  1. You can't have B Brown and the resting ruck in same forward line. Our small forwards work so high up the ground that they can't get back at the feet of our forwards. Pickett is looking for easy goals out the back. I would give Grundy a spell this week, bring in JVR, have Brown, Smith, JVR. Bring in Laurie or debut Sestan.
  2. His ball drop last year was terrible, so high and the more stressed he got about missing he tensed up and just shanked it. He focused so hard that it actually made his ball drop higher and worse. Sometimes you need to stop tinkering and let it flow. If Oliver and Petracca kick 35 goals, don't worry about brownlow, we are walking away with premiership
  3. You cant compare the game back 20 to 30 years. Plugger, Lyon, Dunstall may at tops had to compete with 1 player and maybe some one sitting in the hole in from of them. I would dare to say they had a lot more shots from 35m out directly in front or on a slight angle. I'm not overly concerned about our set shots, outside Petracca. Our field kicking is our biggest issue, we couldn't hit targets which lead to a no risk down the line and then long bomb to a pocket. Safe football worse case we force a stoppage and set up again. Boring predictable football, the which the cause of the straight sets exit. Hopefully, we get confidence in our kicking to go back to taking risks, that was the difference from 21 to 22, not goal kicking
  4. With the new Sub rule, I think we might start tall, 2 key forwards plus resting ruck, then Fritsch, Kosi, high small forward mid role. Have a small mid size as your sub
  5. I think a few a discounting B Brown, terrible year last year but was asked to play a role that he struggled with. Bring in another tall to do the work further up the ground and get him back closer to goal and he is still capable of kicking 40 plus goals for a season
  6. Add in FS selection that will most likely fall outside our first 4 picks, we have a strong hand to trade and draft
  7. If Schache starts round 1 we are in serious injury trouble for the start of the season. Same with Melksham.
  8. No question he made his mind up at some stage through the year. I don't think he was every coached to leave, in fact he was given a lot more ruck time in the back half of the year. Max was injured and struggled after queens birthday, Luke was having little impact as a forward mainly due to Tmac being injured and B Brown completely out of form, Luke couldn't be that third tall option. With Grundy and Max, I think the club is thinking we might only get 15 games home and away where they both play, we can rest one knowing the other can have the same impact. We can manage the 2 to ensure they are flying together for finals, I reckon that was the reference to Geelong, player management.
  9. The Perth Demons story is very similar to the Melbourne Demons. A once powerful club, that completely lost its way and has continue to do so since the mid 70s. This is either going to go completely pear shaped or make the club half relevant again. The club has always found a way to lose its way. There board looks to be very strong now, a few ex players, would be worried about CEO though
  10. You are now seeing girls drafted that have played juniors for a number of years, been in u18 programs, they are conditoned to play football at this level. They have been doing knee programs like netball and basketball to strenghten muscle to support the knee. The game itself isn't like it was for the first few years, it was like the players went extra hard to prove they can play the game, now we are seeing more skillful players and very Athletic.
  11. I think it is Available but geelong don't want to play there until the stands completed, more money more money, that is what fixture is all about.
  12. Pretty handy year to hold 4 picks in the top 36 and a father son that we mostly likely fall after that. From memory Yze and White sons will be 2024 eligible. Gives us real opportunity at trade time and drafting to create a real long period of success.
  13. I know media is all about content and filling the paper each day but these assessments on clubs drafting these young players mean little. Walking away with Grundy and Hunter plus adding the others around the fringe, then add in the 2 kpp, the 2 rucks and the unknown forward mid, plus having 4 picks in the first 36 in the 2023 draft and really only losing Jackson we have done pretty well.
  14. Get in front of Geelong, steal the player they want.
  15. Complete waste of time, has been since the start. Sydney spends a lot of effort as they like gws, gcs and Brisbane have everything to gain by developing players, the rest just sign players host a couple of training sessions and have little interest
  16. I'm sure grass root netball associations would love that 15mil for Infrastructure as well. A lot more people play and follow Netball in Vic than follow the mfc. The bottom line on the facility upgrade it has to have or appear to have more community benefit than just a facility for mfc. If we haven't done so already we need to be adding in Reach Foundation into the facility, teenage mental health and support needs to receive the funding and facilities it needs.
  17. Most players will have a running program to do whilst away from the club. Few weeks off a bit of running to keep your fitness at a level so you don't struggle when you get back. Gone are the days where you could come back underdone. First thing clubs do now is a fitness test when you get back.
  18. If he lands de goey we keep him if not ensure we keep it quiet till after trade period so players don't walk out
  19. Yze would be mad to take this job. Expect to see St Kilda, Hawthorn and North prop up the ladder for the next few years
  20. There is no question that if we can bring that intensity and dare back we can win it again. We lost our way mid year, injury, stubborn coach and our players looked cooked this year. Our mids have two of the best tap ruckman in the comp, we need to become less predictable with our ruck taps and win back that dominance in clearance work.
  21. Smith May Petty Bowie Lever Salem Hunter Brayshaw Langdon Petracca TMac Fritsch Grundy JVR Kosie Gawn, Oliver, Viney Jordon, Harmes, Sparrow, Rivers
  22. The club pushed out a 4 time premiership coach, it wasn't a transition bit like Collingwood Mick wasn't onboard with the Buckley transition it was board driven that Buckley would coach somewhere else, same with Hawthorn they wanted Mitchell and didn't want him coaching somewhere else.
  23. If he picks Freo, they need to trade Lobb to get the pick. You would be picking Freo, they are building a got list
  24. We will hopefully have a fit TMac, B Brown couldn't be as bad as he was this year, Dutchy at Casey that a full preseason will be great, don't forget our WA draft picks didn't get over till after Christmas. I think if Weiderman is out Bruce is on the way in. Hoping Petty is still in our back 6 he is vital down there and these other blokes can hold down the kpf spots.
