He does ruck quite well. No issues with this.

How has our back 6 performed with out him? Why out of all the defenders have we sent him forward? Dunn is a better forward option than him and TMac was also drafted as a Forward Ruck. If he goes what will we get a round 1 pick most likely 5 or 6. If he stays good but if he goes oh well we live and it won't effect our team a great deal, considering the role he is playing now, we have a better option injured and I haven't given up on Mitch Clark playing next year.

What Ross Lyon does is make sure you adhere to team rules and structures, from what I hear from the West, Col struggled with this through pre-season, more the defensive requirements of his role and was told until he gets this right he will not be considered. He had a good couple of games leading into getting suspended, then a few weeks back but Peel hasn't played for two weeks. From all accounts he isn't to far away another really good game at WAFL level should see him get a game.

What an amazing turn around in the past two years. I think most of us had him out of the club two years ago and now he is one of our most reliable better players. The move back and Jade Rawlings have saved this guy and thank goodness they did.

Put Howe on Harry O, make him accountable but also go through him make Harry O man Howe up. Elliot, Jetta gets first crack. The year we drew and lost by a couple of points to them, what we did was go through Shaws and Maxwell's man, it made them man up and every time the zoned we hit there man, Petterd in the first game was this and it made them be accountable.

You can't allow Collingwood to control our forward 50m arc. They zone off and create from Half Back, you stop that we win.

AFL to fund the poorer clubs to pay 100% of the cap
drdrake replied to What's topic in Melbourne Demons
The great debate between clubs. There is a fair and responsible way to equalize to competition with out tax and hand outs, but the AFL doesn't have the guts to do it. The bigger clubs will complain, [censored] and moan today but if they look at this fairly at what they are given they should just shut up and cop it sweat. The AFL through the one tool they totally control could equalize the competition. The Fixture, I read the age and it all about attendance, memberships and TV Audience. Looking at our club we sit second last on this table, why our draw and in particular our home games. We play Sydney, WCE, Gold Coast, Western Bulldogs, Collingwood, Port, Fremantle, GWS, North, Geelong, Brisbane as home matches, this draw smashes any club. You replace three games say GWS, WCE and Brisbane with Essendon, Richmond and Carlton , we would average over 50K attendance compares to what will be approx 17K. The attendance is only one thing our TV audience increases, our corporate entertainment increases. By changing these three games only it would add an extra $500-750,000 to our bottom line, this doesn't include addition sponsorship revenue that could be generated by the increased Audience. So when Edi and Co jump on their high horses today someone should remind them all on the free kicks the currently receive from the AFL. -
We are all dreaming if we think we will see him playing for Melbourne this year. He will only start running late this week, he basically needs to do a complete pre-season again so 8-10 week block of running with some ball work. I think 10 weeks best case to see him at Casey

I don't agree with dropping Gawn, look on Saturday, we looked dangerous with Pederson as a permanent forward, as soon as he was needed to be that second ruckman our forward line stopped working. His two best games has been as a permanent forward. To me we should line up Gawn Dawes Salem Watts Pederson Howe Vince N Jones Cross Garland McDonald Terlich Jetta Frawley Dunn Jamar Tyson Viney Grimes M Jones Bail JKH Out Toumpas In Dawes Frawley to go back, our tall backs need him back and enable Garland and Dunn to control the footy from back there.
-
With the dry weather Pedo will be at CHF to start and depending on how our midfield go he will be a good lead up option. I like the balance of our forward line, hope to line up as Jetta Garland McDonald Grimes Dunn Terlich Vince N Jones Cross Watts Pederson Howe JKH Dawes Gawn Jamar Tyson Viney M Jones, Salem, Bail Sub Riley If we can get the ball inside our 50m arc 55 times like last week we win this game. The Half forward line should give defenders and mids some good hit up targets out of our back half, we need a monster game from Howe and Watts.

Could of, should of but didn't. The facts are we lost to GWS, Bulldogs, WCE, Saints, GCS and Sydney, three of those teams will be in the bottom 5 with us and Brisbane, two will finish in that 7-12 area on the ladder and one is a top 6 team. Adelaide is another team that will be around 7-12 on the ladder. I think over the next 8 weeks we get a true indication on if our team has improved we have a run now of teams that are looking to finish in the top 8, Richmond, Port, Collingwood, Essendon, North, Bulldogs, Fremantle, Geelong then Port again. The bulldogs are the only team that definately won't play finals footy, Essendon, Richmond and north will be like WCE 7-12. You don't expect to win many over the next 8 weeks, we just can't get blown away.

Funny you mention this, my boy started Footy this year, he is lucky to have family that have played at AFL or at state league levels, the first thing they taught him was fending off and giving a little push to create space for himself.

It is a hard one with a bye next week. I would like to see Toumpas come in as the sub. For me Byrnes out for Toumpas.

I think this is an example of the injury that resulted from the hit. The argument will be what cause the injury Viney's hit our the head clash with Georgiou. I must admit it looked OK to me and I can't see how Viney could do anything else. I thought he hit him up the middle little to no head contact but the impact forced the head back and the damage was done by th ehead clash. Unless there is vision that Viney hits him high he can't get weeks. It was a sandwich and to me the head clash with Georgiou caused the injury.

The official I love Dom Tyson thread
drdrake replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
Our midfield, we finally look like we are heading in the right direction. We are quick to forget some quality players on our list, I see most mention Tyson, Viney, Salem, JKH and then throw up Riley and Michie, don't forget about Toumpas he is class and Trengove, this foot injury may be the best thing to happen to him. All these blokes are young under 23 years old, add in Kent that once he gets he increases his running capacity is a ideal wing man -
In Toumpas, Garland Out Georgiou, Frawley(if injured) or Byrnes Saturday night will be slippery, Toumpas can play well in these conditions he has been in the best for Casey most games since heading back there. He is quality and hopefully has built his confidence up enough to back himself. Once he does this he will become a regular good AFL player.

The one off 20m sprint time means nothing in todays football, it is all about your cruising speed, what speed you can maintain for long periods and extended runs. You aren't running 20m anymore to get the football it sometimes could be a 100m lead heading back to goals. To me Jack is slow, he can't maintain a good top speed for long enough. He can do the Km's but not at a high speed. Look at Lewis Jetta and even our JKH they can maintain their speed for long surging runs, Watts just can't.

Swans supporters definitively outnumbered us, the roar that went up for Adam Goodes was amazing to hear at the G.
-
I think in years gone by you could get away with a few players that couldn't kick but had a number of other strengths that made the side better. Today if you have 1-2 players that can't hit targets you get exposed.
-
Why attack him, he is right. The game not just ours is ugly and has many supporters not turning up and switching it off. Yesterday's crowd of 80,000 was the highest for the year, I think the next closest was about 63K, considering the big membership numbers of the clubs this shows that members are happy to buy memberships but aren't turning up. Why? the game is garbage, watching live is worse than watching on TV it is under 9 footy where 36 players chase the footy around. Teams don't try to win they try not to lose.
-
I'm serious, I want players that will give there all and do what is required by them. We need to stop accepting talented young players playing on their terms. You do what is needed by the team or you go.
-
I'm positive that he would have been asked to tackle, chase and work hard. You listen to Paul Roos press conference, he mentioned the about non negotiables, and followed up with he accepts the turn overs but can not accept players not meeting the non negotiable's of AFL footy.
-
Any player on our list that is prepared to do his job. It is not about being the most talented it is about doing your job. I'd rather have Dan Nicholson playing than Jack Watts putting up lazy, soft performances week after week. Jack has teased us all for to long, he either plays his role or goes.
-
Anyone that wants to work hard and play there role with in the team structure. Jack may have more talent than most on our list but talent means nothing if you wont play your role.
-
So you are happy for a player to get minimal stats as long as they hit the target. The bloke doesn't want to work hard, he had a team mate ran past him to go and apply pressure, I'm sorry you don't work hard you get dropped. I accept he is an outside player but outside players have to run and run and run, Jack doesn't do this.
