
  12. His first 3 years Jetta only was played as a small forward in the AFL matches he played, he never had the tank to play high HFF or midfielder.
  13. I love how some are righting off Mark Jamar, he gets his body right he is still a mile in front of Gawn and Spencer.
  14. I think Dunn and McKenzie will thrive under Paul Roos, they will be given roles to play and you are expected to play that role. Dunn needs this if he doesn't have a role he gets lost. I though Dunn was OK down back this year and few brain fades through games like most our team. I see him of HBF this year, I don't like him deep he panics. Toumpas needs to run of a wing, he is all class and we need him to balance our midfield. You need outside class with the inside grunt.
  15. I'm a big fan of Nev Jetta, his body has let him down but to me it is between him, Clisby and Strauss for that back pocket position. Jetta's biggest issue was in his first 2-3 years he was played in the wrong position, he was never a small forward. I was hoping he could build his tank to get into the midfield that's where he would play his best footy but last year he should enough down back to keep him around for another year. When you look at Magner and Taggart, they are so far down our midfield list now that they would just never get a game, we are adding 5 midfield players through trade Tyson, Vince, Michie, Cross and national draft pick 9 that would jump in front of them and considering they couldn't get a game last year they had to be moved on.
  16. So that makes it 11 players turned over so far, a clean Rookie sheet, didn't we turn over 14 last year, so in two years 25 players.
  17. We have more members now 18,250 than people that attended most of our home games. Would be great for the club to hit 25,000 prior to Christmas
  18. Viney Toumpas Tyson Michie Trengove Watts Jones Clark The improvement has to come from our young midfielders, if we can start winning the footy and getting it inside our 50m arc we will win more games than we lose. Our forward 50m arc has the ability to kick big scores.
  19. I believe Flanagan was invited to spend a season with the Dee's getting into the inner sanctum and we gave him very good accesses to the club.
  20. I like this guy, to me we are a back up key size player short, would rather take him in the rookie draft.
  21. From 15 yo played 8 years at WAFL level Colts/Reserve and League, had a couple of injury plagued seasons that ended my footy career early.
  22. I always like to look at my best 22 and then our next 22, this gives an idea of the depth we have or in most cases don't have Best 22 Clisby Frawley Garland Grimes McDonald Terlich Trengove N Jones Vince Watts Dawes Howe Hogan Clark Kent Jamar Viney Tyson Michie, Toumpas, Cross, M Jones Next 22 Strauss Pederson Dunn Jetta Nicholson Blease McKenzie Barry Tapscott Fitzpatrick Bail Gawn Byrnes Spencer Evans Taggart Stark Besides adding a midfielder with Pick 9, I think we will be looking for key talls with our last 2 picks from the draft.
  23. When does the delisted free agency period start? Cross is all but confirmed coming to us in that period, I wonder if there is anyone else that is on the clubs radar
  24. High half forward and playing that 7th midfielder role. No team plays a 6 man forward line, they set up that way at centre bounces then a HFF pushes into the midfield. You will find Jack Watts and Howe will play this rotate through this role and linking our transition from back to forward.
  25. We added 4 midfielders that at their best walk into our midfield, we had a need and we adressed this. We should start to see a competitive midfield next year. Our backs and forwards will be happy
